Blah blah this song is good with drugs... Blah blah this song is good without drugs... All of your arguements are BOTH right... fuck im so tired of seeing the same shit on EVERY music video. Some people prefer being high listening to music and some dont... Me... I personally like music no matter my mental state.
speaking of squelching basslines how do they do that? do they record it and then do alot post proscessing after or do they use effects while recording? does anyone know?
@marsleviathan Look up the ol Roland TB-303 and you will know. Usually there was some pre-compression in the recording stage sometimes post. Early on a lot of tracks were recorded dry 303 and sometimes reverb would be used on the drums. Later on reverb was used almost exclusively. Then in the 90's delay and distortion was used. The squelching comes from the 303 and what's called filter resonance.
@confusionstate. I am with you. They have no skills to written expression or valid debating skills. Let's hope they'll out grow it, look back and be embarassed and what junk they posted for all to read.
I hope your granny has got over her weasle addiction man, I heard that can be real heavy.
Did she go cold Turkey, cos those Turkeys are noisey when you try to fuck'em. But hey if you can't fuck'em you can always try and talk them into giving you a gobble.
You wouldn't be saying that if you experienced the gut-wrench of late night partying with acid or the trails that completely had you lost. I have a friend that lost his mind when he was shokingly awaken on Acid. Had to learn how to write, be taught who was his family, and how to potty train all over again! Glad these acid days are gone!
That's a real shame, sorry about that. That was the problem though, the music was brilliant, and like shaggybaxter said, it's great even if you aren't on drugs, but everyone was on acid back then, and it went too far, and things like what happened to your friend happened :(.
Call it acid, you can feel the loops.

guys it's about the 303 -- hence the acid. though I'm sure plenty of drugs were used in this (sub/counter)culture, no doubt

Great tune brings back those XTC moments, Acid was used to describe the sound not the drug. E was the drug of choice at the time.
