i remember that the akai don't have fans , or if it had , they must be quite .... the sound in the backgroun it\s from the computer , and the camera it's cheap [sorry for my english]

I have the 6000, it have a fan, ist possible to adjust the fanspeed fast or slow

i had many samplers in my time - s6000 is the best with my usbcard, awesome machine

fuck vst samplers where you loose all work WHEN computer chrashes :-)

its not the sampler.

the only sound from them is if there is a SCSI drive reading its a high pitch whine but barely audible.

i think the result would be better if you multi sampled the sound, cause you lose the sound after a octive

I have a Akai S5000 sampler. it can record in up to 16 channels (With upgrade and sufficent memory), it can also play 18 diffrent channels back, it has 8 channel digital inputs or 16 with the digital card upgrade. It can also run from PC via the USB upgrade. It has full editing and mixing/mastering effects. it has 2 set of midi channels, which i use with my keyboard and sequencer (because this does not have built in sequencer(why i dont know). Its a good unit, but i prefer my S4000 and my PC.

it's only a sampler , you load sond and yo meke it like a sound module , but don't hare an sequencer in it , you cand find old sampler cheap on ebay ... (sorry for my english :) )

yes , you can control the sampler from the groovebox , and you cand connect a midi keyboard to play instruments

I have an s6000, a laptop running acid pro and a mixer. How do I connect the s6000 to the laptop to function as a sound module? do i need to buy an audio or midi interface? whats the set up? thanks

you need a audio interface with midi , and a midi keyboard (to play the instruments from the sampler) ,
