@andrewvanrhoberts i like the yellow jakets personally, because they are the only .22's that expand like a large bore handgun. anything punches holes, but i prefer yellow jackets. but cci mini mags are really good ammo, i like the pre-segmented cci;s too. stay safe.

i just bought a 10/22 and i curious about the hyper ammo with the stock barrel. will it wear the barrel out in the long run, or should i stick to high ammo?

@blaziankhmer I think you would have a tough time wearing out a barrel even with hyper velocity ammo. I think you would go broke from buying ammo before you could effectively wear it out. You will long outspend the cost of the gun in ammo before you get to that point. Now if it were an old gun that was rare I would stick to standard velocity just in case, but a new 10/22, shoot what you want.

@andreleger2001 i actually bought it used, i checked the serial number and it was made late 2009. bought it used because of the ATI stock, it caught my attention and it was priced the same as a new one with a wood stock. something cheap for target practice and getting out the house to kill some time. shooting my sr9 gets boring at times and ammo is not cheap when i shoot 200-300 rounds each session. thanks for the answer.

Thanks a lot. All I can say is that they're more accurate than the federals blue box (525rnd box) I've been using on my AR with CMMG conversion to 22lr but I don't have the facilities to make any other test than a paper target on an indoor range :-(

You should include splatter test with these. I find that despite being small and light allot of 22 Lr can be pretty cool when it hits milk jugs and Gatorade bottles.

@smartguy104 We recently did a set of tests for .22 LR where we shoot from a pistol and then from a rifle and we shot jugs as well. I have all the footage and will be posting them as soon as I get them finished editing.

Sir, have you ever tried the 30 grain Aguila Super maximum. It has a little more pepper than the Stingers. has about the same amount of energy at 100 yards than what a regular 22 would have at the muzzle. great on coyote past 200 years. not the most accurate in the world, but I would recommend giving it a try.

This is the round Hinckley used to shoot through the "bullet proof" vest Reagan was wearing. This round, as far as .22 LR goes, is in a league of it's own.

Those are my favorite .22lr rounds. You can easily get over 1200fps in a pistol. That's as fast as my .357 magnum. They are clean burning and give smooth action in automatics. They cost the most but are well worth it!

yea i was going to say myseflf iam a huge rimfire fan and have yet to find anyone doing videos of any ballistics with such munitions, would be nice if the videos were longer and showing more of the results and getting more in deapth with how each one performes compared to others

@1gamoguy We have addressed this request in our current production videos. We have focused more on the results section and less on the other parts. We are working on a new test rig that should provide us more data such as penetration depth, and chronographed velocity.

If the bullet expands more it'll transfer more energy, and the cavity it creates will be bigger... the real question should really be how fast does a bullet expand in a given medium. this video, is actually good... All I'm saying is the expansion results should be on screen for a bit longer.

It has almost no recoil since it is a .22. I paid around $450 for mine, but you may be able to find a better price with a bit of looking.

Yes they are slightly longer. I think it is because its a lighter weight bullet (32 grains) that is shorter. Nevertheless, they function perfectly in all my autos.

Errr... I would say no. A .32 ACP round has much better stopping power than a .22LR. Rimfire ammo is not as reliable as centerfire ammo.
