@HBshortboarders With all due respect, the guy filming is Brett Barley, he wasn't bodyboarding in this video. He tow surfed Hatteras's outer bar during Hurricane Noel, which was probably 25-30 ft. Not only could he surf the wedge, he could put everyone out there to shame.

I would like to see him put people to shame at the real Wedge though, since it's extremely localized and breaks on a foot and a half deep sandbar at an average summer size of 10 foot faces.

He's been featured on surfline and everything. Honestly, the wedge is just a big closeout. It takes balls to ride there, and he definitely has those. Talent goes very unrecognized on the East Coast, that's for sure. Take wedge surfers and make tem ride mushy windslop, bet they can't.

You obviously don't live close enough to see it break on it's good days or maybe you just don't have big enough COJONES to come down when it's good and the cameras are out.

Ive personally surfed double over backdoor, multible very heavy breaks in indo, nica, and puerto rico, if you want to make it a game of who's got the biggest balls. The wedge is too unpredictable to make it worth surfing, too dangerous, its not worth it.

@MrFujiface North Carolina... obviously it doesn't beat hawaii. no one said it could. we don't get swell as big as Hawaii, and it can only handle it so big. we do get solid surf... it gets 20-25ft faces here, just not that often, and not near the beach. biggest it gets near the beach is around 15ft.
