A pure race doesn't exists. How do you supose an Armenian going to a place where there no Armenians, marry. I don't think even that my paternal grandmother who was Armenian from the province of Kharpert, was 100% Armenian. because she had a light complexion and blue eyes,and the majority of Armenian have darker complexion just like my paternal grandfather. who was from the same province.

When my paternal grandparents who where survirvors of the armenian genocide, came to Mexico. My father is born in this country, they where no armenian wathsoever, the only choice my father had is to marry my mother who happens to be mexican.

My father speak fluent armenian.

But I dont' care if I am not 100% armenian, I am only 50%.

My grandparents where always grateful to the country that receive them with open arms, so they became mexican citizens

I did study in Yerevan and lived there for 6 years. From my experience I can honestly say that there are a lot of Yerevanci (not all) who think they are better than other Armenians from different regions in Armenia. I never payed attention on those narrow-minded people and so should you.

I believe that if you are proud enough of your culture, you will teach it to your offspring even if their other parent is not Armenian. One should be proud about the heritage of BOTH of their parents. If you end up with a non-Armenian, make sure they agree to spend time learning the language and letting the child learn about Armenian culture..if not, he/she isn't worth your time

I would much rather have my relatives marry good non Armenians than marry "average" Armenians just for the sake of marrying Armenian. @DontNeedToKnow84 We are 7 million Armenians worldwide. It is a pretty big genetic pool taking into consideration some of those Armenians are already mixed. Why do you call it inter-marriage? Armenian babies born in my family and friends family in Armenia are very healthy and lack any genetic diseases. Sure, we do have slightly higher rate of genetic diseases as an old nation but it is not a concern.

Chimps and Humans share 99.4% of the same genes, what makes you think we even have a 0.1% difference between a Caucasian and a Sub-Saharan African when what differentiates us from a brachiating chimps is already so low.
