  • First heard this on a Top-40 station in Denver in early '75- didn't know what to make of it but really liked it, especially when I found the album with the 22 minute version...

  • Kraftwerk,Scorpions.Rammstein........Ausgezeichnet!!! All from Germany!!! Nice<<<<

  • friend and i drove on it in 2004 from frankfurt to munchen, awsome highway

  • wow i just love everything Germany :) and this is just the icing on the cake for me :D

  • @Gorrrillla5 Great to hear. I prefer this edited version over the original 22 minute version

  • @EddieAlda yes so do i it's such an incredible song :)

  • This was a top 40 hit in the US? It's so boring.

  • @WorldChallenge and you're so fucking deaf!

  • All time classic! : )

  • Los sonidos misteriosos de Kraftwerk.

  • I took German & Spanish at the same time in high school. thanks for helpin' me get some of it back. Der Deutsch sprache freut mich sehr.

  • @incdogrobber. espanol es mucho mas facil de aprender, aleman tecnica que solo tiene que anadir las palabras.

  • awesome song here wow cool indeed like it a lot i think

  • its crazy to think the lp version is something like 22 minuets long and they reduced it to 3 minuets!

  • So long ago...came to America in '72 and everyone wanted me to translate...while it was, of course, the Seventies.

  • The Germans are so cool!!

  • Wow, I'll never forget this song!!!! Still love it today! Awesome! Brings back memories.

  • still great...but much too short...I'll stick with the 22 minute version...

  • I think there are similarities to R.Dean Taylor's 'I Gotta See Jane'... mad, what?

  • Scary looking Krauts.

  • Was this the version released in America as a single in the spring of 1975?

  • Wasn't the original version like 20 something minutes long?

  • @greydawn The album version went for 22 mins 43 seconds. It is interesting, but I do prefer this single mix as it gets to the good bits quicker. Thanks for your comment.

  • @EddieAlda What does 'single mix' mean?

  • @Sollers24 Singles refer to 7" vinyl. A single mix essentially means an edited version to fit on a 7" vinyl record. Hope that helps.

  • @EddieAlda

The "Single Mix" is a RADIO Thing. :) Songs need to be between 3 and 4 minutes to be considered "Radio Friendly", so MANY long album versions are edited down to make them more suitable for Top 40 Radio airplay. Although much more prevalent (and important) in the 70's and 80's, this trend still continues to this day.

  • @greydawn Yes, it is. As I mentioned in another post, they edited long songs down to 3-4 minutes, for Top 40 Radio. That is why most of us remember this edited version... it is what we grew up hearing on the radio. :)

  • GREAT :)

  • that´s great music!! Long liveKraftwerk!

  • Before anyone criticises, I fully realise that Kraftwerk are not singing "Fun Fun Fun of the autobahn", although it sounds like it. They are in fact singing: "Wir fahr'n fahr'n fahr'n auf der Autobahn"

  • @EddieAlda

du hast Recht, obwohl man gut hineinhören muss um das zu hören :)

  • @EddieAlda Danke!

  • @EddieAlda To be fair, though, they intended it to have two interpretations. (They knew at the time that it sounded like "fun fun fun of the autobahn".)
