It did feel a bit off at the time and I didn't donate any money when it came to the end. But the fact it was in pants meant it had to be filmed....a monkey in pants!
I honestly dont know. There was a sign off to one side discussing the monkey and probably its captivity but was all in Japanese. Do as the natives do I guess :s
It's like were tagging along with you on the trip! Ha. Good idea to do this mate, they're enjoyable to watch. No chocolate? I'd be stuck- real sweet tooth!
I'd heard about Tokyo Tower- little bit of blackpool in the Rising Sun eh lol.
Look forward to tomorrows vid :)
(oh and I agree with other comments- look goosed on this video mate!).
Nice one matey - interesting to hear how it differs to things over here... that MacD sounded awful - then again over here its pretty shitty as well... lol
I'm enjoying the vids too mate!! Really jealous of you!! I WANNA GO TO JAPAN!!! *cries*
I'll be looking forward to the Akihabara video.
Also I don't know if you're a Power Rangers but have you seen the Japanese version (Super Sentai). The current series is called "Shinkenger" and there's a new series comming out called "Goseiger"
Great Video mate. :) Did you know that Rippongi used to be owned by the American Armed Forces back in the
1950's the same way that the island Gibraltar near Spain is owned by the British Armed Forces today.
Now I know why alot of the shops were closed on the 23 Dec when I went on my Xmas/New Year holiday in Japan back in 2001. lol :) You must have got lucky on that day mate. lol :) I remember seeing one vending machine there which had glass Kit Kat Jars full of mini Kit Kats. :)
In regards to the food I think the goverment or culture pushes for a healthy lifestyle so making people eat small and often and making food expensive they achieve lower obesity and heart disease etc. To be honest we brits always moan about the snap when go abroard : )
Doreamon is my avatar. He's a Japanese cartoon/Manga/Video Game character. He's a little blue robot cat with no ears. Type in "Doreamon" on Youtube and you'll see a bunch of videos on him.
Awesome!!! I wanna go Japan!! Weird I use to think Choc's big in Japan.. so they fake it with beans.. lol. Yeah, I heard their food portion there is kinda small. Was it easy to get around places w/o knowing their language? The monkey looks harmless :P
It wasn't until we went to a few bars that we realised just how expensive chocolate is and the bean supplement made sense. Getting around was usually pretty easy as there was always an english translation or a shop to call in and ask.
That monkey was in pants...pants! Far from harmless :|
There was some chocolate but it was usually expensive and never seemed to go past the odd Snickers or Kit Kat. Practically no other big name brands to speak of.
I'd go back to Tokyo in about 20 years just to see how it had developed as its so fast paced.
Excellent stories of your day, really interesting, and thanks for sharing the out and about video! this is superb!

This monkey seems to be some sort of Baboon, probably has had its great fangs removed as they can be pretty dangerous.
Don't know what to think about this monkey though - seems a bit abusive doesn't it?
I hope it does get enough leisure time...

The Kit Kat's I did see were all in little carboard boxes then wrapped in plastic inside. Very odd.
