Some words of wisdom, I'd reconfigure your stove pipe set up. That is unless you want a fire. Because that sure doesn't look like a double or triple lined stove pipe going up through your wood roof.
I need some advice. I am about to embark on building a houseboat from scratch and where it will be situated will mean a logistical nightmare when it needs to come out of the water for the hull to be maintained. Therefore i am looking for the best material to build the hull with to reduce maintenance. A steel hull that is then "sprayed metal" has been suggested. I have also been told that this could last 50 years or more without neding to come out of the water...Any advice would be great....
@flyhighsi I would search for a user by the name of hustn99, here on youtube. If you have a question on boat building he's THE man to talk to. Nice guy too. He's under my subscriptions list.
Did you have to license/ register/ get a title/ pay tax on it? In Florida you would have to. Oh and a 5gal bucket with a toilet lid, hole cut in the bottom and hull makes a great toilet.
Im buiding a odd looking boat at the mo, out of offcuts in the garden and seeing boats like this tells me, all the people telling me im crazy litterally means they dont know shit.
@chip1cob Building our shanty, and floating it was some of the most fun I've had. My memories will last a life time. Look forward to seeing your work.
by the way, I think that this boat is beautiful, and could kick the A** of any boats within a hundred miles of me ;) (srry keyboard won't let me make a colon so i'll just wink)
@Johnnymitch74: It's 14 feet by 7 feet, the hull depth was somewhere around 18 inches. Check out my other videos with the 3d annimation it shows the design better.
All you guys wanting something like this, just Google "shanty boats." There are lots of plans out there, some free. These were popular in the 19th century through the 1950s' and lots of poor folks used to live on these things.
ill pay you 3 1600$ to build me one if you think im kinding then well i hope you dont me and my 2 other buds saw this and would love one if you do reply then ill drive down and pick it up
Nice one! Now what u need is to put a steering wheel up on the top where the lawn chairs are, have it connected to the motor with a cable of some sort. Than you can see where your going instead of having to sit behind the wall all the time.
Thanks for the response video, a first! Always nice to share your mad plywood boat projects. My next build for the commuter boat will be a corrugated steel kayak!
Yeah, we just kinda had to peer around a corner it was originally suppose to be a sail/paddle powered. In the end we put a 2.5 HP motor on it. It wasn't enough, but it moved.
Hey, This is toothpick ocean liner builder Wayne Kusy. Thanks for the message. It didn't to my message center. Dont know why. But congrats on your boat. Dont drink too much. Wish I could join you! Sincerely Wayne

How can you see where you are boating with the "shanty" blocking your view?
You might use some side mirrors. That could work. Or do you rely on a buddy to give you directions?
