  • woah I didn't know this was possible - nice work!

I only got 981 points I think because I couldn't beat all these guys with my fists and killed them just the alternate ways...

  • what did you use to record scummvm?

  • Is Fritz or Arnold harder to beat?

  • Fritz, of course.

  • How so?

  • man, lucasfilm games used to rock! i remember playing this, im pretty sure during the summer of 92 when i was 12 in my basement on my brothers gateway 2000!!! hahaha. i loved this, the monkey islands, and ultima 7. what a great era! another reason to be glad i was brought up on PC's and not mac's, or apples as they were knnown back then lol

  • owned lol :)

  • i love that fighting music!

  • I agree, it's epic. I recently uploaded the arranged version of Indy's soundtrack, you can find the fighting theme in part 8.

  • Good match!

  • nazis... i hate nazis...

Hey did you guys know theres a last crusade game like this? its a little crappier, but still cool!1

oh and btw, i beat the crap out of fritz... fucking nazi..

  • To paraphrase Con Air, you gagged and bagged that Nazi muffin! XD

  • So, there is a cheat in fight mode - The Great Indy's Hook. Press Insert, when punch'em.

  • He was a boxing world champion!

  • Good job! Now I'll have to see if I can beat him myself. :-)

  • Good luck... or actually, you won't need it, but anyway, have fun and be patient ;)

  • here I was thinking Arnold was the harder one to beat...fritz is a machine.

  • yeah.. knock out those nazis!

    great videos!

  • Well done. Thanks for the video. Now, let's see how to rescue Sophia!

  • OLD SCHOOL PC ADVENTURE GAME VIOLENCE! Reminds me of Kings Quest.

  • Kings Quest VI

    The best XD

  • haha!

  • x ke l' ha lasciata là??

  • Incredible! I thought this is impossible. :)

  • Oh my god, how the hell man? I've beat Arnold once ever, I full on thought that this could not be done.

  • To MiniMation:

I don't think you have to worry about getting

the 3rd Statue head in Knossos without using the whip as it would be impossible.

Also I have a list which I found by using Google on how to obtain all 1000 IQ points

and the only points you will ever get is by using the whip.

    So I think your OK

  • To Ma5terViking, would you mind sharing the secret of how to get the third statue head through the gate without using the whip in the Knossos Labyrinth. I'm really curious now as I've never even considered that it can be done any other way. Thanks, and great work beating Fritz.

  • oh ya good job beating Fritz!! :D

  • Is there a guide any1 knows of on how to get all 1000 IQ points?

I currently have 933 and I have beaten the game on all 3 paths Team, Wits and Fists.

I'm playing the game for a 4th time but I can't seem to get passed 933

    Thanks for your help :)

  • 1000 IQ points! I respect you highly, you are the best player of this game I know!!!!! And nice fight too :)

  • I now found out that Indy ignores that "I just took a whale of a beating for you." phrase always when that jail robot has been activated. That phrase is usable when the robot still stands in the corner.

BTW I originally intended to make Indy carry more than 119 beads without cheats in this video. Luckily, Fritz had one bead, but unfortunately, I was using the wrong save all the time, where I had just 29 beads xD

  • In fact I beated (cheating) Fritz on my 486 (beated Arnold without cheating first :P) and I got 996 points, when I leaved sophia alone going away from the nur-ab-sal room, then I get the 1000 IQ points. Strange. But, I was disappointed that the rumor about George Lucas (or Hal Barwood) complimenting you for 1000 Total IQ points wasn't true. Well, at least I know the game 100% by now. I'm pretty sure you are 99,9% because there are 2 last things to know about FOA and they're a secret >:)

  • Oh I didn't know you have defeated Arnold without cheats. I think your next step now is to beat Fritz, GL ;D

Hehe, wasn't it quite obvious that such a rumor is false. I mean, how could they know if cheats were used or not. Besides, they couldn't have known how many would be able to beat Fritz without cheats, so there could've been huge masses of players wanting congrats from Lucas or Barwood. So you could've guessed they're smart enough not to make such a promise ;)

  • Yes, I've beated arnold, and I'm not gonna try that again, it's a promise. :P

Btw, I'm starting to think about using keyboard rather than mouse, with mouse I can't certainly reach your level. But my version of FOA uses the arrows instead of 3,6,9 but I haven't tried with numpad. It's worth a try!

  • Then about that knowing something 100 percently, I think you meant you know everything you want to know, not every single detail that's of some use. Even then I wouldn't say so. There tends to be more and more to learn in complicated games.

And, uh, I hope those "secrets" are something harder than getting the 3 statue heads on the other side of the gate in Knossos without whip, and something more practical than knowing what every variable does.

  • See by yourself.

shinymetal, ctrl+p and take object 169 and 170 from room 15. Examine both. You can open/close the changing screen. And there's even voice in the talkie version about that changing screen!

These are hidden objects in game because during the cutscene in sophia's office you can't highlight or interact with everything. There's even an exit within a secret room that you can view with programs like Lucasripper or Scummrev. Here's my two little secrets!

  • Hehe thanks. I would never have found that 4 sure :)

BTW, If you go to the room 15 be4 ending Sophia's show, there won't be Sophia in the cut-scene. Indy will mostly have monology and won't walk to Sophia, except that Sophia speaks when viewing the newspaper, and Nur-Ab-Sal speaks normally. If you take the objects 169 170 be4 the cut-scene, Sophia will change clothes and Indy finds the bead elsewhere.

PS. 4 guys: Sophia changes clothes magically like Zanthia, so don't expect 2 much.

  • Thanks, but details like that are my breakfast :P, there are countless times when that kind of situation can occur. But if you wanna know EVERYTHING there is to know about hidden things of FOA, or beta screens of early development, you should visit ATMachine's site, as it is FULL of those things.

  • Hold your head up high, soldier. You've just made gaming history.

  • Also, scummvm as I said in another video, it's not the original interpreter, that's ok, but not either a "remake version", it always uses the original files after all.

  • But the interpreter is a very essential part of the game. The ScummVM versions of the executable file use the original resource files differently. Like you've said yourself, the fighting differs a bit (eg. moving back and forth) from the original when you use ScummVM. And differences can also be seen. It seems the enemies swing and jump more and differently when they get hit in a ScummVM version. However, IMO these graphical differences aren't important, the game engine differences are.

  • By game engine differences I meant those properties that affect the actual game play.

PS. Please remember to rate the video ;)

  • NIIIICE!!!!! You finally made it!!! But I knew the last 7 points were obtained if you do the other ending of sophia cursed by nur-ab-sal, also, indy seems to ignore the extra phrase. And, you got more luck than me trying sophia to call indy a troglodyte :D

(P.S. I'll soon post the video when I beat fritz with the mouse and 650 hps)

    KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

  • Yes you get some total points from the other, a bit worse game ending. But I meant that when you activate that jail robot so that it kills Fritz, you get 7 points to both current and total points. And then when you load a game and do it otherwise, beating Fritz first and then activating the jail robot, you don't only get 7 points to current points, you also get another 7 points to total points (again). So you do need to defeat Fritz in a fist fight to get 1000 IQ points.
