goodbye, giant, goodbye 1980's! we will never see that kind of music agan,unfortunately...i grew up in the late 70's and early 80's. i will truly miss the musical flavors of that time period. it was a special time for me....
My Boyfriend and I split for a month, talked everyday, and got back together.....he sent me this beautiful love song to tell me how much he missed me! Funny how we are in our late 40's and this song means more to me now than yesteryear. <3
@1109cinny god bless the both of you and i hope you are both together still!! giant rocked back then, and from what i hear, they are planning a tour...stay tuned!!!
sorry, but I just had to comment twice. The balls it takes to PAUSE and play or sing NOTHING in a song, waiting... it's just awesome. Most bands don't understand that allowing it to breathe makes it sound that much louder and bigger when you DO play and this song is just a textbook for that and all the other good songwriting/playing techniques that great players use to make great music. Name me ONE other song that says one word and nothing else for 3 beats? genius!
I would actually kill three random pedestrians using a spoon if I could sing like this. Okay, well, not really but I'd definitely take an arrow to the knee if I could sing like this. Huff has the most awesome guitar chops because he knows how to play fast and still sound clean and melodic. not many can pull it off even close to this. The snare drum in this.... just so much headroom and clarity. Too bad they didn't become more famous.
@chuckamok12, the decade of godawful music?? 'how 'bout the music from the last decade and now, the music stinks more than the local sewage!! The 80s had the best music hands down!!!!! Originality is gone from today's music, everything nowadays is a copy of earlier decades like the 80s. Lady Gaga=Madonna, JayZ=Dr. Dre, Justin Bieber=New Kids on the Block, Beyonce=Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey, Maroon 5=Duran Duran, the list goes on. When originality along with soul is missing from music, then music is meaningless.
@bonovox1970ify Lady Gaga is 1 part Madonna (more musically) and 1 part Dale Bozzio (visually). She's a recycler. Love the Bieber NKOTB comparison, lol. I don't think anybody can hold par with Duran at their peak, but kudos to Maroon for at least trying a bit.
I remember often hearing this on the Top 40 radio station my bus driver played on my way home during the early years of high school. Such sweet, profound memories of would happens when you add some Yngwie Malmsteen to some Journey to Lou Gramm.
40's and 80's the best years that I would have liked to live, one for its elegance, respectful and nice people and low technology, and the other by his music and those long hair. Those were beautiful years. by the way this song is really great.
frozen heart, cold lies, yes i've paid, nowhere to hide, move on this is life, feel the pain, don't question why, now youre gone .I believe that you can see that its over
This Song always Hits' My Heart Real Hard When You've lost Someone You Love My Tears Flow Like A Heavy Rain Storm . It's Hard to Let go when it's Over. So, The only Ting You can do is Try to keep Moving Forward. SZ
@bigorange113 They can be like the 80's but they wont be like them cause the industry today sucks and wont promote them etc etc ... I so wish these sounds and these rock ballads would come back cause then the world will start to see the light. So much soul in them :) I'm glad i fell in love with the 80s!
This is why they won't come back... They 've got soul! The music industry today is directed towards a different road, than what we 've learned. But, we can always go back to such wonderful songs, such as this one. Indeed, timeless!
@trantor2gr The industry is supposed to search for talent .. I dont know why they changed their direction .. I think cause of money maybe? Maybe if we keep listening to these songs they might realize that this is music , but that it my wish ;)
This is one of those cases where you wonder why this band did not get the publicity and respect it deserved while the public was and remains inundated with utter garbage. Although a sad song, this is one of my all-time faves.
The young woman in the video looks a LOT like Heather Langenkamp (most famous for playing Nancy in "Nightmare on Elm Street"). I don't think it's her, but Heather was once married to Alan Pasqua, who was Giant's keyboard player. They were divorced by 1990. I wonder if the actress looks like her for a reason...
One thing you all forgot to mention about the Lady in the video. Back then she was young and in Love. Now, she's an old woman that's full of of painful regret of that Love she tossed aside, and the only thing that remains is that agonizingly sweet memory of what might have been. THERE IS NOTHING MORE EXPENSIVE THAN REGRET.

@MadBlueAlien There is room for all these types of music. Variety in art is one of the most beautiful mediums for communicating the human condition. I love rock, however sometimes I just want something meditative to move my body to. Something hardcore to take me out of my element in order to see something from another point of view. I do think that music is becoming a little to commercial. We'll just have to dig a little deeper for the authentic.

This kind of song reminds you of your teenage years when you looked to the future with hope and innocent aspirations of falling in love with some fantastic looking girl and that she would love you back. Of course, as you get older you find that real life is somewhat different from the fairy tale you imagined love to be. However the real enchantment behind a song like this is that just for a little while you imagine that your teenage dreams could yet become a reality! What an amazing gift!
@GENERALLEE27 sounds like a taunting gift. You don't seem happy at all. If you keep idealizing femininity you will probably never be truly happy. Find a woman with similar interests and have a ball. If you already have one count yourself among the fortunate and don't waste too much time on one that doesn't exist.
Didn't this band used to be a Christian band called Whiteheart.
