Ask any vet and they will say cats fall from balconies and are seriously injured and killed every year. To argue that would make you the world's biggest asshole. (and the dumbest one) If anyone who adopted of my rescued cats allowed their cat to walk on the balcony I would take the cat back. It is a completely irresponsible thing to let the cat do.

its not easy keeping a cat indoors, they just love freedom. And i have 5 cats 1 is a 5 month old maine coon, she fell all the way down my stairs by balancing on the banister, n she was fine, cats are brill balancing on things, ( not mine ) but thas wa their made for,.
The cats width has nothing to do with anything. It doesn't have rubber bones. I'm not trying to preach, just trying to educate. I'm not just telling you thing si've read. I've seen the results of things like this too many times when I worked in an emergency clinic.
Cats may have the abilty to right themselves, but they can still break their legs from the impact of any fall. My cousins cat broke a front leg jumping down 5 feet. As a former vet asst, I saw many injuries like this. More long haired cats because the fur between their toes can make them have less traction on a slippery banister. Yeah, maybe in a tree. Hope your cats stay lucky.
OH gee! This vid is one of my faves! I have a Maine Coon mix cat (he's a red-haired lion), and he meows like that too, it's so soft you can barely hear it!, they're indeed the gentle gigants, as they call them... I'd love to adopt another kittie the same colour and breed as yours :)
my mainecoon is epic at balancing honestly I wouldn't let him climb on a balcony but I wouldn't be to terribly scared
