  • great singer

  • This song is Great. Pasty Cline was the Greatest singer of Her Time.

  • what type of genre would this be?

  • @admiralsnipe Old Country.

  • @admiralsnipe Countrypolitan to be more exact. It was the Nashville sound that emerged in the '50s as a way to bring country music to a broad pop audience. Jim Reeves was another famous singer pretty much in the same field.

  • this is my favortie song <3

  • i live in dyersburg tn, the last place patsy cline touched the earth's ground. i really hate this town. don't ever come here

  • @lkn4spaces Im 26 and thanks to Pandora.com, Patsy, Loretta and Brenda Lee are now in my life. Amazing Music.

  • @jessHabbo I LOVE COUNTRY How could you hate it? If you like Patsy, then you actually do like country.

  • @VASINGER i guess..

  • There are not many people that compete with Patsy. I can think of two, Dolly and Loretta and they are legends! Love Patsy so much, her voice is so powerful, emotional and unique!

  • PRETTY GIRL, GORGEOUS SONG!!

  • What an amazing classic!

  • oh how this song jus made my mind up about someone. thank you :)

  • The best female voice of the 20th century. Aretha, Ella, and Janis are in the discussion, but Patsy's the best, and this is her greatest song in my opinion.

  • This is beautiful Touches the heart and fills your soul

  • we used to visit a bar in Greenwich Village in the early 70's...White Horse Tavern maybe?...that had this song on the juke...played it over & over, friends just gave odd looks, didn't realize I was a country music fan in the making back then...Patsy & Tenn Ernie Ford got it all started for me.

  • Now this is country!

  • Patsy Cline Is My Favorite Country Singer.

She Has So Many Great Songs.

I Listen To Her Music All The Time !!!!!!!

  • God has the best band !!

  • Her voice was one in a million.

  • i love this song and itz so true

  • great Patsy!

  • prefer Jim, but this is good!

  • the best female voice that has ever graced this earth..........period

  • Patsy is STLL the highest quality country singer of all time..

  • you can hear the sadness in her voice . . .

  • Lots of nice comments and rightly so.

  • @Jrhynie-- By a huge margin, and rightfully so,simply the GREATEST Female country singer that has EVER lived....or ever 'will' live ! I have loved this woman and her music for 54 years !!!-- Brad Savage--Lifelong fan.

  • PS ... Greatest FEMALE singer ever .. xxx

  • OHHHHH MYYYYYY GODDDDD - The Greatest Singer Ever..... thank you so much..... xxxx

  • yeah great singer

  • oh Patsy Cline, I love you so much! And I'm only 15!

  • @IIReverbII she died in a plane crash :/

  • i wish i had someone to lve

  • perfection!!

  • Accident the airplane.

  • funny I thought only guys went through this...lol usually its the woman who wants to be just friends then get jealous if he dates another woman.

  • take notes, Taylor (Swift)

  • I'm not embarrased to say I find Pasty Cline way more attractive than Rihanna, women back then were so classy.

  • There is not a female singer who can hold a candle to Patsy, i grew up with my mom playing her music and to this day i am still loving it.

  • @Cecily787 Yes... (Dolly Parton) and she has also had more number one hits than ANY female singer in history.

    25 number one hits infact.

There is no female singer greater than Dolly Parton and probably never will be.

  • screeching weasels version is better

  • @tIII3monkey No it isn't...

  • Look at what this woman did without modern studio technology, advertisin, MTV etc etc. LOOK! I'm 29 and modern pop music bleeds my fuckin heart. THIS, Patsy is as real as it gets. I'm from Britain (although I class myself Irish, as my parents are from Ireland), watch American Idol or that new one, X Factor. It's a fake, a mockery. All those cats are doin cabaret versions of the greats. In an infinte amount of years, nobody could cover Patsy Cline and do it better. End of fuckin story

  • @goonert82 you said it mate.nobody comes near her.she`d have a statue in floods.timeless.by the way,i was born in county mayo and i`m a gooner too!great minds think alike.lol!all the best.

  • @frankmelvin Jesus wept! That's where me mam and dad are from! Belmullet and Castlebar. Used to spend every summer holiday in Mayo up until I were about 15, 16. But as yer get older, the kids/cousins all grow up and spread their wings. I was back last year for me nana's funeral. I live in London now, but this Hell-hole of a city destroys souls, I can't fuckin stand the dump. All the best to yerself, anyways. Good luck.

  • The greatest female singing voice EVER!!!!!!! Sexy and sensual melody pours from her lips...

  • Patsy Cline....Timeless & Priceless.

  • She was such a lovely woman.

  • gives me chills each and every time.

  • Classic - no one can touch it.

  • @Scorpion1054 Except for maybe me.

  • Very Lovely Lady and a beautiful voice.

  • Even if you get really drunk and sing in the shower....and THINK you can sing...not happening!

  • Ringer brought me here =D

  • There will never be another like Patsy! Most beautiful voice I have ever heard! I am 63 yrs old and I've heard them all!

  • Patsy I love you.

  • No doubt recorded on Broadway in Nashville when that street was Music Row. As a kid I sat in the barber shop on Saturdays waiting for my haircut, looking at Jack and Jackie in LOOK, and this song was playing. Could it get better than that?

  • Really classy stuff has its own style wrapping her arms around the dignity of country and pop music now its all slam dunk rock.

  • She can melt your soul with that voice

  • I have to totally agree with newjean200o on the whole comparison b/c NO1 will ever have her one and only voice as well as outspoken attitude to go rite along w it!!! Patsy will forever be ONE OF A KIND!!!!

  • Patsy is awesome!!! My mum played some Patsy one day and I fell in love with it. PS. I'm only 14.

  • No one better than Patsy; she's the best.

  • Oh, DO NOT try to compare Taylor Swift with Patsy Cline......that's an insult to Patsy. Nobody compares to Patsy!!!!!! She was a one and only!!!!

  • This is when country was authentic. Now it sound's like everyone is just trying to sound like, well, country. I think there was more originality back in the day. And Patsy is a true original. And I'm not even a big fan of country. But I am a big fan of talent. And Cline has it in droves.

  • Every time I hear this it reminds me of when I was a little girl and my Grandma would sing this song. In loving memory of my Grammy. She past away June 9th 2011 of cancer. She was and always will be my hero and best friend. Rest in Peace Grandma and know that your always in my heart. xoxox

  • Just love this song!!

  • Rynes is" nothing" conpared to the 'greatest singer ever'..."patsy cline'', an awesome friend ,there will never be another...!

  • Pure Magic!

  • I can't believe that this video has so many views. Usually older music isn't very popular on the net because the 50+ crowd is generally computer illiterate.

  • @robchuckrob I don't know about the older people in your area but all the older people I know including grandparents know how to get to youtube at least :D and I think it also depends on what you listened to growing up. I listened to oldies!! Also no one has a voice as heart-piercing as Patsy's voice...

  • Her songs make me cry. Some of them anyway

  • creepy hair child face at 1:00 made from Patsys hair on the left side!! lol! i love her tho!

  • My dad made a parody of this called I Call For Pizzas

    R.I.P pops

  • @garybatesrsc - haha your pops sounds like he had a good sense of humor.. I just lost my pops in May.. RIP dad

  • @mixwell1983 Yeah that's one thing I miss about him and thanks

  • amazing

  • Amen, jwjerky!

  • Patsy was a great artist but she didn't write many of the songs she recorded. This one, for instance, was written by Hank Cochran and Harlan Howard.

  • @123401ish; it's not the competition here.

  • you and i battle vulture, how can you beat such singing

todays music can be explained in one word, that begins with C_ _ _ _

  • Anyone else giving a thumbs down to those annoying top comments about "I'm .... and i love this kind of music"

  • I like the Patsty Cline, she's a great voice. Thank you.

  • loved patsy cline since i was 10. beautiful voice and very soothing.

  • Female singers in my lifetime there was Aretha and Patsy and then there was everybody else. To get two voices like that around the same time is truly a blessing. Thanks to both of them for some incredible music. I wish Patsy had been as afraid of airplanes as Aretha is. Or I am.

  • @mecormany For me it was Patsy & Karen noone else comes close.

  • @mecormany Wouldn't it have been nice if they could have done a duet, wow, I'd bet it would have been marvelous!

  • I really love her voice and presentation.

  • simply brilliant......!

  • This brings back memories. I used to listen to it after my divorce, usually in some dive of a bar and always sloshed. That was thirty two years ago and things did get better. So if you're going through a divorce, don't be too down...perhaps listen to "I Feel Happy" instead ;0) Quack, quack

  • I've always loved this gal... miss ya.

  • i'm 11 and i can pee all by myself,

nobody gives a shit how old you are.

You don't get a pat on the back for recognizing good music.

  • Patsy's music made being a Country DJ FUN! Even the transmitter was happy.

  • After all these years I am crying while hearing this song. Memories . . .

  • this song remember me RINGER!!!!!

  • This is the way country is suppossed to be. So called country today is nothing compared to the classics and I thank God that my wife can sing Patsy, as she grew up to it, very well!

  • Nice Video check out Opie singing type in: Ron Howard singing at the Palace Theater part 2 Greensburg Pa.

  • This song was in Ringer :D

  • any age race religion should know good music. this is a brilliant voice and lyrics. MUSIC IS MUSIC. well except todays sounds like machines rather than vocals. travesty.

  • I love patsy she was way ahead of her time. Her voice was so beautiful

  • There is no voice like Patsy Cline, she was GREAT.

  • My Granma sang this song

  • 53 people need to see Bell Tone

  • awesome bar song

  • wonderfull music

  • I can't help but think that Amy Winehouse could have done an amazing remake of this old song.

  • @WaldoBlvd compared to this not even close , the great imortal patsy cline is regarded as the best female country singer of all time .....

  • @WaldoBlvd A wonderful suggestion-

  • Another true sentimental classic from an all time great !!

  • One of the greatest voices I've ever heard. And the first country singer to headline in Vegas I heard. Her passing, like so many other performers, in a plane crash is more than terrible. What a loss. Thankfully she left us so many beautiful gifts of her wonderful music. Thank you Patsy!!!

  • One of the best, Loretta Lynn, Tammy, Kitty. They don't make em like that anymore don't you wish we all had voices like that.

  • this song reminds me of my younger day now 28 and still loving her music :)

  • I personally prefer Faron Young's version better, but anything is better than Justin Bieber! But I still LOVE her music!!!

  • Nice Video check me out singing at : Ron Howard singing at the Palace Theater part 2 Greensburg Pa.

  • Superb voice. Sadly the great ones seem to die young.

  • tanya tucker is one of the best as well!!!!!!!

  • FANTASTIC!!!

  • Patsy is what 'country music' is about--oh my

  • I'm 28yrs old from Brooklyn, NY (I'm a Yankee) and Country Music is my FAVORITE genre of Music! 90's Country Music was my FAVORITE but NOW I'm REALLY starting to get into these Old Time Country Music Classics. :)

  • I'm 15 and I love listening to this old music!

  • @JediMasterKary me too :)

  • Today Taylor Swift is a very popular country artist and I have to confess I haven't really listened to her enough to judge but her music sounds more like pop to me... Her voice sounds good, but I don't think she can even be compared to a classic like Patsy, it sounds like a whole new genre and I can't take to it as much as I do to this kind of music, even though I'm only a teenager...

  • @LoonInMyAttic Let me tell you u are 100percent pet.

  • Over 20 years ago, I drove from Massachusetts to see the place Patsy sleeps..it was a two day trip and I took a bunch of pictures along the way. I took 15 photos in the cemetery in Winchester. Of the 55 pictures I took..the only ones that came out blurred were the 15 I took in the cemetery. I don't know why....but it happened..and I will never forget the feeling I had being just feet away from the lady that filled our world forever with a voice that, thank the good Lord, is now eternal.

  • wow how im feeling this song today... im so overwhelmed with emotion today...

  • @ZulyTreez me, too. there's that one person in my past that i always think of when i listen to these songs.

  • There will be world peace for Animal Planet after the earth falls to pieces. All the king's horses and all the king's men can't put Humpty Dumpty (the Oval Office) back together again. No more horse races, the sport of kings.

  • Patsy Cline's voice & the song's that she sings will always be treasured. She expressed so much feeling and sung these songs the way they were meant to be sung by the guys who wrote them. The guys who wrote these song & the music were so very-very talented. Young people who discover Patsy Cline & this music for the first time will be so surprised that this was the music of years ago.

  • I'm 16 and love Patsy Cline. Why barely any teens like her, I don't know.

  • @cadyXcatastrophy67

because for the most part teenagers are mindless sheep who are more concerned with what is popular and cool opposed to being their own person and liking what they like. Age should not have anything to do with liking a certain kind of music or singer, which is why I have always told people I love Patsy Cline. I have since I was a little kid (Thanks Grandma!) and if people can't repect that, why should I respect their opinion?

  • Momma? is that you?

  • there are less than 10 singers in the history of music that everyone should know...patsy cline is one of them.

  • this is the story of a ford

  • Still love this song after all these years. She was and is a legend.

  • all im listening to right now is the 60's,50's music

  • This woman really touches you with her voice --this song just reaches out and Patsy grabs you

  • NO ONE CAN SING THIS SONG LIKE PATSY. SHE HAS A VOICE THAT TOUCHES THE VERY SOUL

  • jmk9787: what difference does AGE make. My tastes at that age was Paul Robeson :

Bing Crosby , Jim Reeves UNTIL my bro wanted a Drummer , and all hell broke loose , lol. Just learnt to play "Saunders of the river" (By ear) lol. on my harmonica

    Try that for size kid!

  • Patsy you died way too soon - but you left a fabulous legacy - Thank You
