We must ban together and NOT vote in politicians that favor any type of BSL; by doing so they will then know that the voters mean business about the injustice that is involved with these types of laws, AT ANY LEVEL. Other day i met this super sweet white pitbull. This dog was actually deaf! but it didnt make it aggresive she is shy but love hang out with people & animals & always wag tail nonstop when see people & animals. I might adopt him! :-)

Whenever she sees stranger she will actually "hops" to them then flop at their feet and roll over, waiting for belly rub, she even will protect my sister's baby and rushed to the baby if heard crying & be sure everything ok then give it a kiss before walk away. i missed her... All I can say is WHY?????? The dogs are unconditionally in love with their owner good or bad, so they will do what it takes to be loved....gimme a break. When you find a what you consider to be a bad dog "check into the owner first and stop them" not the dog they do what we ask them to do. It's easy, its not complicated...humans make it complicated. Someone saw my American Bulldog and I was not even asked to leave I was demanded like my dog came from hell. All because they thought she was pitbull. Why do I keep seeing chows on the video? Are they really banned in some states? Rottweilers and pit bulls get HUGE negative media coverage so it doesn't come as a huge surprise ( Although It's not right ) but I didn't know chows etc had BSL too.

I'm not sure how to spell it, but maliwa (unsure) are being used as military K-9 units. And its definately not the breed that makes dogs viscious or dangerous, its the owners, they like physically intimidating dogs, and what better than a dog (rotty, pit, shep, etc...) that has a head as big as a young adult, who has a loud bark and fearsome presence... This isn't to say that owners shouldn't establish dominence with there pets. Alpha dogs have been problematic.
It's all in how the owner rasies and takes care of a dog. My son has a pit bull that is a darling dog, i had dobermans that were sweet, but protective. It's how you raise them, just like kids. You feed them, love them and spend time with, you will have a great dog, no matter what breed it is.

BLS angers me beyond belief, but it's very hard to change some people's views. Very, very hard. That's why I'm so happy regarding Calgary, Alberta's way of handling these situations. I think that it's just a matter of time until other cities follow suit. Their approach actually reduces the numbers of dog bites, which is what the people want.
I live in Britain and am personally shocked that this legislation is so strict! We have pitbull bans but for so many other breeds too - alsaitions, rotweillers etc. this is insane! I have a black lab and although he is a 'safe breed' is is as big and strong and loyal as any of these dogs, so why the discrimination - its a kind of rascism. We wouldn't stand for it if it was people, so why the dogs??

It's almost never the dogs fault if something happens. It is the fault of humans. If we take upon us to own dogs, breed them, raise them, train them, we must also take responsibily for their actions. Dogs shouldn't suffer just because some of us humans can't take care of them and take responsibility to see to that they don't hurt anyone. I don't think banning certain dogs is the answer - I think training humans is.

I live in an area that isn't the safest and since I am a student I cannot afford a house. All of my 4 dogs are therapy dogs, they work with children that have cancer and it so great looking at your dogs doing something good. Dogs are going to be how we raise them to be. All I can say is WHY?????? The dogs are unconditionally in love with their owner good or bad, so they will do what it takes to be loved....gimme a break. I'm not sure how to spell it, but maliwa (unsure) are being used as military K-9 units. And its definately not the breed that makes dogs viscious or dangerous, its the owners, they like physically intimidating dogs, and what better than a dog (rotty, pit, shep, etc...) that has a head as big as a young adult, who has a loud bark and fearsome presence... This isn't to say that owners shouldn't establish dominence with there pets. Alpha dogs have been problematic.

It's all in how the owner rasies and takes care of a dog. My son has a pit bull that is a darling dog, i had dobermans that were sweet, but protective. It's how you raise them, just like kids. You feed them, love them and spend time with, you will have a great dog, no matter what breed it is.

I live in Britain and am personally shocked that this legislation is so strict! We have pitbull bans but for so many other breeds too - alsaitions, rotweillers etc. this is insane! I have a black lab and although he is a 'safe breed' is is as big and strong and loyal as any of these dogs, so why the discrimination - its a kind of rascism. We wouldn't stand for it if it was people, so why the dogs??

It's almost never the dogs fault if something happens. It is the fault of humans. If we take upon us to own dogs, breed them, raise them, train them, we must also take responsibily for their actions. Dogs shouldn't suffer just because some of us humans can't take care of them and take responsibility to see to that they don't hurt anyone. These BSL really suck. Apartment communities should do temperament tests or have owners prove they've been properly trained. I live in an area that isn't the safest and since I am a student I cannot afford a house. I would like to have a doberman, German Shepard, or pitbull not to use for bad reasons but to deter anyone from wanting to rob me. I can only have my little min pin :(

bsl is not just for pitbulls and rottweilers.. 75 dogs are listed in this shit including the boston terrier, labrador retriever and german shepherd dog... i think, they r goin to use chihuahuas and toy poodle as the new k-9 unit.. LOL

I would go a step further and say that BSL is not just the result of irresponsible owners but is also imputable to breeders that are doing it for the money and not for the love of the breed. A good breeder will carefully select who it is selling it's puppies to.

I agree, if you go to a breeder and they don't ask you questions then you should go somewhere else. If I had puppies I would want a full backgound and I wouldn't be afraid to say go somewhere else

You do realize that breed specific legislation hit most of the western world. Italy still bans 17 breeds, down from nearly a hundred. Austraila and Germany. Canada as well, infamously Ontario.
The people behind it are Animal Rights groups who figure if they can destroy all dogs, than they're on their way to 'liberating animals.' They have numerous brain washed idiots behind them, and the power to make politicians shake.

Man, BSL sucks! I have to deal with more than a few neighbors and "friends" who can't seem to go a day without telling me how scary a pit is or how unreliable a rottie is. It's complete bullshit. All of my favorite breeds are affected as well: GSDs, Pits, Akitas, and Rotties. I've never had the pleasure of meeting a Dobie, but I hope one day I can. I've been attacked by two chihuahuas (separate incidents) and have scars to prove it, but I know that it was that dog and how its owner raised it.

As unfortunate as it is, this is what our society has amounted to. The masses are nothing but a herd of sheep who own no responsibilities. The same thing is happening to RESPONSIBLE gun owners across the nation. I am both a gun owner & advocate and a proud human parent for 4 canines and 6 felines. If they want to come and take my kids (animals) or guns, they will have to take them from my cold dead hands !!!

I am in a complete shock! I agree with this video ! Blameee the people not the breeds ! I have 2 akitas and 2 german shepherds and they are amazing dogs ! All of my 4 dogs are therapy dogs, they work with children that have cancer and it so great looking at your dogs doing something good. Dogs are going to be how we raise them to be. My dogs may intimidate but they would never do harm to no body. Dont try to take my dogs form me cuz I will do anything to for them. They are my like children!
