Pretty good dude! As someone probably already said that's about a 13.7 in the 1/4, which for a daily driven awd car is very solid.

I'm looking at buying one now that my lease on my 09 Cooper S is almost over. Will do the same mods for the most part: CAI, exhaust, perhaps a tune when warranty runs off.

not bad.. what year is your speed6? I went there yesterday and got 9.6 with my 04 TL.. I thought our cars should be head to head.. prob cuz mines an auto. nice numbers

@Chyi2990 My speed6 was an 07. It's been gone for a while now. Thing is, with the Speed6, it's a boosted car, so small mods that help spool and alleviate backpressure make a huge difference in power vs something naturally aspirated like the TL. Best of luck!

Deng from what I hear, thats a decent time for your car. I'm used to my honda's high reving, it sounds like your shifting into 3rd early but i've never driven a Mazda 6, plus you have a good time to back it up. I'm going there next week and i'm nerbous, any tips man for a first timer man?

@DropThatHammer These cars don't have great top end power, the turbo runs out of efficiency up there. So shifting earlier is preferred to get into the next gear with more torque and hp to use. The first two gears are still advantageous to wind up because of the gearing outweighs the loss of power up top.

Just relax, focus and leave the line when you're ready. The clock doesn't start at the green light, it starts after your wheels cross the laser. The only thing that will effect is Reaction Time

Not too bad. My '82 Mustang 5.0 with just a stock rebuild on the motor and a cam ran 75 mph in the 1/8th with 4000 ft more density altitude than Irwindale. If I correct that in the d/a calc it gives me 78 mph so that would be a close matchup. Except that we live far apart lol. Phoenix summers suck. 350Zs, SRT4s, a 1995 Z28 LT1 6 speed and a 2001 Lightning were all running low 15s @ 95 mph in the 1/4 last night cuz of the 5000 ft d/a. Even a modded SRT8 300 was only doing 14.3 @ 99.

Awesome run and clean shifting. Do you have engine mounts in this run? Shifting so fast in a stocker would generate some serious drivetrain lash.

Not to mention I heard a forge bpv as you passed the finish :).

I believe I had the CP-E rear motor mount at the time and Eibach Springs. And yeah, the Forge sounds like Super Mario collecting a coin. Clink! haha

My 08 WRX just ran an 8.6 at the same track about a week ago. I think it's capable of 8.4s, I just need to lower the tire pressures (AWD burnout FTL)... Then after I install my injectors, pump and retune, I should be in the low 8s which equate to high 12s in the 1/4.

Yeah, I always went on Sundays... Wednesday nights don't work for me :( Bummer that it's over. Most I've done is 10 passes. I average 8 between the 3 times I went.

LOL, funny you mention that. This was, I think, my 3rd run of the day, and at least in the first run, I didn't pay much attention and thought it was a woman. I was pretty perplexed. Haha.
