Did you put the chip on and take it off a bunch of times? Or did you misalilgn it for the first try? If so, that's why it won't stay down now. Try the needle idea posted below, but be extremely careful. And once you get it on, LEAVE IT ON.

WiiClips are hit or miss, the first one i ordered was garbage, but my second one works like a dream

I agree with the needle but be supercareful because you can destroy the pins , I know I have destroyed a wii-clip with by doing the same method.
However my wii-clip was never the fault on my chip , it was faulty
