American Idol is so fake, for the most part. David Cook already had a CD before the show, and many others (like David Archuleta and Allison Iraheta) have already won some TV shows in the past. Adam Lambert is already a professional musician. I mean, it's as though you cannot be a normal person with talent to win American Idol. You have to be super accomplished before the show, lol.

This girl, Joanna, just had the bad luck of being friends with the executives of American Idol. guess it's fair...

How were they super accomplished? So what if they made appearances before, that just means they didn't sit around and wait for American Idol to lift them from the ground. from what I could find online, she was good friends with some of the execs/producers of american idol and she had a professional career before. Not sure if either of those are why she was disqualified, like I said, just what I found online. :-)

AI knew about her friendship with 2 19E employees but put her through anyway. They DQ'd her when someone she knew went to Star about it.

Michael Johns was not affiliated with Idol in any way, shape or form. He had albums with companys that tanked.

There is no rule that you can't have any independent albums while on Idol. Cook had a few too.

Votes don't count anyway so don't waste your time.

I think its unfair. If AI HAS a rule that contestants who had record labels (Sucessful or not) would be disqualified, then kristy, david c, michael and carly shoul've been disqualified. It's poor to think that Joanna even expected more, only just to know that she'd be disqualified. Besides that, AI staff should've done some action before this issue had gone wild. Poor Joanna. I'm a fan of Carly&Michael, but in this case, they too, should've been disqualified, as well as the other non-newbies

My point was where do you draw the line? There are degrees of music industry experience. Jackson would be on one extreme end and a someone on their first audition would be on the other end. some former contestants have been on labels but no contestant ever had the resume Pacitti had. Again, she was on broadway at age 12. She has been on the two biggest labels. She's been on mtv. She's opened for the biggest music stars in the world. I could go on and on. I draw the line at her.

I personally really like her voice.......her and Lil Rounds are really the only two females that have stuck in my head.

As far as already having a chance- blame the producers/rules. People who have already had an album can compete as long as they arent currently signed......numerous contestants have done this already, yet it didnt become an "issue" until Carly was on the show last year.

Oh, I know Carly wasnt the only one that had had a deal in the past. It seemed to me that she was the one that people were making the biggest fuss over, hence the reason it became an "issue" with her.

(Believe me, I'm not trying to bash on Carly, it just so happened that news outlets started reporting on her prior album on MCA- even though contestants before her had nearly identical chances).
