So here when you say that you're stringing the second cross first is that because the racket has an odd number of crosses? Meaning, would you start from the first cross if there were an even number?
Hey i have the stringing machine as u do but i was trying to string my racket but the rotational griper doest pull the tension but only go forward. if help it would be a big help thanks
when doing the crosses.. is it really necessary to skip one grommet before you reach the end of the bumper guard and go back to the skipped grommet so that both ends of the bumper guard will be locked by the string? please help.. thnks
just wondering if you know this coz i dont. am i best to use natural or synthetic gut on the mains. and another type for example babalot pro hurricane tour on the crosses? or use the same for mains and crosses. its the first time im gettin my racket re-stringed you see.
how do i prevent the starting knot on the cross to sink into the grommet?
I usually use parnell, but I've been trying out the starting knot also, but the result is the same (knot sunk into the grommet, hiding.... lurking... in the shadows..)
You shouldn't use a parnell as a starting knot, for one. If you have been, that may be why your grommet is wide enough to "swallow" the starting knot. Try the bulky knot, I have a video for it as well.
wrong.... not really. Some manufacturers prefer you not string from the bottom. And, most pro stringers will go out of there way to string from the top, using ATW patterns or two-piece, because they feel it's better for the racquet.
Thank you for your video, it is very interesting. Can you explain better where you attach your "flight clamp"? You take also the knot or only the string after the knot?
Could you show the beginning of how you put the strings in

i dont know about Natural gut. but definately Pro hurricane in the mains. and synthetic in the crosses

ok thaks. but what about the 1 peice pattern is that still good
neiloconnor123 2 years ago
umm ive never tried Natural gut at all.
but if its not too stiff for you then go ahead try a full bed of PHT if thats what your talking about.
to me its not that bad at all.
Frostythelol 2 years ago
oh great. do you use pro hurricane strings
neiloconnor123 2 years ago
no, i use Topspin Cyberflash 17 full bed.
ive tried PHT and Luxilon all in one bed on my friend's racquet. it was the first time i tried poly and it honestly wasn't bad at all.

Is it better to use a starting knot or to use the starting clamp so you can use a finishing knot?
jonvdw 3 years ago
It's better to use a finishing knot when you are using a really stiff string like a poly or when using natural gut.
YULitle 3 years ago
And just to be clear, that means using a starting clamp. :D

I only tighten the first cross and therefor the knot at the end.
