This about brought me to tears. I've found so few people who feel the same way.
Any kingdom where people fight each other will end up ruined. And a town or family that fights will soon destroy itself. So if Satan fights against himself, how can his kingdom last?...But if I drive out Satan by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. (excerpts from Matthew 12)
For all those that may not be familiar with the bible vernacular:
Hitler and World War Two are interesting to look at in this tribal model. Could a stage five interaction have prevented Hitler from doing the awful things he did? I'm actually not so sure-- the tribal model is one that applies only to rational actors. I'm not so sure that Hitler was rational. In the most literal sense of the word, Hitler was "crazy".
The analogy of the soldiers, however, is perfect. Thanks again for the great response!
Exactly what I was thinking. Hitler goes way beyond a man with anger issues...we're talking genocide, not homicide.
I see where she was coming from but I disagree to a certain extent. Hitler was in his own realm of thought, none of which could be changed by a little one on one time with a therapist.
It would save more lives to kill him on spot than to care about his feelings.
There have been many times in history where the most compassionate thing to do was to kill someone. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed your video. You have a great speaking voice.
While I certainly agree with you that, in general, adding discussion to conflicts would be beneficial, I believe it's quite naive to think that discussion alone would "change the world. It is possible that many small disputes could be solved with understanding and compassion, but there are people in this world who gain a lot of power and influence and are so far gone that a passive discussion with them probably wouldnt bear much consequence.
wow, we really think alike, i completely agree with what you said there. If someone did care about hitler, especially his art, world war 3 could have been avoided, so we should take that in to mind that these people did these things cause no one cared. Which means we should all care about eachother, about everyone cause life is great, and so are we.
