@flfkcjswo you can sample it in realtime while playing and filming it. You save the sample, export to your computer. Mute the video-sound, and past the sample sound. (watch out for synchonisation, audio and video).

@flfkcjswo its called a Sound Card. THis new device has a hole where it says LINE IN, there you plug your instrument +a recording software and voila. Or you could plug a usb stick into ur keyboard and record as wave directly on it,on new keyboard models like yamaha motif XS.

Go for the kursweil pc3x or the new pc3k. The piano sound is the best. It may not be as fancy as the fantom or motif but it has amazing depth

I own a Fantom G8. I've found 1 piano patch Brite-NY Grand (24) that simply sounds like an amazing acoustic grand, not a synthesized piano sound. There are a few others on there that sound great as well.

The reason I bought my Fantom was not the workstation or the sounds though, it was the keyboard. I think the second best action is on the Yamaha CP300, followed distantly by the motif (Haven't played a Kawaii).

Also take into account the amazing PHA II Ivory Roland has on the G8.

I know! I find that some acoustic pianos (a lot actually, like my piano teachers Yamaha U3) are less responsive.

I have the dynamic response on mine set to acoustic, its amazing how realistic it is. The out of the box "medium" might be nice for little girls, but the actual "Acoustic" setting requires a lot of OOMPH to play loudly, and of course allows for the most delicate of playing - just like an acoustic grand.

I just now sold my XS8 for a G7, The motif is an amazing piano also, but the G has the mouse connection, with the more realistic piano sounds (i didnt like the xs's default piano sound :(

Yeah I did. The motif was great but it was a little too dance and techno for me. The fantoms sounds were more appealing and looked easier to master. (and I just loved the ivory feel keys.

they both are good workstations but I went for the roland having been a customer of some of their other products.

You really can't compare the Tyros3 to a Fantom-G8. That's an arranger keyboard versus a synthesizer workstation. If you like to play with a lot of presets and styles, buy a keyboard like the Tyros3, when you want to sequense and program your own sounds, buy a synthesizer like the Roland Fantom-G or a Yamaha Motif XS

i bought one a week before.. its amazing :D i just got 1 question: i hear if i hit the keys.. it gives noises.. like we can hear in your video.. but on my piano it also make noises where the faders are.. does this happen to you too? it might be hurted by transport... i just wondered if thats normal or not..

That's normal, well it shouldn't be, but Roland forgot to glue the start, stop and rec button on a decent way. When you hold these buttons you will notice that when you start playing the noise is gone.

Laat ik het er vooral op houden dat ik niet al te voorzichtig speel :-) De stand zelf is denk ik wel één van de stevigste die je kan vinden die ook nog een beetje transporteerbaar is. Het is inderdaad een orginele van Roland (KS-V7). Voor de Fantom-G8 is er ook nog een speciale bijpassende standaard. Die is nog stabieler, maar minder makkelijk te transporteren.

Seriously! I´ve just buyed the G7 but I´m not certain if I did the right thing. I was to choose between the Motif XS and the Fantom G, and I wonder if the piano sounds from Motif are somewhat better... Have you ever make up your mind about this? I mean, have you ever compared both of them? Congratulations on your performance!

The presets are not as good as on the Motif, but with some tweaking you can get better piano's. Take for example the Super NY-Grand piano, when you choose some decent effects and make it some brighter you have the same type of sound as the main piano on the Motif. I always say: you want presets, buy a Motif, otherwise the Fantom-G is a better choice...

Actually the I own the Motif XS and have to say that I prefer the Fantom X that I have over the XS for "classic pianos" . The XS piano is more like "get addicted to" type sound, that you will love playing but it doesnt sound right for classical stuffs. :D I do love both my keyboards, XS and the Fan X. I guess G is obviously a lot better than the Fan X.

You are a big fool when you think that synthesizers/workstations are only for professional productions. They have the facilities to make those, but they are also suited to play normal, simple songs. And yes, maybe a more advanced Casio can do these things, it's still the keyboard player who makes a synth sounds good or bad. Post some of your own stuff in stead of giving such comments.
