  • very informative and helpful!

    +1 like and favorite!

  • But how you get them away. I hate slime

  • Wont the slimes drown, considering they cannot swim?

  • @XlVulc4nlX they can they just cant jump

  • the slime in the beginning died because of a "sticky" piston that may have been his brother one time... that's ironi isn't it?

  • @challekalle98 Hehe never thought about it like that

  • how are we supposed to have a sticky piston if we don't have any slimes

  • @ccv972 ...what is the very first step I mention in this video? I believe it involves finding slimes. And what do slimes drop?

Even if you don't get a slime ball from that first slime, you're making a SLIME FARM and you don't need the slime ball until the very end. So, if you don't have a slime ball by the end of this you're doing something wrong.

  • YOOUUU SICK BAAASTARDD :3 lol joke

  • @darkfire1211 Hehehe =p

  • does it work on 1.1?

  • @Jisethoktisi It should. The only issue is that mobs no longer move unless they are within 40 blocks of you. However, slimes are now able to spawn much higher so all you need to do is make this farm less than 40 blocks beneath the surface and it should work perfectly.

  • @madrc570 thanks, glad you enjoyed it =)

  • U can't get the f3 thing on Mac sorry ppl :( only works on windows

  • @legobatman747 There is a way to get that info up on a mac... but I'm not 100% sure

  • I tried bulding this. Got all the way up to the grinder part and for some reason when i try to click the corner of the sign to put the last bit of water in I cant. Water either just disapears out of the bucket or nothing happens depending on where I click. any ideas?

  • @Russell900 hmm, that is very strange... try placing a solid block adjacent to where you want to place the water, and then place the water against the solid block (and then remove the solid block). It's a little bit round-a-bout, but hopefully it will work

  • how do you get the menu thingy on a mac?

if i press f3 it gets an other function

  • @maarten2442 no idea - I've never used a mac

  • Whats up with mr.cow in the top left corner

    30:24

  • i found 2 slime chunks and implemented this desigh, works a charm. thanks for the vid. only problem is the tap. screws up on multiplayer but i tweeked it so it worked.

  • @ReaperMir no problem, happy to help =)

  • whos watching on 1.1?

  • @roblox1220 nahhh fuck 1.1 im on 12w06a!!!

  • will this still work in 1.1

  • @theguyinthered with a couple of minor adjustments, yes

  • is saw diamonds on the first platform

  • thats a lotta signs

  • @iivvoo12 it sounds like more than it is, trust me

  • Alot of work, could just have a lit room and do it manually....

  • @turkeychopio no, not necessarily - for one, slimes don't spawn in just any room. Second, this requires a little effort in the short term for almost no effort in the long term. The way you have mentioned requires little effort in the short term but MUCH more time and effort in the long time

  • the way you say "two" and "so" sounds ridiculous.

  • @fatwreckdsucks it's called an accent douchebag - deal with it

  • NOT AUTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MrLegenderyDK did it say auto?

  • @MrLegenderyDK ...where do I say that this will be an auto farm. In fact, I PURPOSELY made this manual. If you make it auto you will have a bunch of slime balls sitting in the collection area which will despawn.

If you make it manual, you have tiny slimes sitting there which don't necessarily despawn

  • Wow guys, think a little on your own!! Don't use glass and make some vert "steps" to prevent them from dropping back to the bottom. Have been playin with slime farms since they became useful and have used many variations of this trap VERY successfully! Static's one of the best minecrafters out there!!

  • @JAleksandr Great suggestions mate! Always good from someone who is willing to use some of their own brain-power =) Thanks for the kind words as well - very much appreciated =)

  • Thanks a lot! I don't like cheating, and I wouldn't like to use Single Player Commands to spawn slimes. Thanks for the tutorial.

  • @biteapple1999 I'm the same, not a problem =)

  • @777static777 Because then what's the fun in the game?

  • thank you very much!!

  • @538457142 you're very welcome =)

  • i just need 4 slimeballs, not a whole farm..

  • @HenkieRS If you only needed 4 slime balls, why did you watch the farming part of the video..

Plus, you never know, but you could need more slime balls later.

  • took forever to make this and it doesnt work -.- the new update makes it so they cant climb up the ladder very far and even if they do they glitch through the glass block so u have to kill it manually

  • @dajman10000 the glitching through the glass is an issue with multiplayer I believe (have never heard of this happening in single player).

As for the slimes not being able to climb the ladder, the issue is that mobs will no longer move if you are more than 40 blocks away. However, slimes can also spawn much higher now, so you can build this closer to the surface and it will work perfectly.

  • that's kind of weird i explored a hull fuckin cave by bedrock and no slimes what so ever

  • @KlownPenis yeah, this is because slimes are a very rare spawn. Chances are you have walked through several slime chunks but have not been lucky enough to come across a slime. You will find one sooner or later though =)

  • I have discovered a HUGE mine system and NO slimes at all, I need slimes to make sticky pistons and junk. When I find a slime I will kill it and use one slime on a sticky piston and the rest on a slime farm.

  • I have mined out a 60x80 large room and got no fucking slimes. At all.

  • @MannnisEi ever heard of slime chunk? idiot....

  • if you dint know:

when big slimes drown, they will split into 4 tiny slimes

now you can build farm at level 40 or below

if you dont have a sticky piston, you can use regular piston with sand or gravel on top of it

you can no longer use f3 to find slimes

thumb up, so people can see this

  • 5x5x3 CUBE...?

  • Anyone one notice the jumping cow at 30:18?

  • why are slimes so buggy?

they are jumping through the grinder...

  • @HornetDust because (I'm assuming) you're playing on SMP. Multiplayer is always a little buggy

  • I like how we need a sticky piston to make this

  • @piemasterp you can also use a normal piston, but the block above the psiton must be sand or gravel.

  • @piemasterp You don't need it at all to have the slimes spawn and farm them, it just makes you a lazy person to just have redstone do the work for you instead of breaking and replacing a block where said piston would put the block in.

  • @piemasterp well if you found slimes for the farm then you can kill them to get some slime...

  • @piemasterp you could use a piston and instead of glass use sand

  • @piemasterp i like how you find a slime before you need the sticky piston... -.-

  • @piemasterp ...what is the first step in making this farm? =p

    hint: find a slime

  • one of the best tutorials i have ever seen!@#$%^

  • @berad4444 thanks, glad you enjoyed it =)

  • @777static777

are the slimes redy to spawn at 11:00 ? if go go away '?

  • @eko653 possibly, but not many will spawn as the efficiency hasn't been boosted yet

  • HalllIiiiii LUJA i found a slime and when i make the farm the slimes dont spawn was so un happy :(

  • What are layers (or um levels). Someone told me its how many blocks above bedrock, is that true?

  • @Vcosh yes, it is

  • @Vcosh Yes, unfortunately :(

  • does this work in 1.1

  • @Alanraakaasiantuntia I haven't tried but I believe so

  • is it possible to kill them down and get the items up ?

  • @NeoUzzy possibly. The reason I don't do this though is that items will despawn but mobs are much more persistent

  • thumbs for the first little slime ^^

  • @DarkGaaraAngel up* :)

  • my room is way bigger i dont know why i did your steps but it looks longer

  • @TheDarrylz hmm weird =\ you might have miscounted somewhere

  • Do you want to know a easier way to get slimes?

    Choose Superflat world.

  • @EyvalxD yeah, but where's the fun in that?

  • Can you make this room and spawn slimes anywhere? or do I need some specific areas?

  • @Alekovic360 you need to be in a slime chunck, google it to learn more. pain in the ass to find them though

  • I just dug a 50x50 hole wait like 5 min for some to spawn and boom 10+ slimeballs...

  • @stat251097 that works... if you want to stand around waiting for your slimes =p

  • They should rename Slimes to Faps...

  • @dmr844 haha Minecraft: Adult

  • looks like someone has to much time on their hands, and by that i mean me... because i did it and it toook forever... but now it is much easier to make sticky pistons now!!!

  • @LoccXrateD Which is awesome - sticky pistons have to be one of the best items in the game

  • Awesome tutorial... LONG Process, but well worth it.

  • @tobyjoiner Definitely takes a lot of work but there is a high reward. Personally I like to do projects like this bit-by-bit over a long time, so it's not as monotonous =p

  • It took me 5 hours to build, but it was worth it. Nice vid:)

  • @65help56 thanks man, glad you found it useful =)

  • Slimes spawn on level 40 and below now and will eater go over ladders mow that they took the collision box out?

  • @TheTate182 from what I heard the collision boxes have been added again

  • im at 32X11 creating a box, i want to do it this way because its something you can be proud of when its finished, its a huge project, wich really stands out in your world showing off to your friends.

  • @XStreamGunz damn straight - that's one of the best things about making this farm; the sense of accomplishment

  • Ive bin making a cave, and im prety far alrdy, still i need to know, When do slimes spawn, on Peacefull easy normal or hard? Gotto know!

  • @XStreamGunz in my experience i only only seem to get them on normal or hard

  • @XStreamGunz Easy+

  • @XStreamGunz they should spawn on all difficulties except for peaceful

  • can you please make a tutorial video on how to make the mob farm for creepers and zombies shown in the video?

  • @gymgirlhavasu perhaps, although Etho has a couple of great tutorials on the topic

  • also if you want to see slimes just make a super flat world.

  • @notevenyo69 How???

  • If you don't want to use a sticky piston you can replace it with a normal piston and change the block it's moving from glass to sand/gravel

  • @cocnut20 that you can, although this doesn't look nearly as nice =p

  • I FOUND 1 SLIME SO I HIT IT, THEN A MILION CAME AT ME SO I RAN LIKE A CHICKEN

  • @COOLIO12376 hahaha =p

  • i found 1 slime i hit it then it was war :D LOL

  • i actually found 49 dimonds while doing this so tnt is not for me but i was extremely lucky i found like 8 viens and my ickaxe was anchanted so best of luck to yall.

  • @sushie11111 sounds like the farm is already paying for itself ; )

  • only just finished mining out the area and have 3 slimes, looks like i have good efficiency =)

  • @thegodlyparagon jackpot =)

  • By far the best slime finding video ive seen. Most videos i watch say 'just dig a 100x100x4 box and you will find a slime.' Or 'just cave run to find a slime and then kill them'

But here you not only show us how to find the slimes. You show us how to harvest the SOO easily. Thank you :P

  • @TheMinecraftPro88 My pleasure - always happy to go the extra mile =)

  • Google "Minecraft Slime Finder Extension" and click the 2nd. link labeled:

    "Minecraft Slime Finder - Extension"

    1. Press F3

    2. Put the long number by "seed" in the box on the site.

    3. Press "Update Map"

    4. Put the numbers by X and Z in the boxes on the site.

    5. Push "Go There"

It now puts where you where standing in the center of the map and labels all the 16x16 areas (called chunks) that you can find Slimes in.

    Hope this helps!

  • @Erican1000 or download the slime mod

  • cant find slimes

  • @SuperHunter730 try the app I mention

  • how the fuck do i get slime thingys i cant even find them on easy, normal an hard wtf

  • @sagey500 they're a rare mob. If you find one (or find out where they spawn) build your farm there and then boost the efficiency of the farm - you will start seeing more slimes than you know what to do with

  • Why after I built my farm, No slime spawn?

  • @Shawwarma You need to boost the efficiency

  • I DONT HAVE A SLIME BALL TO MAKE THE STICKY PISTON!!!

  • @alexandre9993 then use a normal one with sand or gravel

  • @RandomPope but i want the xp not the stuff

  • genius

  • This is like one of the easiest tutorials to follow. You did such an amazing job explaining everything and making it easy to understand. Thanks for this. =D

  • @Tonyman078 Thank you so much for the kind words =) it was my pleasure

  • the slimes keep getting stuck on my ladders going up to the surface

  • @thetravis0916 try and figure out where they generally start falling and put a horizontal section below this, then continue going vertically. The horizontal section will act as somewhat of a checkpoint

  • turn on CC, it's funny xD

  • @hatsjer hehe CC is always good for a laugh

  • its 6 days into my new minecraft world.

i already have a diamond pick and sword and ive been to the nether

i feel like i've done well

  • @TheEpicGamer62 sounds like you've made a lot of progress =)

  • Wow great video obviously lots of effort was put in. Thanks

  • @JabbleMr there certainly was, but it sounds as though it has helped a lot of people, so it was well worth the effort =)

  • glowstone is glass again so mobs cant spawn on it...

  • @ollii007 what a pain...

  • This was a helpfull tutorial. Will this work in 1.0.0 ?

  • @bloodth987 with a couple of tweaks, yes, it should. Mobs no longer move unless they are within 40 blocks of you but slimes are also able to spawn much higher, so you will need to build this farm within 40 blocks of the surface, keeping in mind it has to be low enough to spawn slimes

  • I'm going to build this right now, but I will build a room for the slimed to go into. Cute little things

  • @AquaMouse100 hehe yeah, I usually keep one or two as pets

  • anyone think this is a little fucked up?

  • @forgottenbow nope =p

  • damn i get over 20 slime baalls a minute

  • @wise10wise10wise it's pretty nuts eh? =)

  • great way to spawn slimes

  • This was an insanely good tutorial. Why in the world would people dislike it?

  • @Boltxhardrock *shrugs* I guess people like slimes and see this as an atrocity =p

  • Sweet video, :D and thanks, 3 days of work and the farm is finish, work well :D

1 houre and me and my team have 20 slimeballs from this type of farm! :)

  • @CFragtrup2 awesome, glad to hear you're getting good results =D

  • ty but i dont have time to do all that xD

  • @tuka99norway hehe no problem. Projects like this are best done little bits at a time

  • it doesnt work the slimes cant climb all the way up the ladder :(

  • @dajman10000 if they're climbing the ladder but not making it all of the way up, put in a horizontal section below where they usually start going back down, and then continue vertically. The horizontal section will act as a checkpoint

  • wow... this is the best video ever!

i have been watching slime farms for weeks (being completely ameture to the game and needing to learn the trade) this totally helped me so much!

i have to try this ASAP!

  • @darthmichael7 glad to have helped. Keep in mind though that this was made a long time ago and so some details may have changed

  • i did it 35 from the center in two diretions but it covers 2 chunks that have slime spawning is it ok if i make the channels then when i find the center i put all the grinders and aliger?

  • @chozenone61 sure =)

  • ur so smart

  • @Doritoes1000 thanks for the kind words =)

  • Genious

  • @taemncgodamd Thanks mate =)

  • so 35 from the center or across from both sides?

  • @chozenone61 both sides

  • The aligner doesn't seem to work in 1.0.0

  • @flailingwings Why?

  • @flailingwings it will probably be due to the fact that mobs no longer move if they are more than 40 blocks away from you. To fix this you will need to build your farm closer to the surface.

  • @777static777 Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. ^^
