@hangtime23ful After three straight years of running all the way to the finals, you might as well add 3-4 years to all of those numbers. Look at the Lakers this past season after three straight years playing into the finals. It was like the entire team aged five years. Detroit got a round deeper in year four that the Lakers did,but it was the same situation. The gas runs out at a certain point whether you're 25 or 35. I should have clarified "old" as in games in that span rather than actual age.
Also, the infamous "walk off" after the sweep in 1991 is the lowest of the low in Detroit Piston basketball lore,at least that of which took place on the court and not in the stands. Zeke had the drive of a champion, the grit of a champion, but unfortunately didn't know how to lose like a champion. Thankfully Joe D still had his spine and took the loss like man. Isiah is my favorite player of all-time,but I lost a lot of respect for him that day.
As a Pistons fan that evidently at least watched the games, there was no "fix" in 91. Detroit was old, they were banged up,and Chicago was ready to pounce, Detroit was their roadblock, they ran through it. No need to try and make excuses for Thomas and company...they were DONE. Period. Isiah was never the same after 1990,Detroit brass knew it too as they almost dealt him to the Knicks before he decided to retire. It was Chicago's time, they ceased it.
I'm a Pistons fan but the truth is Isiah helped fix 1991 and walked off because of what he was made to do. He will never admit it but clearly if you have eyes watching all the old school games seeing his performance vs. Chicago during 1988-1990 in the regular season and playoffs, then flip over to 1991 seeing how he played - he was in on it.
Ah, the memories. I really enjoyed that rivalry. Both were great teams.

The NBA on CBS sucked. I'm glad it went over to NBC.

Pistons rule! They should've done something about their age on the team before the next season started.
