  • horrible mixing, and the song sucks too, but good upload and solo too.

  • sounds like a final fantasy fight song to me..to computerized

  • is there metal drumbeat for ezdrummer thats 6/4 timing?

  • I bought metalheads and very disappointed that when I load it up, it only loads 100mb not the rest of the kit, no toms, no snares. I can only use kicks and cymbals. So was a waste of money for me.

  • @sh00tmyself Actually there should be something wrong with your copy. It loads 300-something on mine and I have all the toms and everything. YOu might want to reinstall it or something

  • I really donlike the way they mix metal music.....

THe snare has to be ultra tight which is ok but in order to cut through the rest of the sound they hit it so hard that it loses its character. The double kick on the other hand is almost always crappy. So midi. Sounds as if the computer is stuck.

  • @riqyl32 I actually hate the modern kick really... that click is so nasty like a 8bit bass drum or something duh

  • Lowering the Room mic on DFH makes the entire kit sound much much much better.

  • the bass drum sound on DFH is to mushy for my taste

  • The dynamics sound so awkward.

  • guitars sound like pOoPoO

  • dkfh sounds so bad

  • horrible mixing..

  • @almostt623 I know as the description said: it's stock without any single mixing attempt. jsut to point out the volume levels and all the rest. at the end i have a mixed song with DFH already if you wanna give it a try

  • i like to use both...they are nice for different feels

  • @MilitantOldLady yeah but i found both are limited to what they have, one trick ponies as a lot of people say. tho im not complaining cause i've gotten everything out of em. now im using Addictive Drums however

  • @vendettav15

well i made myself a nice library with Ez drummer and its expansions....i find that DKFH is great on old sql thrash kind of songs because it has a dryer punch...i use Metalheads for my djent stuff....just because i like to think Haake is my drummer :D

the most surprising kit of all to me is the stock blue one...i use it for Led Zep kind of songs, it sounds killer

  • @MilitantOldLady nice! lol yeah Haate as a drummer eh? the blue one is good for soem acoustic/electric rock stuff you know . i totally love DFH's cymbals. hate that Addictive drums gives you only 3 cymbals. cmon 3???

  • @vendettav15

you can get around the cymbals problem by running 2 different kits....the blue one on one channel and a nother one on channel 2....its a bit tricky to line it all up, but it works well when you line up all the ques, though it can slow down your pc if you're doing it on an older one

  • @MilitantOldLady yeah ive doen it but that's quite heavy no the CPU. summed up with other plugins there it's too heavy and not practical...

  • @vendettav15

someone's gotto suffer for our art eh? :D

  • @MilitantOldLady haha true

  • hoy did you get those kicks with DFH?? trigged kicks.. I only have some normal and very empty kicks

  • @emiblindside you mean the ones at the end? i used some EQing with some triggered click yeah

  • @FawxNewbz sorry man but no, that'd be illegal, both are sold via Toontracks (dot) com if you are interested in buying :)

  • who guitar plugin did you use?

  • @needkolas didn't use any guitar plugins :). jsut EQing and time based effects

  • Comment removed

  • Your song at the end is cool! It's made with DFH isn't it? The kick sounds great, while in your demo of DFH it's aweful.

  • @TheWhiteCrow19 thanx, you can check some more songs by me in the link in my profile

the kick in the song is EQd and also carries an additional trigger sound. the kick in the demo is the stock kick without any additional editing

  • i alrady bought dfh....do u recommend me to buy this

  • @nitinlkoin1984 well if it was me i wouldn't really, DFH is more versatile than Metalheads, there's a llink to the article about these two i wrote in the description here :)

  • @vendettav15 thanks man

  • @nitinlkoin1984 no problem :)

if you got time check out my songs on my channel or the myspace link there, all with DFH until the new recordings

  • kick drum on the metal heads expansion sounds much better, DFH kick sounds a bit flabby lol

  • @lilfili123 yeah true! the metalheads also has got a kick trigger

  • I think both are good but I definatley prefer the snare offered with metal heads kit. I'm currently producing my album with DFH but aint fond of the snare, I'm to far in to go back now and start again with metal heads

  • @mellodge yeah metalheads has a nice snare, the kick is also nice but the hihat is crap to be honest

  • Drums should be mixed in channels separatelly, here there isn't much of that represented. It's the same as if you'd plug a guitar without any effects xD

Thanks anyways, we get some idea of the sound ;) i was just saying that to people who don't get it.

  • @baboonhunters oh yeah I actually agree with you, here i posted the bare stock sound using only the software. you can mix it each trac separately, since EZ does give you that option but it's just a bit of a hassle. for example Addictive Drums has got a mixer and a way more editing possibilities which is faster, no need to use bunch of VSTs and whatnot for each track, you jsut have everything in one BOX

  • when I read "Metalheads naked ... I alomst puked"

  • both sounds shit

  • Ive been playing around with Metalheads and so far I like DFH better. the bass drums are too boomy for me and uncontrollable. I have more control with the DFH and I get a better all around sound with it than I can with Metalheads. Superior gives the DFH a really good sound. gonna have to do some more playing around with Metalheads.

  • You have guitar up WAY too loud in your mixes.

  • @tweekin001 well not in all thte mixes but yeah with the Metalheads. just trying to giev the idea of the all-stock sound :)

  • How do you get the triplet double bass notes in there without the snare? I've been looking at everything and I cannot find a note like that!

Along the lines of "duhduhduh... duhduhduh (double bass) bop (snare) thats the best I can do to try and explain what I am trying to get at lol

  • @whoshotya117 Hey, I just put three bass notes on the 36th note (if you know what im talking about, 36 is the number of the note for bass kick) I write all the drum parts on my own not from their libraries most of the time.

Anyways i don't think i quite understand what you mean. if you can post the minute/second when i have the beat there it could be maybe more helpful :)

    V

  • @vendettav15 0:37 - 0:43 is basically what I want to have in my songs my can't find those type of beat in the grooves menu.

  • @whoshotya117 oh that. well as I said I do not take it out of the groove menu and just write mine. what host are you using? you gotta do it in the MIDI editor

  • @vendettav15 I'm using Sony Acid Pro 7.0

  • @vendettav15 Idk where a MIDI editor is in acid pro

  • @whoshotya117 ooh i can't help you with Acid Pro. Never really used one. Im using Reaper and it's super awesome. but I'm thinking. if you drag the midi groove from the groove menu to the track and than double click it you'll get the piano roll/midi editor. at least that works in Reaper :)

  • Good comparison of dfh naked, however the level on the lead guitars needs to be drastically lowered, along with a little eq. Other than that, good work.

  • 1000 views guys! keep em coming and rate please!

  • mh is so perfect for my music

  • @hideki12345 hey there's a review available. check the info for the video ;)

  • Hey everybody, the review is up and running, check it out ;)

  • @vendettav15

what velocity are you using on teh kick, snare, ohs ?

  • @hideki12345 im sure it's all max most of the time. it really depends on the parts.. i dont really stick to one setting but rather go up and down

  • Thanks for posting this! I'd been looking for a decent comparison for a while...seems like the metalhead kit is more the sound I am looking for.

  • IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW YOU MIX IT.......

  • @Deadnsd indeed. the idea behind the comparison was to have everything stock as said in the info. giving the listener the basic idea of how the kit soundss

  • @Deadnsd In a way, yes, but you can't mix dog shit to sound good. So no :P

  • @nettyswobb1 lmao.....sure u can it jus takes SKILL that only time will bring...keep at it ull see what i mean in a few years.

  • @Deadnsd I'm not saying I'm an expert at mixing or anything, cause I'm not. But, I know enough to know that if you want something to sound great, it has to sound great while your recording it, that way you make the sound perfect afterwards. If you think that just taking any old recording will suffice, cause you think you can fix it afterwards, then you should think again. It's common sense really, something is only as good as the parts that make it up.

  • @nettyswobb1 i already know all that

  • @Deadnsd ...of course you do :L

  • DFH sound a lot better IMO. MH is a bit... slow, or how would you say it, like very bubblegum like... not very crispy.

  • @Whydoyoureadme yeah i will agree with you

i am gonna have the review son cover all the pluses and minuses of both :)
