Can anyone tell me why some weapons im using (such as L30 gatling laser) look like a giant red caution sign? I know im doing something wrong but can someone tell me what to do? Thanks
Has anyone had the problem that upon turning off this mod, all metalic energy weapons had this horrible bright glow while inside rooms and in dark tunnels?
Didnt have it until I tried playing the game without the mod but now...its so annoying im tempted to reinstall the game or give up energy weapons entirely...
@Vildasnaga That's probably because the mod comes with new weapon meshes and textures that only work correctly when the mod is active. If you go into your Fallout 3/Data/Meshes folder and Fallout 3/Data/Textures folder, and look around for folders to do with weapons, you can delete the new meshes and textures and things will return to normal. (I'd suggest deleting everything in Meshes or Textures but I don't know what other mods you might be using.)
The only thing that pisses me off about this mod is that when you throw grenades in vats they miss. At least that is happening for me alot, and unfortunately one of my fav things in this game is watching a slow motion nade explosion with some bandit losing a limb : /
@MorteWulfe That's odd as there's nothing in the mod that should affect the accuracy of grenades. Indeed the mod doesn't change ordinary frag grenades at all. And in my own time playing the game with my mod grenades still seemed to function the same way they always did.
Is this the same as eve or an older version or something anyway where do i get the weapons from in eve does everyone get energy weapons or are the chance of getting them increased
wow really cool. i need to try this. especially the melting effect, that leave a pile of ash and a skeleton behind looks like in fallout 1 and 2 lol nice one
Sometimes I envy people who have Fallout 3 on Xbox or Pc. I have it on Playstation 3, and I STILL THINK it is the MOST LEGENDARY GAME OF ALL TIME!!! Yet, ppl on other consoles can cheat and DO SH*T LIKE IN THIS VIDEO!!! AAARRRRGGGHHH!!!!
Uhh... For some reason, I'm tempted to comment that this video seems... kinda' 1950-ish to me. Probably the music and all the laser fire... But otherwise, not a bad mod. >.> Now if someone could find out Infinity Ward's secret to their crisp, smooth gameplay in their COD games and put that in Fallout 3... Ah, oh well. Probably requires a graphics engine that only IW really have access to.
I'm going to go ahead and assume that you're a bit slow rather than trying to be ironic. Fallout is intentionally 1950s-ish, that's kind of the point of the whole series. It is based on the "World of Tomorrow" type TV shows that were popular in the 50s that speculated that hover cars and robot helpers were 20 years away
As for COD...it is easy to make a smooth crisp game when it consists of nothing but set pieces, tiny maps and a handful of scripted AI.
First, I'd like to thank you for not outright insulting me, and say that yes, there are times where I am a bit slow. I do own a copy of the game, however. What I had meant in my comment was that it seemed kinda' 1950's-ish even for Fallout 3. So, in a sense, I suppose I made a semi-ironic statement. And I do enjoy Fallout 3. Heck, I downloaded all the DLCs for it. As for COD, I hadn't realized it was so simple, yet limited. Thanks for informing me.
Simplicity in itself isnt a bad thing.Knowing when to take shortcuts is a key part of game design. The main reason that Fallout 3 feels so clunky/is so full of bugs is that Bethesda has overly ambitious in their design
A good example would be the caravans. Most developers would just have them teleport to each settlement to avoid potential problems.Bethesda chose to have the caravans physically move between towns, which while immersive, can cause issues and uses resources unnecessarily
Quite true, quite true. Fallout 3 does seem full of bugs, and it does feel a little clunky. If I had any issues with them, though, I wouldn't play the game. And since I still play it, I haven't had much to complain about.
Yes, the caravans probably would have been done better 'teleporting' from place to place, just to avoid the problems they face in F3. Then again, as you said, it is immersive, so maybe that's the element they were going for. Not sure, myself.
Well yes, thats what I mean.Developers like Bethesda value the simulated, open world"do anything you want"gameplay over pretty much anything else.Which personally I love but you could argue that they go too far. They create quest issues and performance problems that could easily have been avoided if they just let up a little on having to have everything simulated
There are other developers that do it as well, and they have the exact same problems.Bohemia (ArmA) and GSC Games (Stalker) for example
The planes in Arma are a pretty good example. They are completely simulated as opposed to being a scripted event like COD.When you call in an airstrike in COD its just an animation that cant be interacted with in any way.In Arma it is an object in the world
This means that the plane can be shot down,it can hit the ground, collide with other aircraft, the pilot can be shot through the cockpit, etc.But at the same time, all that costs CPU cycles,RAM and thousands of lines of code that need debugging
@MrEsamea Did you read the "readme" file, or the Fallout 3 Nexus mod description page? Has detailed installation instructions. You'll need the program Fallout Mod Manager.
@MrEsamea Have you used Archive Invalidation? Fallout Mod Manager has a button you press "Archive Invalidation", press that once and forever afterwards fallout 3 should be mod-ready. (Without Archive Invalidation the game will not use any new textures, so this is essential for most Fallout 3 mods.)
@Pahoskentelija Obviously in the trailer I only show the final shots that kill someone, to show off the special effects - the weapons aren't one-shot-kill, they are balanced to fit the other weapons in the game.
Dous EVE give you all the cool sounds and guns or did u change them if so wut are thos 2 pulse guns(the pistol explodes like a pulse grenade and the rifle 2)
@TheScientificBackpac I changed the sound effects. I didn't like the sound effects that were in EVE. Most of the new sounds I put in were from Fallout 2 or Fallout Tactics. The pulse pistol and pulse rifle are from Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics, EVE has a version of them as well. (Although when I first released EWE there wasn't a pulse rifle in EVE yet)
@EvanCwiertknee EWE is the sequel to weijiesen's EVE, made with weijiesen's blessing. EWE overhauls weapon and ammo balance to make energy weapons more useful, includes all the classic Fallout energy weapons (including several not in EVE) and has them as common weapons rather than just unique weapons, has better retextures for most of the weapons, and includes Stormfront Studios Presents features like skeletonisiation, including the ability to skeletonise dead bodies by zapping them.
I made new textures (skins) using the art program GIMP, while the models/meshes were made by other people, if you check out the mod's page/readme file you'll see a credit list of who made everything. :)
The link to the page you can download the mod is in the video description. My mod adds the weapons to to the lists of weapons used by enemies and found throughout the game world, so wherever you find a normal laser rifle, there is a chance you might find a different type of laser added by my mod. (The pulse pistol and pulse rifle are rare weapons that sometimes replace plasma guns.)
Also, as you can see in the video, I gave a laser pistol to one of the security guards in Vault 101.
Great video! Textures and effects are awesome! The thing that amazed me mostly, was Pulse Rifle. In FOOK2 Pulse Rifle got laser projectile, so FOOK will borrow from EWE textures and projectile? And if you can do it, make pulse weapons do more damage to robots and Power Armored units.
Thanks! I already have pulse weapons doing extra damage to robots, and I am thinking of giving them a bonus against power armor too, although that is a bit more complicated. When first released EWE won't replace any of FOOK stuff, but hopefully the FOOK team will incorpoate EWE into FOOK, in the same way that the original EVE mod got incorporated into FOOK. Alternatively, I should be able to make a special FOOK compataible version of EWE.

@yourevilclone None really other than EWE, the DLC content and a mod that adds more songs to GNR.
