  • Does it work with ipod touch?

  • @Epikomix Yep, it does! Just a heads up - the next version will require iOS 5, which I believe is available for iPod Touch 3rd gen and above.

  • @taberbuhl Cool! Thanks, dude, I'm getting an iPod touch soon so I was just wondering. :)

  • @Epikomix Awesome! You should be all set then. If you have any probs feel free to send me a message.

  • Taberuhl, then if it's definitely coming to the next version consider yourself 2$ richer or however apple works that out.. Thanks for the fast response too!

  • @SkylineTTurbo Awesome, thanks! To be honest, I'm not sure when the next version will be out - it's going to be a major update!

  • Taberbuhl it's nice to see a dev stand behind his product with such affirmation... I'll definitely pick up the app regardless of how my question is answered, just to support guys like you who do the right thing so here goes... I've desperately been searching for an app that will play animated gifs... If giffer does that by just importing them into its main library that would be great or by some other means that would be nice too... If not could you possibly point me in the direction of an app t

  • @SkylineTTurbo Thanks a lot! I appreciate it. There's no way to do that in the current version, but the next version will be able to. The only other app that I think may be able to download and view GIFs is "iTim Text MMS Messenger" but I don't own it so I don't know for sure, and it's a bit pricey.

  • is there anyway you can set the GIF as a background on your iphone?

  • Yes there is, but you would need a jailbroken phone. There are some videos on youtube on this.

  • hi just wondering what your elance or odesk ID is, I'm trying to link this video back to an application but just can't find it amongst them all. please contact me if you can

  • its two dollars:( im poor

  • @OohEmGeeItsTaylor aw, i hear ya. to put it into perspective though, it's about the price of a 16 oz can of soda.

  • Sorry for another problem but i cant select mutiple photos Please is there a bug or something

  • @LitedPixel Hey there, hmm, you should be able select multiple photos after approving location services for the app (check in your Settings app under "Location Services" -> "Giffer!"). Also make sure you're using the latest version from the App Store. Hope that helps.

  • @taberbuhl no still not working though let me re-installing maybe it might work cuz the thing kept freezing

  • @LitedPixel hmm, must be a bug then, i'll have to investigate. what kind of device (and what generation) are you using? (eg: ipod touch 4g? etc.) hopefully reinstalling will do the trick, sorry about that.

  • @taberbuhl Ok thanks i fix it i reformatted my phone and install and allow the location thingy, and fix it Thx for the quick repond

  • @taberbuhl What is the difference between stop motion movies and GIFs? And what does GIF stand for?

  • @dikitarak2000 GIF = "Graphics Interchange Format" and is just a file format. There are several image file formats (eg: JPG or PNG) but GIFs are special because they have self-contained animation info & are playable in any web browser, email apps, etc. Stop motion is one style of video/animation (not exclusive to GIFs) where you make a video by stringing together a series of still frames. Most animated GIFs made by giffer! are stop motion, but you can also use it to make little slideshows, too.

  • I got the app and it is great, but how do you send videos to youtube?

  • @dikitarak2000 giffer! creates animated GIFs which are not the same as videos, (No sound possible, etc.) therefore there's no way to share them via youtube.

  • Nice, and very clean interface i see. Does it have an option to use the camera and take a photo burst?

  • @Raphaelus13 Thanks! Right now there is no option to use the camera for photo bursts but I hope to add that in a future version.

  • @Raphaelus13 Very CLEAN interface I must say. If you want to make pics using camera or burst mode, check out pickl on the App Store. It allows creation with the camera and it's free.

  • Ok heres the Deal I have the apps its great But When i do a animation, there somthing wrong i clicked on the"ok lets see button" alls good very nice but when i exit the Thing and try to relook there is always a black frame that always pop up when there is a loop in between

  • @LitedPixel Thanks, glad you like it! So you're seeing a black frame that appears in the middle of your animation when switching back into the app? I just tried that out and I'm not seeing it on my iPhone 4. I'll send you a message and try to get your device specs, etc. Thanks for reporting it.

  • @LitedPixel Good to hear it was just a corrupt photo/image you were using! Thanks!

  • Comment removed

  • @LitedPixel please Help PLEASE

  • This thing crashed hard. Waste of time + $

  • @Jmccain1881 Could you please give me some more details on the crash so I can try to fix the problem? What type of device and OS version are you using? How many frames was your animation? Apple will definitely refund your $ if you're unhappy, but I'd like to try to help you out.

  • Whew! I thought I was losing my mind picking one photo at a time until I read comments, authorized location then chose 39 photos at once! Great app Taber!

  • @zappr5 Thanks, glad you like it!

  • You really have to fix this problem.

I just spent about 20 minutes clicking every single photo one by one (63 photos)

    to make a gif.

When I was done and clicked save, the app just quit and I had to start over.

    Very annoying.

  • @bibimcmacky - Sorry to hear that! I'll definitely look into it. I've tested adding over 63 photos successfully using the custom (multiple) photo picker, but I don't think I've tested adding that many with Apple's default/single photo picker. I'll send you a message, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

  • @bibimcmacky - A couple of things that help prevent crashes of any app are 1. Reboot iPhone after installing new app. 2. Reboot iPhone daily and after sync with iTunes because rebooting tends to help every aspect of iPhone. 3. Make sure you're properly closing your background apps.

  • @bibimcmacky The next version of giffer! - version 1.3 was just submitted to Apple 2 days ago. As soon as Apple approves it, this should be fixed. Thanks for letting me know.

  • Hang on, in this ad it shows it highlighting all the photos and selected them all together. In the actual app (which I bought) you have to select them separately.

    What gives?

  • @bibimcmacky - You'll need to approve the location permission dialogue to be able to select multiple photos. The reason is that Apple forces this permission alert for direct access to the user's photo library through their SDK. If someone denies it, they will only be able to use Apple's default/built-in photo picker, which only allows people to pick one photo at a time. Hope that helps.
