what is the filter do you place into the provided basket? I've had a heck of a time getting my ecmp50 to work properly. I keep having the water leak out the front of the basket, right at the notch where it meets the handle Any suggestions?

I also own an ECMP50. But I need to know what I can do to get the best "Espresso Experience" (EE) out of it. Is the plastic scoop/tamper all you need? Are 3rd party tampers better? What brand of coffee is best (espresso grind, of course)? I always get specifically Espresso roasts (we buy Cafe La LLave), assuming you can only make proper espresso from an espresso roast. How much tamping pressure do you need, since the filter basket are pressurized (single pinhole in the bottom)?
If great flavor and LOTS of foam is what you're looking for, this machine will give it to you. I used the Starbucks Italian roast beans that I ground with my Mr. Coffee grinder. I've tried espresso in Italy and at Starbucks, and what I made in this pot is the best I've ever had. With all that cream on top, it's the holy grail of Espresso. Do not purchase the $40 Mr. Coffee steam driven espresso machine. It was crap and I returned it to Wal-Mart and upgraded to this wonderful pump driven machine.

@NckthGrk I had that. You have to turn the handle/arm all the way to the right (past middle). You can't have the coffee packed to tightly either.
