when i listen to elvis' early music,it's like i feel the atmoshere of memphis in the music and elvis' voice.jim croce has away of takin you to place or time in his music.elvis and sam philips did the same thing.elvis was super great by himself,i only wish elvis and sam had stayed together.sam had an ear for feeling.elvis had away of putting it out.noone has ever put more feeling in a song than E.ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVE COME CLOSE,BUT THEY CANT DO IT ON A CONSISTANT BASIS,LIKE E.
It was a TV - Mini-Series on CBS tittled " Elvis, the Early Years " .
It was either 13 or 14 episodes adn starred Michael St. Gerard as the young Elvis and he was handpicked by Priscilla Presley forthe role because he looked the most and acted the most exactly like young Elvis. Ronnie McDowell did all the singing of the songs in the movie.
he have an error in the movie because this song was singing by elvis presley in 1976(at the end of his life) and in this movie the ''elvis'' sing this song but he's look elvis presley in de 60's years (sorry if you dont understand my english because im a french canadian
i sung this song to my wife when like most men that piss there wifes off with our stupidy. we have to climb out of the dog house and fellas im telling you its works women will forgive most things to a point anyways.if your curious she got mad at me for forgetting our first date anniversy i mean come on it was 1995 august 5th i know it by hart now.anyways i can sing slow songs pretty good so i waited for her to go to bed and she was pissed. i got the guitar turned the lights dwn low and sung it
Holly cow, Michael St. Gerard looks actually like Elvis, and if you didn't tell me, and if I didn't know it I would swear I was looking at the man himself. And Ronnie’s singing is just amazing. I wish I could see the whole show now, because this gets me in the mood for it.
Its surprising to me that this WAS a weekly series and never made a 2nd season, so they turned it into a tv movie. Personally If given a chance by the public, I believe it'd gone at least 3-5 yrs!
It was the eyes that made Michael St. Gerard look so much like Elvis. It was like how Michael Jackson's eyes looked alot like Diana Ross even before all the surgeries.
I have a performance coming up and i wanted to sing this song, and i was wondering if anybody knew what key this song is being sung in this video, it seems to suit my voice best, if anyone has any information where i can get sheet music or even karaoke in this key i would really appreciate it. Thank you
@STRATOCAST05 you cant buy this version of this song on karaoke it was recorded like this just for the Tv show, Elvis didnt record this in the fifties...you can only get the Elvis sixties version called "Pledging my love" its a bit different to this version but still very good...the song is sung in the key of "D" major cheers
It actually was a TV series back in 1990... They created between 10 - 15 episodes but only aired a few. It was an awesome look at Elvis as a young entertainer, although was panned by critics. Some fans loved it, like I did, but there was not enough support to keep it on the air. Mr. St. Gerard portrayed Elvis very well.
@KaraokeKen1968 I still can't believe they canceled this show because of a joke like "THE SIMPSONS". "THE SIMPSONS" ratings have been sh*t for years and they still show it on FOX. Had they given "ELVIS" a chance it would've garnered better ratings but network executives are fickle and lose interest quickly if a show doesn't do great it's first time on the air.
@AaronK33 WRONG! It was a CBS TV Mini-Series tittled , " ELVIS, the Early Years " and starred Michael St. Gerard as young Elvis, who was picked for the role by Priscilla Presley because he looked so much like the young Elvis.
You're welcome. I'm looking online right now for the soundtrack. I met Ronnie McDowell on the "Elvis Cruise" last week and he is wonderful. Maybe I'll send him an E-mail to see if he knows where we can get this soundtrack. I'll let you know when I get a response.
Sweet, I love how he sung this song. Sounds just like Elvis himself. I would love to know where to get this SoundTrack at. I have this movie on tape. Wanna get it on DVD now...Ray "J"
