just read your manga the moment after i watched this vid. Now i know what Rhysmyth is. XD anyways, your manga is awesome, i find it's plot interesting.
This may have been asked before, but what format is your imported image in? I've tried .jpg, .png, .pbm, and none seem to be readable to my manga studio. I bought this thing to make the comic process easier, but it's been doing nothing but chapping my ass!
have you published your manga yet ? cos I am new in that and I want your advice
should I re size the page after I finish my work ? or it should be before add tone and stuff ? because I hear from my friend that if I re size the page after finishing, it will effect on the tone accuracy >> I don't know what to do
@subaru2022 Yes, you should re-size the page to the final print size before adding tone. My manga is published by Tokyopop. You can find it on Amazon or Tokyopop website. :)
There is the black market version you can get. I heard pirates can get it for you pretty cheap. Arrgh! Be careful of the ones with the peg legs, they tell long stories.
Ah, I was wondering how to import stuff, thanks ^-^ But, whenever I import my sketched pics and stuff, it always shows up, then the lines become really faint, and I can only make out the darker lines of my sketch D: Does anyone know how to make it focus on the picture normally?
I think i know what u mean, i jst bought this yesterday, and when i imported it, i couldnt see it clearly, ok, well what i did was when u import ur picture, a box will pop up right ,labled properties. There are tabs on this box, it should be on the Position adjust tab, click the one to the left of that,:the image tab, then go to layer type, it must be on raster layer, but it SHOULD be on sketch layer, so click it and change it to sketch layer. I rly hoped this helpd :D
Just bought Debute 4, and was getting too frustrated with the so called "user manual and quick start guide".!! It goes on about the EX version at lot, which is not useful at all.. (Unless it's a case of "look what you could have, you mean sod!")...
This Video helped a lot, and I wish Smith Micro could do these types of tutorial on YouTube, hopefully keeping the lessons restricted to both Manga Studio Debute AND EX separately!!
hey umm does any professional manga artist actully made money making manga's with this software 100 semms like a big investment for a program that lets you import pictures =P
I totally agree... And if I find someone identity who's using something like this, making money off it... well... I know that this someone will have his ass kicked.
This program is one which cost the less and offer a great deal, even the debut version!
It only cost me approx. 100$, while living in one of the most taxable country on earth for the debut version. (52$ for the product, 28$ for shipping outside US, 16$ for the shipping in the country)
On top of that, Ex allows you to put and control colors which Debut is restricted to black&white tones. And Ex is able to handle some more types of files and offer greater professionnal options like the control over the PDF creation and control of inks and printing preferences.
essentially they pretty much both have what you need, debut has a few less handy tools but nothing important. the only thing you lose out on is the cool pressure sensitivity when working with a graphics tablet. its not as good with debut
but I have a qeustion about the sketch and inkt?? I import a image and make a new layer for the inkting but when I select the pen/marker/pencil or something else it stays bu the hand ??? the program does as if I did not select something else ->.-> man this is not funT.T anyone can help me?
>_< thanks you soo much for this! I have the program but cannot really use it because I dont know how lol Ive looked at the manual thats under the help windiw but its useless at times lol
( debut verson) I try and import a picture but it always says' 'no items match your search' even though I'm in my photo folder

senatorpadme 3 years ago
i've got somewhat the same problem, what's yours do? mine lets me get it on the page but it never lets me modify the size if the imported picture
Elleron77 3 years ago
it doesn't read the scans, if i save the file it refuses to select anything, i don't know what to do! :(
and the changing the size? forget it! I'm so lost on that thing...
senatorpadme 3 years ago
i'd say its a printer problem do you go to file, import,Twain then it scans it? i think that it's file anyway...
Elleron77 3 years ago
If you have the debut version : There are the restrictions :
For PC : Only jpeg and bmp format is working in importing.
For MAC : bmp, jpg, psd, tga, pict and tiff
At least, that's what's saying inside the box.
donoghu 3 years ago
I know, but it won't let me open ANYTHING. It's all just grayed out, even the jpg, bmp, and picts, everything.
*sigh* it's very frustrating.
but thanks for your help

you could download it off of a torrent, but the file itself, you gotta extract it using magicISO
Flameshadow1010 3 years ago
is there any significant difference between EX and Debut?
Flameshadow1010 3 years ago
Debut has 1800 tones and EX has 3000 tones
Kafaru 3 years ago
then i'm glad i got EX
Flameshadow1010 3 years ago
also EX has a more complicated interface which allows you to control the style of your materials more precisely
