  • poor sybil. it's sad when the bad and sad stories in life are always caught on in the aftermath after all's been said and done.

  • The song is New order - Elegia ;)

  • if you have this movie, PLEASE POST THE WHOLE THING!!!! or just the piano music in it.

  • u love that piano music don't u. but it is eerily catchy.

  • This song was used in the movie, "Pretty in Pink"

  • I love the bookkkk...soooo much...

  • Great movie, but hard to watch without tears.

This song is also great. Have some records of them. But Sybil the movie dvd and book are stil on my wanted list. Only see the movie on my pc.

  • I saw a made-for-TV remake and I've been looking for more info about it since then. It's a beautiful yet tragic story.

  • I would love to learn more about this, are there any other REAL videos not some stupid ppl making fun of this i want REAL???? Please help

  • i wonder what shirley mason thought of this movie. i havnt been able to find any quotes or anything. i wonder if she thought it was accurate

  • If you research it, she actually suggested Sally Fields to play the part. She said something along the lines of, no one could portray Peggy's anger better than Sally Fields. From everything I've heard she was very happy with the movie.

  • the woman the book is based on died in 1998, Mason died of breast cancer at the age of 75,her real last name is Mason,? so how did you hear from her??????it is sad and i hope sybil (Shirley Ardell Mason)the real woman finally can rest her soul no longer tormented by the pain she felt.

  • I didn't say I heard from her, I said from what I've heard, in other words, READ. Read the book and it states that Shirley Mason suggested Sally Field for the part back in 1976.

  • espero que puedan pasarmela completa si alguien de ustedes la tiene con subtitulos o en español o doblada al español, por favor la necesito para una tarea, soy de mexico estado colima un saludo a todos espero respuesta pronto.

  • I finished the book a couple of days ago and I loved it. Most moving story I've ever read. I've seen the newer version of the movie...but, I want to see this version..I can't wait =]

  • There's a newer version? I didn't know that. Oh well, this version's AMAZING.

  • i cannot find this song on limewire of via myspace, what's wittttth that hahahahahah

  • Anyone know the name of the actress who play Dr.Willbur?

  • nevermind, i find out the name:)

  • It was Joanne Woodward who played Dr Wilbur. She also played Eve in the movie "The three faces of Eve" - which she got an Academy Award for.

  • Thanks:)

  • SHe must enjoy doing psychotic movies.

  • anyone know where i can get the movie? Is it out on DVD?

  • There is a 30 year Anniversary double disc version of the mini-series available through Amazon - so possibly also at through online auctions, a book or video shop. It has additional features like interviews with Sally Field and some of Mason's artwork.

  • I've seen it in Target

  • Do you know how much it cost?

  • I think they have it for like $20...you may be able to find it at a used movie store too.

  • I am now reading the book about Manson. It scare the crap of me but i can't put the book down at all, cuz it so fascinating and interesting.

  • I've heard that Dr Wilbur exploited Mason in some way, but from how she's portrayed in the movie, it seems she really genuinely cared about Mason. They were friends for the rest of their lives! That says something, to me!

  • i loved the movie but is was mean

  • Shirley Mason "Sybil" i just found out died in february 26 1998

  • ... Sybil is a REAL person. Her real name though is Shirley Ardell Mason.

  • i saw this movie and it was awesome i will try and download for you guys.

  • This song was in Pretty in Pink too

  • This song was in Pretty in Pink too

  • i've read the book and i'm very very very glad that they left out a majority of the stuff that happened in the book out of the movie. they couldn't have shown that stuff on tv at all.

  • honestley i didnt like this movie.. it barely shows anything that actually says in the book. they changed the story entirely.. it was dissapointing to me... loved the book though...

  • After years of frustration, I finally just had to accept that films and novels have their own way of telling the same story. Valley of the Dolls, Sybil, Carrie. The Exorcist and 1984 are the only 2 (I've read) that come close to being the same.

Just enjoy them both. Divorce yourself from the story (in the movie) and enjoy the performances and production.

  • you're right, some book based movies really suck, but others are really good movies despite the fact they had murder the book to write the screenplay.

  • The dvd is out is its entirety, it has all the missing scenes and every ting

  • can anyone tell me where i can download this movie? i need it for my psychology project, plz?

  • I just finished reading this amazing book a couple of days ago. One of the most moving stories I have ever read. Saw the movie immediately afterwards, too.

My eyes are filled with tears, not much else to say... You did an excellent job, and I really liked the song too.

  • Can anyone upload this movie for me. I'd really like to see it.

  • we watched this in human thought and behavior

    great movie

sally field is so awesome in this movie

she should've won an oscar for that performance!

  • I totally agree! She was sooooo good in this movie! and the girl who plays her as a kid is so cute!

  • Because it was originally a made for TV movie she did win an emmy. She had previously played a character with multiple personalities, for that role she did win a oscar.

  • Actually, Sally Field won the Emmy, but it was Joanne Woodward (who played Dr. Wilbur) who won the Oscar for playing a person with Multiple Personality Disorder - the movie was The Three Faces of Eve.

  • oh so joanne played someone with DID? in the three faces of eve?

  • thanx

  • great movie!!!!

  • Jesus I am crying... this is so painful to watch... I am still not able to seat and watch the whole movie.. it tears me apart..

  • Okay since you saw the movie did Sybil's mom and dad die or is the mother in comatose? I haven't seen the movie

  • What's the name of this song? I would love to have it.

  • The song is by New Order. Can't recall the name of the song, but I think it's listed in the info here for this video clip. The same song was used in the movie "Pretty in Pink" too.

  • Thanks for that. Very well done. I've read the book, but haven't seen the TV movie for ages.

  • They are making a remake of this movie, it's too soon to make a remake

  • It's been 30 years...

  • Already that long?

  • that would be interesting!

  • oh, you're a star! Can you post the link(s) when you're ready? I know plenty of others who'd like to see the movie as well.

  • As a dissociative disorder freak, I'd love to see the movie. If someone really feels like uploading it, I'm more than grateful. And this "trailer" was very well done! I liked it.

  • It would be really great if someone could upload this movie.

  • I can try

  • Please do. I really want to see it again. Thanks.

  • I probably can after I get a couple of other movies finished

  • Alright

  • Did you know the real Sybil died in 1998?

  • yeah, and her name isn't really sybil

  • I know it's Shirley Mason

  • I like how the therapy sessions went outside of the office, and into a beautiful park setting, as in the last scene. It seems the director took into account the fact that the big crux of Sybil's disorder was too big for a small office environment. As to give the movie a big finish.

  • This is one of my fav movies... so creepy and sad!!

  • amazing, heart breaking tear jerker, love it.

  • very very nice work...

  • please make another video i am trying to explain the greatness of this film to my friends

  • dude, this is killer.

  • i just love the person who put this video up. I've been trying to get the video, but can't seem to find it. Sally fields is amazing!

  • Can you please tell me where you got these clips from to make this? I would really appreciate it!

  • I do "sybil" as a cut in Dramatic interpretation, i perfrom as sybil and doctor wilbur along with all the personalities, thank you so much for putting this up ^.^ it makes me happy that someone else appriciates Sally fiel'd amazing performance in this movie

  • Love this movie!!

  • Totally amazing performance from sally, stood her in good stead for her role as Abbeys mam in ER all those years later. Good Girl!!

  • Sally Field once said she could never watch that movie after she made it.

  • I loved this! Great job.

  • sally field is FABULOUS in this movie...and its a really good movie, but frankly, i like the book better

  • Sally Field gives an amazing performance

  • Incredible! The most intense movie I have ever seen and truly a classic!

  • most powerful movie ive ever seen. a cracking performance by SF

  • awesome awesome awesome.

    definately Sally Field's best film..

  • It was a horrific movie. I know how it feels to suffer from a dissociative disorder. It's a great defense mechanism when your young...to shield you from either physical or emotional/mental abuse.

I cried every time I saw the movie..brought back awful memories myself

  • This is the most traumatizing movie ever. It tortures me and yet I've watched it a hundred times.
