This film introduces Sitchen as a "world renown archeologist, linguist and expert in the field of cultural anthropology." and it's a flat out lie. He was none of those things. Learned people who have struggled for degrees in these fields cringe when they hear BS like this. Sitchen, in fact, graduated from the London School of Economics. He was a low level book-keeper and that's it!
Whether it be fact or fiction it is really interesting! I believe that there is something to this, and I think that we should keep our minds open about the origins of our species. I encourage people to read up on the history of Mesopotamia cause it is fascinating. Don't worry about not agreeing with everything on the subject. Thank you for posting this video! It was awesome!
When i used to go to elementary school i didnt understand why i had to learn about all those gods of ancient civilizations when they never existed, i didnt understand why ancient ppl thought up such a stories why they built pyramides and why they had such a strange letter but now im amazed of that all the time!
@MrSYSTEM20 i think that gods were actually aliens, they came from skies and were developed thats why they were called gods and btw i dont like anything like religion
@MrSYSTEM20 Me too....... I try not to mind being laughed at, but it's gettin harder. Beginning to feel like Cassandra, who knew the truth but couldn't tell anyone.
There is a group of original 'seeding humans' who came to our planet, and they were duplicated by an evil group, only to be 'chewed out and called the evil ones' in this false 'his-story' This is still the "modus operandi"... to this day!... We need to ask what groups on today's Earth want to 'push' this false information???? The loving originator seed humans came from the Light.....Go and find out for yourself!...
Such a bunch of mugs believing the industury that Sitchin created. If they ever delved into the subject they would find that they were fooled into believing fiction, good fiction written round old mythology (like Marvels 'Thor' or 'Hercules') if you like that sort of thing but fiction non the less.
I am a Hindu and the so called mythology in it speaks of Gods coming down from the sky thousands of years ago (appx 5000), and this parallels with other events around the world happening in Greece, Egypt, South America, Australia...something happened at that time.
no one has ever said that Nibiru would come here in 2012. That is just taking 2 + 2 = shit. Im not saying it doesnt exist but it certainly was not in the mayan prophecy
The prove is going to be a big planet at 2012... if not, we will know that wasn't a true theory because he really believe it will happen. We are suppose to see it with our own eyes... well... let just wait 3 more years
These so called 'open minded people' who decide that others are wrong because they don't accept Sitchins 'truth' make me laugh, Sitchins ideas are no more real 'proof' than Peter Pan in that they cannot be investigated to reveal any 100% proof. It is a matter of trust to believe in Sitchin, not a matter of truth. Sitchin himself will tell you they are THEORIES, not facts.
Not accepting his ideas isn't closed minded, unquestioningly accepting his ideas while ignoring contradictions is.
of course its no harder to translate then egyptian hirogylphics, thats not the point sumarian is a dead language and only about 200 people in the world can translate and understand it, Zecharia Stichen happens to be one of those people.
It's not true that only 200 people can translate or understand it. Do you really think no-one can read a language that is easily translatable through books that can be bought in any good bookshop?
With less than an hours effort I was able to translate my families names, and that of my cat. I guess that must make it 201 people who can read it then, gosh I'm in a select band of few.
Sad truth is that most people don't stand by new ideas especially those that go against their very mindset and way of thinking. It is always easier to just "go with the flow". I think someone that spends 30+ years of their lfe researching a topic should have a good idea of what he is talking about. Besides the Sumerians weren't the only people with idea's about Nibiru and the creation of mankind.
I have looked into Sitchens work, he is a modern Walt Disney. Sitchins work ignores many of the iconography of the Sumerians just to make bits fit and he ignores bit that don't. That he charges money and issues 'diplomas' to teach his work should set enough bells ringing for a start.
When researching did you only look for people against his concepts, or people that tried to prove him wrong, or were you neutrual in your search for truth? Just out of curiosity.
When I first came across Sitchin I was interested and impartial, it was finding out about the Sumerian version of their mythology and astrology which differed from Sitchin that I began to doubt his ideas. Ironically it was Sitchins work that made me want to find out more about Sumerian religion and mythology.
Read as fiction I think his books are a good, interesting read. I will still read his books as fiction, they are well written in that sense.
I'd like to learn more. What are some of your resources outside of Sitchin? It will be interesting to see where you get your point of view from. Thanks in advance.
I just went to different research on Sumerian mythology and symbolism, the net has a lot of e-books and published papers from universities and archaeologists involved.
So Sitchin knows more about Sumerian mythology, religion and symbolism than the Sumerians did? So he is right when he contradicts the Sumerians I suppose.
What is hard is being open minded enough to accept that a held belief could be wrong and are able to alter those beliefs as more information emerges, not just dismissing things that do not fit those beliefs or theories, that is open minded.
I am open minded and that is how I came to accept SOME of the things that he says. In fact, we all have to be open minded in some what if we are willing to accept anyone's interpretations of ancient history. How can we say anything is a contradiction when there are no Sumerians today that can tell us different. All scientist make their own interpretations of what they research. End the end...to each his/her own. Believe what you want to believe.
We have much info that survives, their belief that there is only five planets in our solar system for instance, their strict disilpines dictating how solar bodies should be visually represented -the sun was never just shown as just a plain disc as in Sitchins so-called 'star map', but with pointed 'arms' (usually 4) and sets of wavy lines between emanating outward. There aren't names for the other 7 'planets' of Sichins claim, yet the Sumerians always named the known planets after their Gods.
We can say that there are contradictions because the Sumerians wrote a lot and kept those writings on 1000's of clay tablets, they went into detail about astronomy, astrology, religion and legal codes. As for him being one of the only people who can read their writing, there are translation books in libraries (probably also English/Cuneiform dictionaries on the net as well). There are many books on the subject, a really interesting topic.
You can go to any decent bookshop or library and get a dictionary and book to translate Cuniaform into English, these texts can be decifered by anyone.
The book 'Reading the past' is a good introduction to that language, it explains the languages basic principles and rules as well as a basic alphabet so the reader can begin to understand and translate texts, it's only a beginners book so it doesn't have the rarer words and meanings but it's no harder that anyother language to translate.
Why do so many people believe Sitchin? his interpretation of Sumerian history/mythology is really wrong, the Sumerians only knew of five planets apart from ours and they never spoke of 12 planets in our solar system yet people ignore the Sumerian view of their own beliefs and listen to someone who has rewritten it.
Sitchin relies on no one actually reading into what the Sumerians actually wrote.
Not saying that he is 100% on point, but the only thing I can say is did everyone stand by Einstein when he was trying to find different answers to solutions that scientists thought they had already figured....
This is partly true; Einstein WAS disputed by his peers (not all but a large sum of them, same as Sitchin). It was only after realizing that he was right that they stopped.Don't get me wrong, there are aspects to his interpretations that seem a bit off or hard to follow but there are other aspects that are similar to religous texts from around the world & from many time periods. So I think there is some validity to his interpretations. I guess time will tell, just like everything else! Peach :)
i watched a film that debunked many of these nibiru stories. if this planet was coming we would of have seen it coming. you cant censor everyone with a telescope. so i just dont think its coming. there is no science behind it. none.
I BELEIVE STICHIN IS RIGHT! Evolution is a fact but only to a point and then we were helped along by these ET's The bible is correct also but wrongfully translated most of the time. There is questions not answered and truths that are misguided but the over all truth lies hidden in interpretation.
I am more and more starting to believe what Stitchin and others say about ancient Sumer, Babylonion, Eqypt etc. I have never been a big fan of Christianity and even as a child , questioned the Bible. I read more about the old testement then the new testement. It makes me wonder about the origin of slavery, humans from homo erectus, and the meaning of Giants/GODS. I hope that what the Mayans and Other prophecies state about 12/21/02012 is not true. I want to see my young children grow up.
Okay Mephisto, Im with everything you say until the final sentence where you loose me. How does roman gods being based on babylon's gods in anyway indicate fact? Lets be clear about what a FACT is, all that proves is that stories get passed on and morphed in diff. generations. The truth is pretty much every early society worshiped the sun... its kinda hard to miss.
I agree with smitty, u do have to have an open mind if u really wanna figure this out. Ive been with it for the past 8 years and its like, u gotta take what new info u learn from what ever source, then compare "notes" to info u attained previously. Find what i call the "commonalities" and work from there. But all myth comes from fact, such as roman gods being based on the babylonish astrological sun god worship, or other things they couldnt fathom or understand with their "modern" science.
It is closed minded to "simply pass it it off as fiction", however it is honest and fair to be interested, research the info and then realize it is all stupid. And by the way, most myths are not based on fact. Go look at greek mythology, very little truth there, just awsome stories made by man before the age of science.
It may be fiction, More than likely it is based on fact like most myths. To simply pass it off as fiction is not only closed minded but irresponsible to yourself and the people you care about. The evidence out there warrants deeper investigation whether you believe it or not. As for the date of 12/21/12 there are several astronomical occurrences that will take place and these theoretically are directly tied in to the reappearance of the rogue planet/star.
