  • I use Black Box from Turtle Wax it's only for black cars,it may take a while but it is well worth the time.

  • @MrBkindahouse Turtle Wax?? HAHAHAHA!!!

  • @925jdb I didn't know I made a funny.

  • Try Meguiar's bro, then you will use 3M to polish your bicicle !

  • you did a great job!

  • ? he wasn't going to wash the car when he finished but he planed to use a power washer ?

he should have papered over the windows so he wouldn't waste a lot of time removing the wax

  • will this process shine my headlight?

  • @ThisLaoGuy yes

  • hey got my car resprayed last year and i was getting swirl holograms. i complained he did another coat but as soon as the summer sun went on it they'd be back. how do i get rid of them?

  • ur teaching ppl to sand the wrong way. never use 2 fingers moving front to back. ull get to deeper sand spots.

  • how to polish a rusted car....and make it new. use meguiars or 3M?

  • @MrBuzzialdrin more like a sand blaster and repaint it. rust wont buff out

  • Why do you tape off the headlights? they love getting polished. :)

  • @LifeIsJustARide85

    That's a good point.

  • hey mate, will this be the same with acrylic paint(black gloss) and clear too?

    i imagine your polishing 2pac.

    any tips will be awesome

  • @911wikileaks Hi, maybe i can answer that question. All cars are now painted with acrylic waterthinned paints. So the answer to your question is Yes.

I am an educated auto-painter from Denmark.

  • Great job! Thanks for making an informative video.

  • 3 hours for second step is to much. I prefer Waxoyl two step polishing, without holograms!

  • anyone else see the guy from wizard of oz finger at 1:50

  • is acetone the same thing as paint thinner? and would it damage the clear coat or paint on a black 2000 mustang?

  • @countryboyG

Acetone should not affect a cured paint job. I like using iso-propyl alcohol to wipe down things too.

  • Hello everybody than don't like this video. If u no like or no work like, no need to talk bad about the guy. Fuck you everybody.

  • How long did this job end up taking? What does it cost to have this done?

  • Excellent video

  • What type of buffer do you prefer? and what type of pads did you use?

  • now straighten that front plate! lol awesome work tho. question, how about cleaning micro fiber cloths and pads?

  • Thanks a lot for the video!!! I have a question: I actually did this on my car. It worked great, but after a few months, the car was like flat black. It looked like before I polished with the rubbing compound but after wet sanded, if you know what I mean. So it worked, but it did not last. What am I doing wrong?

  • @17kingafrica

What did you do after the polish process? Did you apply sealer and/or a wax top coat? If not, there may not be protection over the newly polished surface.

  • Good job, mirror finish. I'm going to polish up the car this weekend. Really keen to try the 1500 grit on the fine scratches.

  • the car already looks shiny you dickhead

  • @nerdflanders8710 you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. when you clearcoat a car it has an orange peel effect. this guy is sanding the clearcoat perfectly flat and polishing it with a compound wax to give it a flat mirrored surface. this isn't a jackass in his drive way with a shammy and caranuba wax.

  • @denimdan908 the car looks shiny u stupid fucking dick head

  • @nerdflanders8710 oh my god you really are that retarded. he's not trying to make the car shiny, he's sanding the clear coat completely flat. if you know what the fuck you are talking about then you would know that when a car is freshly painted it has the effect of a funhouse mirror. sanding the clear coat and polishing it gives you a perfectly flat and even surface, immaculate reflection. but i wouldn't expect a troll like you to understand that. peace.

  • @denimdan908 he left out a step in this video, probly coz Youtube wouldn't let him.

The final step is to use your own semen, either pre made and bottled or straight from the source will do, spread it out and buff it off.

Leaves a nice glow and it will be our little secret.

  • My Friend..!

I am happy I found Your Channel...

I am a Car Detailer, and I want to learn the correct way to Buff, Polish and Wet Sand a car...

I would appreciate if I could communicate with You to get some advice..?

    Thanks..!

  • @alonzorseymour3 sand until the clearcoat is uniformally dull and flat and for fuck's sake stay away from the edges

  • Great Video!

My Black Car needs that bad!

Thanks for showing how its done the right way.

Any recommendations for where to buy the polish, Buffing pads, and Buffing Wheel?

What can be done about door dings?

  • @whitesites if you have the proper palm sander already i advise you to order a "hook it 2" pad set up from o'reillys. use 1500 grit to sand down flat, 2500 to remove those pig tails.

  • wow mate what a shine. ive got a black car and use maguires on it and think it has a great finish but this video blew me away. great job!!!

  • @jasuem

Nothing wrong with using Meguiar's products, just keep in mind that they make many different types of lines you can use. They make multi-stage products that you can use to get the same results as these 3M products. I use some Meg products along with some Zaino products, and occasionally 3M for heavy compound work.

  • `Ok this maybe been using this machine for like a week. i have same machine took that handle off first thing and no real technique as well and no mention of Claybar. YOU CAN NOT DO ANYTHING TILL YOU CLAYBAR THE CAR..................PERIOD.

  • how long does it last and how much do you charge?

  • Try hanging the buffer cable over your shoulder so it dosn't hit the body paint

  • what gets the waves out when you buff it like if the sun hits it youll see a suttle wave?

  • Noob question how would I know what foam pads are for what compound/polish er wtv you call it. I have a polish machine I just need a good place where I can buy these foams for each stage. Sorry for the noob question and thank you. Liked!

ps go ahead and send a message if you want.

  • you sir, are Canadian..

  • can this be done on a 1998 mercedes 320? i have swirl marks micro scratches everywhere its killing me. I heard Mercedes uses some sort of special clearcoat?

  • Jimmo4life - What is the total amount of hours from washing, Claying and polishing the car did take?

  • @sawulook Took me about 3 hours to do my wagon. Including waxing.

  • Does this technique work for removing orange peel or do you need to wet sand the car to remove it?

  • my makita is not that loud

  • How the fuck do I no

  • How often should i polish my car?

  • you have the most uneven technique ever.

  • E A R and E Y E P R O T E C T I O N ? ? ?

  • wad the fuck is that spinning thingy? where can i get those machine? how much does they cost

  • Great finish. well done on a good job and a good video..

  • You should upload a video on how to polish a white car, and a Mexican car as well

  • @noearaujo

    lol, noted

  • @jimmo4life maybe they don't realize black is the easy'st color to spot mistakes.

Hi, im a Danish auto-painter and i like your vids. I currently can't get work in my field, so i watch videos on youtube instead. Kinda sad really.

    Anyway great vids.

  • @noearaujo what about yellow cars?

  • @noearaujo What's a "mexican" car? a brown one? a hard worker one? a car that tastes yumi?

  • @Dragnet000 fuck you, your mother and her lesbian lover as well

  • When you transitioned to the swirl mark remover did you increase the RPM of the polisher? Or any other time?

  • Great video and nice technique, this is exactly how i like to do cars.

  • i know many use a rotary but can i get near results with my da polisher as to me its safer and what i have been trained in using?

  • What kind of gloves did you use? I've been looking for them but I don't find them in the paint stores.

  • @aguascalientesmexico any nitrile gloves work. u can find them in any store. wal-mart might be the easiest place to get them. i steal mine from medical places because the economy is so tough right now

  • Great job... when on the final product - ultra fina, why do you mist the paint with water? besides it being a possible lubricant and keeping the product wet, how else does the water assist?

  • @eyewarnedyou Sure do, paint thinners acts as a solvents which is why he used it to wipe down the residue from the clear coat, a reducer thins the paint which is essentially what the water does in waterbased paint, why do you ask? trying to make a point beeotch?

  • @eyewarnedyou Read the description Beeotch

  • Number one, use a sanding block, number two, cord should be over your shoulder (not rubbing the paint) otherwise awesome results well done

  • WET SANDING WITHOUT A RUBBER BACKING PAD? YOU Your very lucky you dint leave all kinds of finger streaks in the paint!

  • Nice Video series bro. Do you own your own business?

  • no matter what i use, i always get the same results, holograms or swirls or both...and i use the correct technique. what im doing wrong? ;l

  • @Imsodamnpro are you keeping your pads clean? Do you ever let the face of the pad get contaminated with debris? Shit like dirt and sand can get on your pad by touching the ground, which would produce swirls no matter what.

  • @WillyPhister i do keep my pads clean, but i think its because i use a rotary buffer an im fairly new to detailing with a machine...im still unsure of the proper technique.

  • @Imsodamnpro when you get done cutting are you polishing with a foam finishing pad and machine polish? if for some reason you're trying to polish with a cutting pad or rubbing compound you'll continue to get swirls.

  • @WillyPhister i use a white cutting pad first with meguiars 105 or ultimate compound, then a black finishing pad with meguiars swirl remover 2.0 #9...all with rotary buffer.

  • cool video, would have been better if it was a sun beat, scratched, swirled, true daily driven vehicle. that car looks to be in good shape for a daily driven...

  • You have done a very good job on that car, the finish is fantastic.

    Wish you could do mine.

But i have learnt a lot from watching your video.

    Well done.

    Thanks.

  • how often do you need to polish a car? i have a 91 Red Toyota MR2 and the gloss is a bit hazy, i tried rubbing compound and it made it a bit shinier but still not that great, could you also explain the order you should do them? like wash, polish, swirl remover, wax?

  • what is rubber compound? is it the polish u meant?

  • @shahas1 Medium-cutting rubbing compound removes color sanding scratches and leaves minimal swirl marks.

  • Can you tell me what kind of polishes you are using and where you can purchase them?

  • The finished results would hv looked significantly BETTER if you had used woolpad +compound on the entire car, and then followed by foampad+compound, and other finer steps.

Wool pad+compound is not only for removing serious swirls and sanding marks. It is CRITICAL in maximising the brightness of the reflections, which leads to the impression of a better gloss.

  • First of all I must say...that was a damn fine job!! well done and well presented,,,and I thank you for uploading this!! I would really appreciate it if could list the types(not the Brands) of products you used for the car in your steps... simply because I don't want to get it wrong and I want my car to be done like yours... cheers mate!!

  • If i don't have a buffer, i know its more work, but can i just use a microfiber towel and my hand?

  • @SkateSolutions everything in detaliing by hand has an end result of looking better than that done with a buffer like this guy is using. waxing by hand is the best also, and yes, it does take more time and work, and experience. go in as small a circle as you can, this buffer has a large disc swirling in large circles, if you make your circles smaller the effect will be unmatched.

  • @modtwenty Oow, sounds good to me. Although I don't have all these fancy tools, I do have lots of time on my hands these days :P I guess i'll make my black paint look like this sometime soon!! :D

  • You did an excellent job buddy !

I wish u could do mine as well ! Damn black paints ! :/

  • good job bro

  • whew, well done!!! how long to finish one car?

  • the cord....isnt scratching the car

  • Outstanding work! I wish you were located in California, I would have some work for you!

  • At about 15:00 on the blue buffer pad part of the detail what is the solution in the orangle bottle?

  • best damn detailing vid on you tube. I am a motor cycle detailer for a harley dealer and always looking for different techniques on how to get the paint to really shine. i have a detailing competition coming up and going to try this exact process my bike first. i feel totally confident in your process. thank you for posting.

  • Ja uunissahan se tietysti kannattaakin kiillotella...

  • Thanks. Interesting. And a ref to the materials as well. That takes a lot of patience.

Paint ended up looking shinier than the glass :D

  • how much do u charge for a job like this

  • How much would you charge to do this for a customer?

  • @nitrox28 - i would charge anywhere from $200-400 doing it personally, really time consuming to do it. we don't do this kind of work threw the shop for the most part tho.

  • Awesome video... Man thats the cleanest black car i've ever seen!!!

  • so how long does it take to polish a car ?

  • @Guitarnoob99

to do this I think it was over 4 hrs if i recall.

  • wish i could get my car that shiny :) That looks brand new again

  • this its the first time i see how a guy polishing a car inside of an spraybooth do you realy know what you do

  • @mrdetail10

lol..no, not a clue! i just show up for my paycheque on friday.., I used the booth because it had ideal lighting for filming this.

  • from ontario eh?... where abouts...??

  • @draward

    ajax

  • Hi, just to know. When i'm using compounding (6085), machine polishing (6064), i spray some water on the paint and buffer pad (i feel more easy to buff in this way), will this affect the polishing result?

  • That's great....but do that too many times...and no paint left!

  • can i know what are the speed u using when compounding and polishing?

  • Gould be a GXP. I'm too lazy to double check but it's worth it on any car. My friend told me to polish the hood on his accord. I told him no, it will look bad, but he wanted it done anyway. So I did and it had great results. But my friend saw that it did indeed look bad because he couldn't pay me to do the rest of the car so it looked like he had a new hood on his old car all year :)

  • auto świeci się jak psu jajka i po co to polerować ;D

  • beast

  • What if I want to Swedish a black car...LOL!

  • Can this be done on any sort of car? Because i don't want to mess up my paint, i have gotten a car for my 18th birthday but it has a lot of scratches and i want to get rid of them

  • @ownageofrs2

any car pretty well 80"s and newer is base/clear, if you fall in that range then yes you can. biggest risk is burning an edge with the polisher and sanding to much with the paper.

  • lotta work for a shitty little pontiac

  • @s37d true enough..lol

  • Hey Jim,

Great video of yours I just discovered. I got some questions if u dont mind answering.

Maybe u can email them to me, but I will ask them here if u dont mind.

1.What were the pad #s for the 3M pads u were using.

    2. What were the #s for the 3M compounds u were using.

    3. How much does one charge or cost to do this job like this in your video

    4. Do u use the same steps on a single stage paint.

Great video. Im a new fan and subscriber.

    camaro2778@aol.com

    Thank you!

  • What buffer pads did you use?

  • @MacTricksPro

    3m double sided waffle pads

  • to me it looks like your burnishing in the wax and burning it and buffing it off at the same time doesnt look right to me i do alot of gelcoat stuff and this dont look right .

  • Hi, great video. I searched your web site for information on products used, no luck. What kind of polish and pad do you use on your machine ?

  • When driving I notice swirls on Dark colored car quite a bit. I think to myself whoever buffed that car didn't completely finish their buffing stages. So when I heard you say that about 90% of dealership and carwash detailers usually stop at that point of buffing. I couldn't agree with you more, that is so true. And the funny thing about it is your in British Columbia and I'm in Southern Calif. So I guess it's a practiced thing with Detailers & Dealerships, although not by our standards.

  • you forgot to mask the front windshield... usally 3 paper floor mats do it

  • Looks great man. What rotary are you using? I need one for when I do body work, my Porter Cable 7424 doesn't cut through sanding marks like a rotary and a wool pad does!

  • Where you buffing that in the booth?

  • @bigred21185

Ya, better lighting for recording...usually dont do it there

  • Did you say "ultra fine"? It sounded like "ultra feena".

  • @tk0145

    3M Ultrafina

  • Did you polish the bumpers and other small areas? It would be nice to see how you did that.

  • @tk0145

To some degree, wherever the buffer could get into really.

  • nice job!

  • Ahh you must make the tape factories happy ha ha. Nice video.

  • Best video out there on how to buff a black car, excellent vid and full of super tips.

  • what camera do you use jimmo?

  • @svt20009

    JVC Everio

  • what camera r you using? quality is awesum n you did an awesum job

  • awesome camera, camera work, instruction, and video.

  • Great Video!

  • LOL I hate all those videos where you see a brand new shiny car being cleaned, I want to see a really shitty car getting polished&foam washed&waxed !!!

  • @shlomiya check mine i did that just takes time

  • @shlomiya /watch?v=ILylqjnQ284

  • @shlomiya watch?v=d6hx_2Bt3fs
