Consider you walk into a store. Do you complain that you have to pay for the goods that you pick up off the shelves? Of course not because it makes sense that you have to pay for them. People worked to produce it, ship it and sell it to you. Why is it that when you're asked to pay for roads, police, schools and all of the wonderful things that government programs bring you, you lose your shit and think that people are stealing from you?

The money supply has a huge impact on inflation, and the fed has 3 very good tools to combat inflation and deflation, just because you have a bad fed Chairman from time to time it's no reason to abolish the Fed.
There are external factors that cause inflation and without the fed we would be subjected to wild swings in inflation/deflation

Managing the fed funds rate is only 1 too the fed had to manage the money supply. Open Market Operations is it's most effective tool. Which is not being used much right now.
Even if Bernanke turns out to the be worst fed chairman of all time doesn't necessitate the removal of the fed as an institution.
