wow ive always heard of this band but ive never heard their music... this is the first song ive heard from them and its actually really great music. very good music to drive to
@val91201 Trovo pietoso e ridicolo che nel 2011 esistano ancora persone vergognosamente ingnoranti come te, che ancora non sanno scrivere..nemmeno: " Tua madre e ridicola"! Lo hai scritto senza accento. " Tua madre E' ridicola" casomai, volendo scrivere in italiano. CAPRA!
This is NOT the real Jethro Tull. That incredible, magnificent band ended after STORMWATCH. What you see now is side men. Anderson and Barre is all that remain of this once majestic band. The band that gave us Benefit, Aqualung, Thick As A Brick, APP, War Child, MITG, SFTW, Heavy Horses and Stormwatch. Anderson should be ashamed of himself.
He's always had sort of a cult following on the edge of the mainstream, not quite a household name, but I've always felt that he connects past & present in a way that resonates with deep racial memories. It's kind of like the reaction we get from Middle Earth; the sound evokes a semi-mythical past that has a haunting familiarity. He takes us back to traveling minstrels visiting an ancient ancestral village, while we keep one foot in the modernity of rock music. Amazing stuff.
6 ppl don't understand music... plain n' simple...; OH, how I wish I'd have seen him w/ the orig. Jethro Tull back in the 70's... ahhhh, thnx f/ youtube vids...!
Damn, somewhere in heaven Bach´s smiling and raping the replay button on this song. One thing is true, no one will ever play the flute like Ian Anderson, we have to thank god for giving us Jethro Tull
"Back in the day", I thought this was a Jethro Tull "original"--only later did I realize it was taken from Bach. Then again, I wasn't much into the "Classics" as a teenager.
Love this song, Love Ian! Thank you for putting this up... When I was 2 I heard Tull for the first time, and I still remember asking my folks what that sound was, they said the flute.... 3 years later after countless nagging I got my first flute.... 1975, and after practicing my scales and simple songs I would run around trying to be Ian!..... I still jam every time I hear Tull or if there is an open mic night (with any band who can try to keep up) 2 flutes, a recorder, and tin whistle later~ :)
que genialidad de convertir una obra maestra de la compleja musica clasica de Bach en la ya merecida y reconocida version rock-progresivo. Que manera de adueñarse, de adaptar una canción y literalmente hacerla tuya jajaja
Okay so I'm a flute player myself, and hearing this, OH MY GOSH I AM GEEKING OUT!!!!!! That is like beyond incredible. This guy is like my new hero!!!
what? of course musicians improve skills with time but how can one be so blasphemic as to implement the one-legged flutist has ever been kind of like bad or something?

hangszerén át érzéki költemény
érveréseit tapintja ujja,
könnyed, szertelen trillák dús, tömény
ritmusát csövön dünnyögve fújja.
Füstködön áttűz a skótkockás ing,
szőrén lovagolja a rock szilaj,
betörhetetlen mámorát, s megint
örömzenét dübörög a talaj!

Együtt vágtatunk a végtelenbe,
hajszolva egymást űző futamok
vad lovasát, szédülve, kerengve
szívjuk a szúrós verejték szagot!
Majd higgadva térdelünk a dallam
szőttesén, ujjbegyében ránduló
idegszállal kelta, skót, ír, vallon
motívumot hímez, vagy halkuló
kerecseny1 2 years ago
Fél lábon ritmust ringató gólya,
szíjas combokkal pózolva: Ian,
a talentum felfűtött kohója
perzsel, eléget! Fején rőt selyem-
kendővel fedett, ritkuló sörény,
vén lókötő, képen legyint pimasz
mókája, szemében bohókás fény
kacsint, penge száján kölyökgrimasz.
