  • Just... Oh, lordy lord...

  • qué buen blues del maestro Clapton y el vocerrón de Cocker...

  • I'll have to remember Erics spot for his cigarette (1:56) for next time a friend asks me to play while I'm smoking.

  • @Pr3lude9 The Fender EC Signature Strat use to have a hole drilled in that space to hold a cigarette. Around 1990 I think as I had a 7UP '87 Green one and it did not have the hole, but I know it came out a couple years later.

  • SO AMAZING!!!!!

  • I think he would fit perfectly in a zombie movie :-)

    maybe a musical?

  • Blackie sounds freakin' awesome.

  • Superb!

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW COCKER!!!!!!

  • 2:12 clapton takes the cigarette back out of his strings haha

  • Does Eric break a string on 2:07? Is that Ian Steward on piano (yes it is!), Bill Wyman on bass? Nice little band they have goin' there, lol

  • @luit13 keyboards are Chris Stainton and , I think, Chuck Levell

  • @Bluesquest that's Ian Stewart....the 5th rolling stone

  • @juancehh

    So you haven't seen Clapton.

  • @juancehh

It must be your first time, you see Eric.

    He always feels music.

  • @juancehh

It must be your first time when you see Eric.

    He always feels music.

  • @adzinek1993

it's not my first time. But what I say , what I think is, that he doesn't express to his body what he's playing, as SRV or Hendrix does, for example. it's just my opinion and sorry for my english

  • @juancehh There is a difference between your opinion and fact.

  • Sang with some serious BLUES!!!

  • incredible

  • what an incredible combination of cocker and clapton!!

  • Joe Cocker was just awesome here!! =) Powerful voice!! Reaches you from within..

  • Clapton's solo should put any doubts about why he is where he is to rest.

  • Gorgeous....

  • He has Polio.....

  • whats that?

  • @MacLen06 it is called idiosyncrasy or sth like that .(wikipedia)

  • @MacLen06 what a dumb comment

  • Joe Cocker is one of the BEST Blues Rock voices ever..not known as a blues singer..but wow what a sound..teamed up with ERIC CLAPTON who could do any better

  • @bluez1981 Yes, you´re right - for me Cocker already from the start turned into a male exemple of Janis Joplin.

Voice, expression, their speciell kind for to get into the blues.

  • it would be much more beter if you fill ur mouth with a fat cock steira21! : ) enjoy suckin'.

  • beautiful, what a team!

  • it would be much more better if you shut up sterai21!!

  • steira21, you're just pure shit!! An insect.. Worthless!

  • Boy, what a feeling from this song. If U like the blues, it dosen't get any better than these two together. WOW, WOW, WOW for them. Love this music & Eric & Bob. A classic sound.

  • As you say; that's about it. Blues in capitals...

  • yeah, it's a true blues!! Pig God!!

  • Ahhh the memories... I was there!! Thanks for posting :-)

  • ...it's a cigarette that doubles as a capo

  • @YouEtre Yeah, in those days he was doin 3 packs a day..... According to the autobiography

  • This is real music !

  • THAT'S BLUES !!!

  • sung with some SERIOUS soul

  • Now thats some blues sung with soul

  • eric "live on stage" and joe - heart what want you more

  • its always interesting to watch Clapton play back in his druggy days. You can tell he's away. But he still plays as a God

  • Great, any more of this concert. Nice to see them enjoy it as much. Well done for upload.

  • The righteous don't need to inherit the Earth.

They just need to rock it while they're here.

  • Byll Wyman bass

    Charlie Watts drums

    Kenney Jones drums

    Ian "Stu" Stewart piano

  • whats wrong with Joe Cocker? Im not making fun at all I was just wondering

  • There's nothing wrong with him. It's just his way to move when singing. I also move strangely (and a lot like Joe) whenever I sing. It's the musical flow taking control of one's muscles. :-)

  • Oh I know people move when they sing I just didn't know if he had a disabiltiy or something I love his voice!!!!

  • That's hilarious!! Don't blame you for askin! man, that dude got soul...

  • No you meant, COCKER/Clapton

  • jesus when i saw clapton cocker on the vid i was like ahh!!!! awesome!!!

  • ian stewart on piano and bill wyman on bass?

clapton kickin it on guitar, and cocker singing? shit... dats pretty cool

  • what a feeling

clapton ft cocker, you dont see things like that everyday.

  • bill wyman bass??

  • Comment removed

  • YEah!

  • by "These Two Greats" I should clarify I meant Clapton/Cocker

  • I like these two greats together!! BTW in a book about his life it said Mr. Cocker was diagnosed with Tourettes in the 80's that it was this causing his "antics" on stage

  • restless hands?

  • I saw Cocker in Chicago in '72. We bought seats that were released just before showtime, 2nd row severe left. This enabled us to see Joe going being the stacks of amps and puking.

    KIngsuji

  • LET THE MAN SING !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LET THE MAN SING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Cocker and Clapton, and what a backup list of greats! WOW!

  • Does anyone know who the sidemen are in this cut?? It looks like it might be Chris Stainton on the organ, but they never show his face; also, any idea who the drummers are??

  • why does he look like hes trying to swim while hes singing

  • that's what joe cocker does. he gets fresh.

  • He has admited that "something takes control of him while on stage" :) That something COULD be LSD but then again, what do I know :)

  • It simply means that he's got the music in him.

  • :-)))

  • Actually believe it or not, it's not the drugs! I'm sure he was on something then but I saw him on Conan within the past year or so and he's an old guy who still "gets fresh" when he sings! Great stuff

  • clapton is god

  • if Eric Clapton and some"Mayer "keep it blues so what the h#"3ll does Great blues men like Hubert Sumlin,Howlin Wolf,Muddy Waters etc?Eric, mayer plays pop songs adapted from Blues.

  • super!

  • gli inglesi che insegnano agli americani a fare a blues...XD

  • BLACKIE!

  • What a muppet show!!!

  • Good old Stew (Ian Stewart)on piano..,man: he could play them keys like Bobby did on saxophone

  • blues heros~!!!

  • clapton is good, its just people like john mayer that suck when they try to do the blues. clapton actually keeps it blues. mayer changes it.

  • i don't know if mayer changes it. his music is definitely pop that is blues influenced. doesn't mean he's trying to rewrite how blues should sound. i don't like his music, but if you listen to John Mayer Trio or whatever it is, his live band, he does play a lot more blues.

  • yeah the john mayer trio stuff is very bluesy while his solo stuff is more on the pop side... if you haven't heard the john mayer trio you should check them out, you'll prolly be as shocked as i was...

  • hey Kirkyraucous, I tried to look for the john mayer trio but couldn't find here. do you have one vid you can recommend?

    thanks

  • joe always sings like this he is there ...and he is great one of the best singers on my concept

  • wow Eric looks so young here, he looks more like he did in the cream days or even the yardbirds. Just goes to show what a shave can do!

  • damn, Clapton has style in this vid.

  • no offense to Joe or anything, he's great!

but is Joe Cocker not all there mentally?

  • hey man, no disrespect! cool it, i just asked a question

  • I'll answer your question but I only have a guess. I would say he is all there, but maybe all strung out on some kind of drugs. Clapton was drunk as sin too haha.

  • haha yeah

see, this is the kind of reply i like

  • I believe he has always suffered from an underlying neurological/neuromuscular disorder of sorts. He's always displayed that posture and gesticulation. Most likely drugs and grape juice, or alike, added to the manifestation. Check out his videos over the years, and now it seems less pronounced than before, as I believe he is dry or nearly so. Perhaps a well worded search will reveal some FACTS, vs. our speculating here. BTW Blue Medley off MAD DOGS & ENGLISHMAN has to be his very best..PERIOD.

  • Well, I wouldn't necessarily consider some sort of bodily disorder, since his gestures and movements off the stage have always been quite normal. He does it only when singing. Whenever I sing I, too, make strange movements, not much unlike those of Joe. Although it definitely looks weird when you're not used to it, it's just music "flowing" through the body. In my view it's just a trait of his, not some crazy side effect of all the drugs and booze he used to consume.

  • joe always said music always made him do those things. after cmusic stopped he was normal. as to why they werent so pronounced as he got older,he was fading away in the music world, the producers told him it was because people were turning off of his movements, cool in 60s but got old. so he slowed it down.

  • Do not you see!?!?! He just has a microphone stand up his ass...

  • I was there...man what great memories...Thanks for posting?

Doyou have other videos from this show?

  • That was a great video. Eric Clapton is an incredible talent on the guitar. Joe Cocker is 'pure performer' - passion that grabs you time after time. Joe Cocker = the "BLUES".

  • Must have been quite a show for Ronny Lane. Have a look at the lineup....Eric Clapton (Guitar)/ Jeff Beck (Guitar)/ Jimmy Page (Guitar)/ Joe Cocker (Vocals)/ Paul Rodgers (Vocals)/ Jan Hammer (Keyboards)/ Bill Wyman (Bass)/ Charlie Watts (Drums)/ Kenny Jones (Drums)/ Ray Cooper (Percussion)/ Chris Stainton (Keyboards)/ James Hooker (Keyboards)/ Simon Phillips (Drums)/ Andy Fairweather-Low (Guitar)/ Ronnie Lane (Guitar)

  • y does he look like a damn crack head fening

  • By the way, he doesn't look like he's fiending...he looks like he's doing "The Crack Dance".

Joe Cocker is a true blues man, as is Clapton. A lot of blues men express their blues notes with body movements just as Cocker does.

  • cooker doesn't spell well

  • well shaved here, that's rare

  • Yeah I know about this mark behind the strings on his Fender's singnature Guitares ... But I'de never seen him smoking before ...

  • you seem surprised, clapton did it all man, way beyond smoking, you have no idea...

  • Of course I've already seen him smoking before playing. But it's the first time I see him smoking and playing in the same time.

  • Lol, Clapton smokes during the song. First time that... He plays so good!
