Awsome video, especially the part with the 3d model of the room ontop of the real thing. I've been playing with ARToolkit too. Do you think it'd work well to use something like a wiimote accelerometer/vr headset motion tracker to keep track of the camera within the scene? I'm just trying to think of some way to keep track of the camera better during camera turns, or short periods where markers aren't visible. Game ideas were mentioned at the end, that sounds awsome :)
Cheers muchly for your comment. Ideally, i'd like to take the whole thing away from markers, as they're a bit unreliable at the best of times, but it's going to take a lot of work. The wiimote / accelerometer idea is a good one, maybe to use in combination with some kind of room feature recognition. As for games- I keep thinking how cool it would be to play an augmented reality version of laser tag or something similar! Done well, it would be so immersive.
hah! awsome! i was thinking about an army game that would be played in the forest.(it would put wii exercise to shame) it's easy to imagine what it would be like with some fast wearable computers. do you know how you would go about tracking the features? that sounds tricky.
