I'd imagine he has his reasons, but I don't speak moon language. For me, there is as much purpose as there is for you. What's the reason you produce content on Twitter? Why is a museum more "super logical" than YouTube for showing work? I wasn't just being facetious. Maywa Denki sells silly toys, and exhibits "nonsense machines" in art galleries. I figure this is a nonsense machine, so that's likely at least part of the motivation.

I'm not saying you should like it. I'm not exactly a fan of pomo conceptual art, I think whatever it had to say (if anything) was played out by the end of the 1980s if not by the end of the Dada movement, but I do quite like this piece, it reminds me of something Marcel Duchamp might make.
