  • Lol, wut?

  • @@;;;;

  • a machine with a man made vocal cord and a breath of air cool

  • What the actual fuck

  • what the fuck is that

  • My favorite part is at :15 when he says, "Wha ha goa goa ah. Ninge nayoni. Wa'ohd khee-idis. Hazamee gudamow tedemasto."

  • creepy~ lol.. xD

  • Well, I guess that's it then. One day we shall all be destroyed by screaming Japanese robots.

  • The LOLWUT pear got an upgrade.

  • great. now im gonna have nightmares tonight. O.O

  • Wow. Apparently you can get funding to make ANYTHING in Japan.

Amazingly enough, it's the same guy from the Otamatone promo video.

  • wow amazing

  • That toothy maw is what seals in the creep factor on this device. Some of the expelled air is routed to an assembly that opens and closes the mouth and manipulates the vocal cords, completing the vocalization. You have to see the video to really get the full idea, just know that BEHRINGER won't be held responsible if you have any nightmares after watching.

  • Through completely mechanical means, the device is capable of delivering an unsettlingly humanoid laugh.

Cranking up the flywheel raises the "head" assembly and inflates a bellows. Once fully raised, the weight of the head forces the bellows to slowly close—the expelled air is routed through the artificial vocal cords and mouth.

  • Last week we stretched the definition of "instrument" a bit to get the "Bridge Music" story up. This week we're following suit on loose interpretations of the word "instrument," but trust me: we're knocking it out of the park in the "weird" category.

Looking something like a collaboration between Jonathan Ive and H.R. Geiger, The "WAHAA GO GO" is an interactive sculpture created in Japan around a year ago.

  • It sounds like it's sad. :C

  • @MarioJunkee30112 sounds like a primative (like a primate, not old) hoot or howl, a woop if you may

  • Is that chindogu?

  • wow.. such an INVENTION!!

well CMIIW but why can't they use that expertise to make something more useful??! but whatever.. i dont wanna judge the maker either.. everyone have the right to have some fun.. well its WEIRD dont you think

  • someone got too happy with their erector set

  • lol daniel merriweather watched this also :D <3 i dunno wht this is anyway ..

  • 最後wwwwwww

  • wtf is this?

  • i think it's a laughing-machine, lol

    When can I buy one?

  • ma che cazzo state a dì?

  • LUL WAT

  • I don't think I'll ever sleep again.

    I love it.

  • It looks and sounds very creepy. It's like something out of a kawaii noir nightmare.

  • lol when the scientist turns his head at about 2:34

  • @gamma235 He's not a scientist.

  • Giger? Little Shop of Horrors?

  • kill it with fire!!!

  • LOL WUT?

    srsly what's the point?

  • This thing is vastly creepy and hits the uncanny valley bigtime. I love it. :D

  • Oh, this is just silly. Is it bad that my first thought was "sex toy" when I saw it was Japanese?

  • It's not bad, and I have given you a thumbs up to balance out the negative response you received before. It is only a matter of time my friend before the Japanese create the ultimate sex robot, and when that day comes, our population worries will be over.

  • love it

  • This is both strange and fascinating :D

  • This is fantastic. Amazing!

  • his works are very solid and neat but they are kind of pointless don't u think?

  • The point please? Other than being pointless and scary? Props for building it cause I never could, but still....

  • do you justify everything you do with a point

  • Most of the the things I do are for a reason, so yes they have a point. I just want to know what the point of it is. Will it be used in a museum of engineering? Or what? I don't see many super logical uses for it, seeing as it is slightly spooky (to me, and many other people who have commented). Seems that I'm not the only one who thinks it rather pointless either by some comments on this page I've read. But whatever. I have my opinions, you have yours. That's what makes the world interesting

  • I'd imagine he has his reasons, but I don't speak moon language. For me, there is as much purpose as there is for you. What's the reason you produce content on Twitter? Why is a museum more "super logical" than YouTube for showing work? For the people who don't understand his martian tongue, I'd argue that the point could be many things, from financial to just being for his own amusement (and ours), all of which are fine points, I think, regardless of how illogical you say they are.

  • Thank you for enlightening me to the reasons why he might have built it! I never thought of it being financial or a hobby. That's all I was asking in the original question. I admit that the original sounded rather harsh, but my personality is a little on the harsh side. Proudly working on it though! Thank you again.

  • Everyone's personality is on the harsh side on internet.

  • If it's absurdist postmodern kinetic sculpture (which you'll find that it is if you google Maywa Denki), then maybe being spooky and confusing to people who think everything needs a point is the point.

  • Dang! I'm good now... I get it. Thanks for clarifying even further though. I am gaining knowledge with every reply.

  • I wasn't just being facetious. Maywa Denki sells silly toys, and exhibits "nonsense machines" in art galleries. I figure this is a nonsense machine, so that's likely at least part of the motivation.

I'm not saying you should like it. I'm not exactly a fan of pomo conceptual art, I think whatever it had to say (if anything) was played out by the end of the 1980s if not by the end of the Dada movement, but I do quite like this piece, it reminds me of something Marcel Duchamp might make.

  • I can see the commercial now:

"See, I wanna find things funny, but with soccer practice, laundry and walking the dog, I'm just too busy to laugh about them.

Well now there's the Whaha Go Go. It does the laughing for you. You'll never have to laugh at anything.... EVER AGAINNN! With the Whaha Go Go, you just set it...

    ...AND FORGET IT!!!"

  • thats not laughing....

  • nope laughing sounds different

if you laugh like that you should visit a doctor

  • Everyone laughs different dumb ass . I've heard people laugh like that. You should go outside more often and you will find not everyone sounds like you when they laugh

  • Really?

  • Heh you're not banned yet? Bummer.

  • Awesome!

  • naaais))_)))

  • Looks like something out of a Tim Burton film.

  • Well isnt that the most scientifical sex toy you ever seen? LOL!

  • Another video of Japanese people doing EXCEEDINGLY weird shit. Way to go guys.

  • 2:09

    Hear the laugh.

  • translation

Moving the bellows with the rotation of the flywheel energy in the wind "artificial vocal"鳴Rashitsutsu the

"Pitch" "formant" "amount of air flow" to control the machine like a human laugh

  • it belongs in a tool video.

  • 最高です。

  • WTF IS IT?

  • A robot with a a laugh.

  • L-O-fucking-L at the guy at the end. when he takes the thing out and turns to the camera

  • performance art that would freak out those who recreationally user drugs. ingenious.

  • proof that asians could control the world!!!

  • WTF!!!!!!

  • what does it do?? just laugh??

  • so...that's a blowjob machine?

  • I really need one of those

  • Looks like a sex toy.

  • brilliant!

  • it look's like a laughing vagina wahahha

  • Freaaaaaaaaak

  • "WAHHA GO GO"? What the fuck fuck????

  • wtf ?

  • Moving the bellows with the rotation of the flywheel energy in the wind "artificial vocal cords" while sounding the "pitch" "formant" "amount of air flow" to control the machine like a human laugh.......and i just learned hiragana and katakana.....nice :)

  • Here's my more idiomatic translation: Using a bellows powered by a flywheel's rotational energy, air-powered artificial vocal cords control pitch, vocal resonance, and airflow to create a laughing machine.

  • dude, it's all spring, air and gear power, which means that it didn't cost that much.....don't be a dick, the Japanese are far more advanced in technology than we are and contribute to a lot of what we have....plus it's not our country's money, so what do you care?

  • great

  • whats this shit?

  • eww :-:

    so, fucking scary

    D':

    ihate the lauqh!

    T~T

    buh imma favorite

    xD

  • whats the point of this????

  • haha

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • For those people that don't understand this, what these japanese people have done is create a machine that can do these simple tasks and create vocalizations but without electronics. only simple tools.

  • so not robots can speak to us when they are killing us in a even simpler ways

    =D

  • lol, yea, but you would need some guy who probably masturbates too much to start them all up.

  • see my video then the beginning is a little disturbing but the rest is good

  • o.kaaay.....

  • seriously, what IS this???

  • kill it with fire.

  • Yes the Eva Series! Scary eyeless bastards!!

  • LMAO def from eva

  • no, nothing to do with eva series. google it and you'll find out.

  • I don't have to know Japanese to know that this has nothing to do with Evangelion, I'm just saying that it looks, key word, like the Eva Series.

Like, he takes out the rod in a fraction of a second, and then just stares at the camera.

    Priceless.

  • 2:34 the tech guy. Almost as good as "Dramatic Chipmunk"
