  • One Of my favorites.

  • @zephranna01 Yeah I believe he does love this song but sorry to disagree I think Elton's signature song is Your Song, just my opinion.

  • SIR ELTON JOHN IS FANTASTIC !

  • Elton John in Rock in Rio....yeahhhhhhhh!!!!

  • is he gay?

  • @NYhunter4 what ear is his earring on? moron.

  • @NYhunter4 Yeah, so?

  • @NYhunter4 He actually is. This does not affect me though, I still think he's incredible.

  • @NYhunter4 no duh

  • @NYhunter4 yeah, hes gay. which makes him even cooler :D

  • going to see him march 25th! so excited!! :)

  • Elton was fan friggin' tastic in Victoria (Canada) a few nights ago! A lot more sedate than he used be-but a CLASS ACT! Wouldn't have missed it for anything!

  • im gunna fuk EJ so hard in his rump roast

  • ELTON JOHN IS A GENIUS,,,LUV THE MAN AND HIS MUSIC...A GIFT TO ALL ROCK ON

  • great song absolutly fantastic could hear it again and again and again

  • This is what true music sounds like.

  • @writingjerk love elton john's music, but i do recommend you try some other bands too lol there's a whole lot out there

  • So is Elton the one who wrote this song? Because i really like it! Please someone tell me.

  • @DarkShadowMegadeth Nooo, Elton John barely ever writes the lyrics for his music. He usually teams up with someone, and then he writes the piano music to it, and he sings it. However he does it, it works out beautifully everytime :) Someonetimes he writes some songs, and co-writes them a lot.

  • @DarkShadowMegadeth Hello , Actually Bernie Taupin Wrote all the Songs Elton John's Songs, and perhaps still does..Elton talked about that in Lots of his concerts, and on Personal Interviews, you can find on you tube here--someone mentioned he is Bi..But hey, Big Deal..who cares, waste of time profiling people-I Don't care-He is an ICON and Love him!

  • @DarkShadowMegadeth Bernie Taupin actually wrote the lyrics for a girl he met in Southern California while Elton was out there doing one of his early American concerts :)

  • hahha classic

  • This song is great and Elton is a great guy he was great friends with Cynthia Lennon before and after her divorce with John Lennon

  • who cares if that man is bi he can sing like a god

  • @irishtoker7 YEP you got that right~! He's been doing amazing songs, sold out concerts all his Life, and donates $ LOT"S of $ To his Aids Charity, He has been named SIR By the Queen of England..so Respect this guy, or don't watch or listen, that's all..lol Relax and grow up, those of you that say that~! Go Play in Traffic~!! : )

  • @DonaldHope Just found myself agreeing with your points - apart from the silly thing that is the 'Queen of England'. There is no Queen of England; there hasn't been in fact a monarch of just England for hundreds of years - Queen Elizabeth II is Queen of the United Kingdom. The UK comprising of Britain, which in itself is England, Scotland and Wales, and Northern Ireland!!

  • With the only possible exception of The Rolling Stones, Elton John is the most amazing musical performer of all-time. The man has been a musical icon for over 40 years!! NOBODY will ever match that :)

  • thank you elton for inspiring people...

  • Can someone please tell me in what ways sexual preference is linked to musical talent and performance? Its a good thing intolerance doesn't have a bigger hold on this world than it already does, because it would be a shame if people like Elton John weren't able to reach stardom merely because they are gay.

  • so beautiful..........

  • TALENT !!

I have loved Elton ever sence I was a littlle girl. I have never cared about what anyone eles had to say about him. I love you Elton ! OXOX

  • just cause you like elton john dosnt make you gay the ppl calling you gay for listening it are the ones who are gay

  • And on the gay note. Elton is Bi-sexual. Means he does girls also. Just a little bit more support in his favor. :)

  • Im 18. Im straight. And I loved Elton John since I was born (My parents use to play his music all the time.)

  • Elton was the world's most successful star when he came out as bisexual in the mid 70s, and after 7 #1 albums in the US hasn't had another there since. Of course this shows he was widely loved by straight fans but homophobia is still so strong in the 21st century his sexuality is held against him! So many people deterred from his music either from being homophobic or worrying what others might think of them!! His talent has been phenomenal

  • if you have to be gay to like elton john then im gay because you'd have to be an idiot Not to at least acnolage he is a idol to thousands and they cant all be gay for all the homophobes out there.

    GO ELTON JOHN YOU ROCK!!

  • If i told my mates that i liked this song i'd be called queer but fuck it........awesome song

  • @cletusbigtoe Your friends' reaction is the ridiculous reason Elton's greatness isn't more widely acknowledged and why his sales aren't what they could be, though i'm hopeful his great new album The Union will be successful and make liking his music less stigmatised. What a shallow world we live in, the music should be judged on its merits but feeble souls are more bothered about image. Of course there are many millions of straight fans so you can put your friends right on that.

  • @mizofan its a shame you can just look at the pop scene and tell its all about money and looks how do i know this well listen to it crap crap crap and over again crap crap crap how old do i feel now lol!!!!!!

  • So what if he is gay ,he is amazing and i would love to see him in concert so all of you that say he is gay screw off you are just ass holes...

  • @woodro47 so what if he's gay, if he wasn't id still want to touch his bottom :)

  • 1 of maybe 5 songs, that ALWAYS stops me dead in my tracks and makes me wish I had those old ballet shoes at the ready...and a sandbox! LOL!

  • I close my eyes everytime I hear this song, its amazing!

  • new elton is an overweight egomaniacal gasbag.

  • One of the best piano players in England and the United States Great song about Bernie Taupins wife.....Tiny Dancer

  • Jesus Freaks out on the street, handing out tickets of Gold. (Salvation is a free gift to all mankind, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and you too will make Heaven your eternal home).

  • @ilililhy "handing tickets out for God" are the correct lyrics... just to make things straight ;)

  • @TheAdamNN Yes ,Jesus freaks do hand out tickets for God,Why?,because preachers tell you the Good news, that Jesus died on a Cross for your sins and mine,so that we may make Heaven our Eternal Home ,streets of pure GOLD in Heaven.(Salvation is a free Gift from GOD.)all we have to do is accept Jesus into are Heart and ask him to forgive us our sins ,and ask Him to Live in us and though us.

  • jesus christ, the straight male population should be thankful that elton is gay, think how many women would be standing outside his house right now to f*ck

  • Who was the second guitarist in his band at the time rockin' the pedal steel?

  • What's to say , he's absolutely fantastic. Great performer . love his music I will never get tired of listening to it.

  • his voice;'o

  • all dat sperm swallowing has really deepend elton johns voice,,,,, haha i duno y i said dat, i dont dislike him either, bu i tink elton john is a class song writer, wata song.

  • Most voices darken and deepen over the years; and Sir Elton also had vocal cord surgery some time ago. So he can no longer sing with the sweet, soaring lyricism of his youth. But I don't care. Here John still sings this great song quite well in the original key, some 25-plus years after the original recording. That kind of achievement is RARE.

  • Comment removed

  • Seriously...does it get any better? methinks not. xx

  • its actually pretty good for a oldy time song!, sounds espeacially good in the new realease Street-Dance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love how he mentioned almost famous.

  • I never cared for this song until I saw him perform it live in the '90's. Now I love it. If you have a chance to see Elton live, go for it!

  • Well done

  • I'm really surprised when listening to his old records - his voice now and then is very diffirent. But i think it's better now

  • Love his piano music....

  • Utterly genius. Such an amazing song.

  • grandissimo elton, che voce!!!!! sei un mito!!! questa canzomne è uno spettacolo!

  • LOL BONE A GUY YOU FAG

  • @needblackup yeah..... fail troll clearly by your username i know wut u are

  • Hey Elton remember 33 years ago when Marina S sent you a poem called BLUE JEAN BABY HER TITLE ON CB AND SHE HAD THE WORDS DANCING IN THE SAND; THANKS FOR NOT ACKNOWLEDGING HER AND PAYING ZIPP ALL. She was 17 and sent you this poem Quote "My Marina" thanks for stealing her song.

  • @Jointheir777 Learn how to use proper English. Then people might take your accusation seriously.

  • Awsome performance from a great artist. The drummer Nigel olsson is superb.

  • i am in love with Elton John. i just know it.

  • Dude he's still gonna be kickin' out the jamz when he's, like, 80. I personally like the original recording better for this particular song, but either way it's incredible. He's so amazing

  • You'll marry a music man...

  • @pinkpanthersdad

'pinkpanthersdad ....you are very young to be having this type of music, but I thank you for letting me listen to the music that I grew up with!!!! '

    ---------------------

Sorry man,but thats a very stupid thing to say.Music has no age limits. Are you going to say the same thing to somebody about the beatles or led zeppelin?Elton, along with a number of other singers/bands,are for all ages/generations.Music is universal with no age limits.

  • god i love his voice - 1970's and today. it just relaxes you ya know? and gives you a good time(:

  • I almost cry when i hear this song

  • this was the 1st song i herd

  • sorry dezolis - his voice may be more rounded, but it's exactly the same key and pitch.see the version posted by fnordius. his voice (and the rexording equipment!) was so much 'thinner' in 1971

  • Why is his voice so deep now?

  • It's what happens as people age. So, couple the natural effects of aging with decades of singing, and you get pretty dramatic changes in the the voice.

  • He had throat surgery in the early 90s. He has to sing in a lower key now.

  • @koester88 he had throat surgery in the 90s for some reason i cant recall

  • Pathetic, really??? Elton is never pathetic.

  • John Jorgenson switches instruments so easily. He's one of the finest guitar players anywhere. Amazing band.

  • such a bad wig...

  • Thank you guys!!!

  • age has nothing to do with it, elton is the most amazing musician ever, i saw him in concert i was right in front of the piano, it was the most inspirational thing i have eever seen, i even cried. lol. his music is just so different

  • ....you are very young to be having this type of music, but I thank you for letting me listen to the music that I grew up with!!!!

  • Hold me closer tony danza!!!!

  • hahahahaa wow I made a joke out of that a while ago... Thought I was the only one.

  • Anybody know why Elton is never center stage? He is always off to the left or right, never in the center...

  • in the lats 80s he was in the middle but hes always on the left of the stage. thats elton

  • A "must hear" classic! FABULOUS.....

  • Right on. Elton is classic. His legend will live on long after his detractors have crumbled to dust. ELTON!!!

  • Amazing - can this guy sing and play!

  • lets chat

    anyone want to chat UD

  • He's still great, but I miss the way his voice sounded in the 70's and 80's.

  • you're offically a piece of shit :)

  • does EJ have a nickname for his eyebrow?

  • I don't think so..but I like it.

    X3

  • The eyebrow's name is Happy.

  • My Brothers were huge EJ fans during his early-mid 70's heyday..Listening to songs like these brings back childhood memories for me.

  • My absolute favorite song.

  • The coice have never been better!!!!

  • I personally love the old and new elton john. Yes, the throat and vocal cord problems have dramatically changed his voice, but I personally think it's even better. He may not be able to sing falsetto anymore, but his baritone is amazing. I love his new voice so much better, although the old was good too. He just gets better with age!

    You rock Elton!!

And to all the homophobes who say he sucks because he's gay or that you have to be gay if you like him, screw off. I'm straight and LOVE HIM

  • I like both his old stuff and new stuff too, but I personally liked his younger voice.

  • AMEN. Seriously people, it's 2009 (as of this writing). God made gay people as well as straight people and bi people. Deal. And one of God's greatest gifts to us was the incredible musical talent of ELTON.

  • And God doesn't make mistakes, so they are the way they are for a reason.

  • yeah he does, just look at the mullet

  • No, my friend, he gave that to us so we can laugh at it.

  • true true

  • @bohemianspiritmn its 2012 (as of this writing)

  • @1Breadweard - If you're an atheist, substitute "Nature." Whether one believes he came from "God" or "Nature," Elton John is a GIFT.

  • @bohemianspiritmn That's one of the Best ways to Know God, rather sub the name, that i have heard in a long time..I tell my Agnostic friends to watch a Sunset, and think of all the wonderful things that have happened (Like your memories of Glorious times of your life~!Then i tell them they can borrow God anytime~! Some have Risen to that~ : )

  • @bohemianspiritmn who cares its music kid

  • @bulldogsnbostons Elton is who he is. Right on for your post. He's old now, he's seen things out there in the world....I love to listen to his voice. Elton's voice tells a story, a long traveled road--and a well traveled one. Give me a man with the smile lines rather than a Hollywood face any day.

  • @bulldogsnbostons I like Elton but your quote:

"who say he sucks because hes gay" made me laugh

  • @bulldogsnbostons But if he's gay then he must suck, unless he is just a greedy reciever - musically he's great.

  • Lot of fun

  • hold me cloooser tony daaaanza XD

  • He isnt that bad.

  • Woah it is like he hit puberty at age to high! >.>

  • His voice was so much better in his younger years, it's a shame what all that pot and surgery did to his vocal cords...he doesn't have the same touch on the piano he used to have...his chubby fingers just bang on the keys now...sucks to get old i guess

  • i love elton so much i saw him in concert

  • I can't believe that no one has commented on how great John Jorgenson's steel guitar work is on this song.

John was one of the best and most talented member to have played in ANY of Elton's bands.

It was really great to watch John & Davey together on stage, as they always looked like they were having a ball!!

  • hes voice changed noticably...

  • It doesn't get much better than this!! xD

  • He is so good but the backup singers stink and almost ruin the sound !

  • The intensity in this performance is amazing.

His (pitch) range has got worse, but you can't blame him for that. His voice is better for songs like this though, I agree it's much more powerful.

  • when he got older his voice got worse but he still is great i think he was better 9 years ago

  • The Best. I will, one day before I die, play this song on piano. I love Elton John.

  • i wouldnt say his voice got "better" but it's still great in its own way its more POWERFUL than it was when he was younger wich i like. i pissed off that he had duets in this concert i mean jesus one night only 27 greatest hits at the garden we wanna see ONLY him (and his band) come on elton

  • i totally agree about the voice. it'll never be better than the original, but he sounds like he's putting more emotion into the lyrics. eric clapton is much the same way in his concerts nowadays.

unfortunately i haven't watched the rest of the show, is it on youtube?

  • this sounds better than his recording in 1971.

  • He sounds deeper now

    Musical genius!

  • this song was also in "my girl". one of sir elton's best!

  • he hasnt lost anything. hes still the best.

  • i think his voice got better with age.

    i <3 elton!!!!

  • I <3 This Song... xx

  • I think he sounds even better now. We love Elton!

  • he sounded so much better in the 70s

  • maybe, but he still sounds good I think.

  • You'll have a lot of fun at his concerts . The man is amazing !

  • he is just one giant ball of talent.

  • elton is the piano god

  • haha love his suit, and the song's even better. wow. impressive

  • class song elton rocks

  • chills down the spine

  • Nice song

  • Best elton song, hands down

  • Rocket man

  • someone saved my life tonight

  • talk about consistently pleasing his audience, Elton always appears to be loving to perform for his fans. Purely a joy to listen to and watch, year after year after year!
