  • @techmanty No sheet music, I just worked it out

  • Awesome :D Getting one for my bday. Worth the money?

  • @Preconspirator Yeah, think so.

  • Is this keyboard touch sensitive???? (Digital piano)

  • @WhippyCorneto Yes.

  • Comment removed

  • Did you speed up the framerate of the video? It doesn't sound like natural to me.

  • @maarten03 Nope.

  • Can you tell me something ... i know a voices of yamaha stage kexboards ... but this voice still doesent "look like" a yamaha sound .... did you use some kind of digital hamer keyboard software for stage pianos ??? can you tel me which ??? ....

  • @ttorkia No this is just the piano sound of the NP30 recorded straight on to my PC

  • @ttorkia

    This is from the keyboard.

  • I could play that in reverse, with my eyes closed and whilst filming it.

  • This is the best Family Guy Theme piano cover on Youtube ♥

  • Lois: It seems today, That all you see, Is violence in movies, and sex on T.V. Peter: But where are those good old fashion values.... All: On which we used to rely?! Lucky theres a family guy! Lucky theres a man who, positively can do, all the things that make us... Stewie: laugh and cry! All: He's a Fam-ily Guy!
  • HOLY SHIT!!!!! IF ONLY I COULD PLAY LIKE THAT!!!

  • How much does this keyboard cost ?

  • @AshtonCDs 200 pounds

  • @ColinMitchellMusic Thats a heavy keyboard

  • LOL i thought it was the nanny at the begninning!

  • I was just wondering how this piano sounds when through loud speakers playing, alot of pianos have piss poor sound and this ones rather cheap, i want a good piano , any feedback?

  • @KracBlayn it sounds rubbish through it's own speakers, but much better through headphones or an external speaker setup. The NP30 is cheap and cheerful. If you wanna good piano, look elsewhere:-)

  • @ColinMitchellMusic do you need to tune it, cause it looks a bit like a keybaord, and i cant tune anything apart froma voilin and a guitar lol.

  • @XboxLass1234 Nope, it's all tuned up and ready to serve your every need!

  • @XboxLass1234 you have to be the dumbest person in the world. and you definitely not know how to tune violins and guitars.

  • @reynosamanA3 yes i do... who are you to tell me that i ont know how to tune guitars or violins? and i can tune pianos now, calm the fuck down jesus what is your problem, anger problems ?

  • @XboxLass1234 I am the guru of all intellect and your are an inferior human being therefore you are my slave.. Anybody know that digital(electrical) pianos dont need to be tuned. Have you been living in a cave lately?

  • @reynosamanA3 actaully some digital pianos do need to be tuned, how are you a gur when i play the piano and can tune them, that ws my sister talking and shes 8, think its funny to interrogate an 8 year old? hmm your such a bitch now, i can tune piano and so can my sister i dont know what she was on about, and i know many digital pianos that do need tuning, and to be fair im 28 and your about 3? so whose the guru now? and no i live in a villa thanks, like my sister, fucktard.

  • @XboxLass1234 Are you asking if an electric piano needs tuning? if so you shouldn't be playing an instrument.

  • @b9y no you retard... i know a fucking electrical piano needs tuning or not ffs, because i have an electrical piano at home that needs tuning and some electricals do need tunign so i was wondering if it was one of the hybrids. jesus.

  • @XboxLass1234 I see that a lot of people are mixing up electric pianos with digital pianos. Digital pianos don't need tuning, electric pianos do. Electric pianos are pianos with physical hammers striking tines or reeds, like the Fender rhodes mk1 or the wurlitzer 200A. Digital pianos (like this one) use samples (recorded fragments of audio to make their sound, so they don't need tuning at all.

  • @TheMrbrainwash i know, thats what ive been trying to tell this dumbfuck all along.

  • @XboxLass1234 Indeed

  • Hey can someone please tell me the size or the kind of the power and the sustain pedal?

  • @skatingchink2121 , it's only about 15 watts stereo through its own speakers and doens't come with it's own sustain pedal.

  • Does this keyboard support MIDI? So that I could hook it up to a beatmaking program such as fruityloops?

  • Knorzor yeah it has midi in and out sockets so should work fine with software

  • Hello Lois!

  • I also want to know. is having weighted keys really important? Will it affect your performance later on if you're used to using semi or unweighted keys? Which is better, having full weighted keys or having graded touch? Sorry if have too many questions. I am just curious and I want to be sure of what will I use. Thanks again. Anyways, your playing is just beautiful, I wish I could be that good someday. :)

  • Hi TheMbelle .Yes, weighted keys are important when learning to play. I would not recommend this piano as one to learn on. It's good as a portable secondary instryment, but that's all. I have had no problems with the NP30 since I bought it, but I don't really use it all that much. Save up and buy a better model with a good weighted touch would be my best advice to you. Best Wishes -Colin

  • Hi, since it's been a year you've uploaded this vid, did you encounter problems using Yamaha NP30? I've heard there's been problems with its speaker or sound after using it for months. I'm a beginner pianist and I really want a piano which is affordable and worth to buy, and this really suits but still I'm not sure if it performs great as it looks. I'd be so happy if I could buy a great piano because I've been suffering from a cheap keyboard. I will be really glad to know your answer. Thanks. :)

  • Excellent. Truly excellent.

  • Thanks drizzler618 !

  • Jazzy :)

  • avpianocovers agreed but, you get what you pay for!

  • Fraid not, Dutchboogie

  • Is there a YAMAHA NP30 full weighted?

  • No, semi -weighted only

  • @ColinMitchellMusic Ugh that sucks. Okay thanks

  • Brilliant. I wish i had left hand bass line skills like you......... :)

  • Thanks, MrOrrenB

  • It seems today all we see is movies of sex on TV! But where are those old fashion values on which we used to rely?

  • @DunkleWurzlen prick

  • @eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeminem I know, I'm sorry. Lucky there's a family guy...

  • Is this from the NP30's Speaker?Or you connect it to the other speaker?

  • Knowingin1995 ,it was a direct feed into my PC soundcard

  • are those full weight keys?

  • No, only semi weighted

  • hey that keybord has a nice sound your good

  • you play good :D i would like to learn the family guy theme too

so if you got the notes could you send me them?

ive got the yamaha psr 290 and im going to buy a real piano cause i dont like the sound of my digital piano ...

  • Dude, can you give a download link ? I want to use this for the dvd menu

  • wow are u improvising?... if it is, great!

  • I love that you looked at your watch in between. Lovely.

  • Haha! I had me a bus to catch!

  • i bought yamaha psr e423, it has more features i think

  • Yes, Lots more stuff to play with on the psre423!

  • The keys are too small I have it too

  • Hey can I ask you for some advice? Do you think I should get this piano (NP30) or get the Yamaha PSR- E423? Thanks.

  • Even the cheap instrument could be a good tool if a good player use it. It was great.

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks penguinneo !

  • I'm getting the Yamaha NP30, I always wanted to begin the piano, 'never been so excited!

  • Hope you enjoy it!

  • @ColinMitchellMusic will get mine tomorrow, whas hard learning for you?

  • Does this keyboard have heavy keys. Are they at all weighted?

    Nice playing.

  • No, the keys are very light. They are 'semi -weighted'.

  • hey guy great play!!!! but i MUST KNOW which scales do you use! please!

  • Just the G blues scale mainly....

  • great fucking show!

  • That is awesome man :) is the arrangement just improvised?

  • play me out johnny :D

  • Hey great playing!

the sound of the piano is awesome,

but how does it feel? compared to other digital pianos?

is it like a real piano?

    Brenton

  • It feels nothing like a real piano and much lighter than other digital pianos..

  • Hey colin, great job.. I'm interested in this piano as a portable rehearsal piano.. how loud do the speakers go on it?

  • Rob, the speakers are not especially loud, so depends on what kind of rehearsal you need it for. Would be fine with a small choir for example but a rock band rehearsal would be a big no-no!

  • fantastic has the piano got fully weighted keys

  • franielczyk , no ,only semi weighted

  • @ColinMitchellMusic Hi Colin! Would you recommend the Yamaha NP30 for someone who wants to start learning how to play the piano.

Great version of The Family Guy theme, by the way:)

  • Am looking at buying of these digital pianos. Now i'm already owning one in my head. Thank you mr colin man.

    luchi from new zealand

  • Luchi, they are great little pianos! Hope you get one soon!

  • Great sound quality, transcription of piece, and improvisation. Thanks.

  • Thanks, brush!

  • I like your T-shirt. Got to get me one like it.

  • Yeah it's my best t shirt LOL!

  • How did you record this? :o

  • @keyboard staright to PC using wavelab software

  • @ColinMitchellMusic Is it on USB?

  • No. Line out keyboard to minijack plug into soundcard

  • @ColinMitchellMusic how can you listen then what you play, and how can you set the music right into the movie? :P

  • I record the audio whilst videoing myself then sync the 2 up together

  • what music song is? its very cool!!!

  • It's off the TV show 'Family Guy'!

  • holy amazing sound quality!!!!

  • Cheers,NBproductionspresent !

  • does it have transpose!!!

  • Dunno. Maybe, maybe not....

  • I want to buy a keyboard or a digital piano, what do you recommend? I don't need the junk with sounds and such of the keyboard... Is the digital piano almost the same as a real piano (i mean with key-touch)?

  • Depends on your budget. The NP30's touch is nothing like a real piano. You'd have to spend a lot more to get even close to that. Happy piano hunting!

  • OMG great sound, and great perfomer too!

  • Thanks, Saul!

  • haha "trust me, I'm a musician"

  • aww that was cool! I love Family Guy

  • Dude I am shocked on how well that piano sounds!! 300 bucks and get that kind of sound I mean dang!!!

  • Yeah daniel, it's good, innit?LOL

  • Hey, Does the weight of the keys get lighter as you go right to piano? Is it any troubles? I might get the piano

  • eric11600 , yes the weight gets lighter -but it's not a huge difference between the top end and the bottom end of the keyboard. It's great for a portable inexpensive lightweight piano.

  • Wow!

  • How did you record this if you connected to your computer can you tell me how you did it?

    awsome playing by the way.

  • Yeah, I took a lead out of the headphone jack socket to my Yamaha mixing desk which then goes to my soundcard on the computer... Thanks for listening!

  • Yes, everyone - Colin is available for picnics, birthday parties, barmitzvahs, weddings - you name it!

I suppose you could say that I'm biased but he is, by far, the most versatile, talented musician I know.....

  • Tiverton, for my sins, LOL!

  • haha nice! only been there once, on the way to exe but still, seems a nice enough place :) x

  • Excellent Colin...I see the toy "burning" under your fingers touch....yeah! :-)....but I also appreciated your shirt!!! Trust me I am a musician!"...TOO COOL! :-)

5* from Rome and congrats for your new purchase....

    -Luca

  • Thanks Luca and well spotted on the T-shirt front , LOL! It has a really light touch compared to any other digital piano I have ever played so it takes a bit of getting used to but I think it has a great sound for what it cost! All the Best -Colin

  • Besides the light touch was the key spacing an issue for you because I heard the keys are ever so slightly narrower than standard piano keys. Nice choice of music. ;o)

  • Yes, it was an issue for me -it takes a bit getting used to! I demo'd it on a gig before I bought it, and that was the one thing which made me wonder if I should go ahead and buy it or not. I would not recommend having this piano as your sole instrument but as a handy little toy that sounds pretty good, it's worth the money for me...It even runs on 6 little batteries and is so light to carry!

  • Thats a nice little piano. Good playing too as always :)

  • Thanks Rasmus! I'm really pleased with it considering it is such an inexpensive instrument to buy, and it is super -light to carry around :-)

  • @ColinMitchellMusic Yeah i like it :)

  • Thanks Dave!

  • I would love to learn to play piano !! Amazing stuff colin ...

    Dave .....
