  • OMG! Someone from the youtube community sent me a link of when this unit was for sale on Ebay a while back. I couldn't afford it at the time. Great find...congrats! The sound reminds me of those 1960's style alarm-clock radios-when you set for the alarm to go off. It has that "drunk bird" sound. How many db's is this?

  • OMG WTF WAS THAT?! O_O

  • very through presentation and very cool!

Now we just need it to pulse in code 3 and then it will be really great

  • Wow!!! I can honestly say that I have never heard a smoke alarm that sounds quite like that! And, the MA/SS horn is actually a mylar coned speaker, like in Ademco 747s.

  • I also looked at it through the top vent and it looked exactly like the MA/SS horn.

  • Wow, thats great

  • very cool smoke. I remember seeing an old fire safety video in the 80's that featured one. It was shot at a school, I forget where, with a FD giving a fire safety lesson. They used a black blanket to represent smoke as they tought the kids to crawl under it. They brought in the smoke not only to teach the kids about smokes, but also used the smoke to practive crawling under "smoke" as they waved and slowly lowered the blanket as the smoke sounded. They also before hand demoed it for the kids.
