The Proxim models 8410-WD and 8420-WD are known to work. The 8410-WD has also been sold as the Dell TrueMobile 1150, Compaq WL110, Avaya Wireless 802.11b PC Card, and others. Most cards based on the Intersil Prism/Prism2 chip set also work. Most 802.11b, 802.11a and 802.11g wireless LAN adapters should work on Windows XP. This includes cards based on Atheros, Atmel, Broadcom, Cisco and Centrino chip sets.

Hey, I have a 1000mw 1 watt Alfa adapter and the NetStumbler says No wireles addapter found. Any sugestions?

Might be that Netstumbler is not compatible with your adapter.

It should be, because I can do injection and crack WEP's, so i dont know if I have to turn it on somehow. I have the adapter just two weeks and not sure if I have to set it up some how for the NetStumbler. So if you know any idea please let me know.

Your wireless adapter might be bad. If you can determine the type of adapter you can try downloading and installing an updated driver from either the computer or adapters website. If the adapter is bad you could purchase a USB adapter to connect.

This is the issue i have with these vids. I have tried netstumbler, All i want to know is how the hell do u connect to the green LOCKED networks?????!!! Hellooo. I dont care about the available opened ones, most of the time they r not strong enough. The locked ones have the POWERRRR! oy vey :-(

Hello, The locks are sites using encryption. You would need their key to connect. Greg

Hello, I use Netstumbler to survey an area for wireless access points. I monitor the, access control, signal strength, encryption, throughput, channel interference, and look for unauthorized access points, not for cracking WEP keys. Hope this helps and thanks for the comment.
