There is a German guy that does a good analysis of this book. His Ytube channel is WilfredVoynich. He shows examples of related specimens relative to those times. I think the big mystery is the language. It is apparently a now extinct language more so than it is a secret code. He may have wrote it in a little known language because it referred to medicinal uses of plants and would have been considered witchcraft in those days. Who can know?
