  • your just starting out, but you have soooo much potential!!! I'm in band too this is my third year on trumpet. I only have one thing bad to say, all you need to work on is your posture. Hold that trumpet up girl!! When you play it is important to keep your back straight and the bell of the trumpet up and level so they can hear you better. Other than that you rock!!!

  • Hahaha shes so cute! :) Very good for a 10 yr old also! Shes adorable:)

  • I remember playing all this in 6th grade. I was on flute but, still sounded similar

  • Lighter tongue will help with faster air. And you will have more air when you hold your instrument up. Breathing exercises will help with your head to make it not hurt.

  • Really good for a 10 year old.

  • make your horn angle vertical to the ground, right now you have a stuffy sound, but if you tilt up the bell you can have a very full sound. also take bigger breaths, i know your lungs arent developed since you a beginner and only ten but do the best you can to take in as much air as possible :D but youre doin great i was not that great when i started.

  • Even though I'm playing the alto sax and not too much older than you,you might wanna slow down and blow in some air a lil more so it can be more easier for you to play the notes.

  • @100blobdude AND NEVER GIVE UP TRUMPET!!!!!

  • Hiya, you don't sound too bad! or Ode to Joy, i would recommend slowing down slightly, and judging by some of the parts where you paused you may find it easier to have the music in front of you!

    Mike

PS yes, i may only be 14, but I am well respected by 18 year old legendary musicions so you can listen to me! Im not lying! Keep practicing! How about giving us another upload maybe?

  • Good Job. Open your teeth though. They sound very closed.

  • thats good for someone at a beginner level put more hot air into the instrument and breath from your stomach not your Chest

  • Work on long tones and practice slower and you will become a monster on trumpet when you enter middle school.

  • good when i was 10 i played alot better buht overall good :D

  • Open teeth!!! And blow lots of air! When you learn to do that you will become acutally good

  • Some tips, maybe hold the trumpet up a little straighter ,for sound.and a little more of a "Too" when you tongue, I had problems with tonging when i first started at age 11, but i forced my tongue to hit the back of my teeth every time and now its a clear "Too". But your are pretty good for a 10 year old.

  • Make sure ur mouth piece is level on both lips. Don't jamm it into it mouth because it making it hard to buzz. Also take bigger breaths

  • Great job!!! I'm 13 and have been playing for 4 years now. Here some tips. Make sure the mouth piece is not jamming your bottom lip for it stops you from buzzing. Make sure ur mouth piece is level on both lips. Take bigger breaths also. Keep up the good work!!!

  • Awesome! How much do you practice each day?

  • i don't know about her, but i practice like 2 hours each day. :) just saying

  • Work on your melody my freinds son i teach hes in 3rd grade almost better than me in 6th grade o.O

  • great job for a 10 year old. in 6th grade i was barely able to play a full scale. a small tip. when doing songs like ode joy, try slurring a little more (make them a little more connected ).

p.s. it is french, it talks about a poor man begging for fodd for his family and for his daughter to be excepted into a good school.

  • very nice try putting some more air through it and you'll be fine :)

  • you are doing great..better than i was when i was in 6th grade and that was well 7 years ago..but try not to push the trumpet against your lips..just try to relax..you are still doing good but try to use a little more air..just a few tips but still doing great..you will be amazing when you get to high school
