  • Mystery Solved. It's Caroline's Skull XD

  • Valve your just too good.

  • I do I turn image to SSTV signal

  • How can i make the audio go directly back into the system, other than being ghetto and taping my headphones to my mic?

  • @Jacobsaysftw get a male to male 3.5mm audio cable and plug one end into your microphone port and the other into the headphone port that should work.

  • may i ask where the files is located?

  • :O omg It's a skull!!! what's that got to do with portal??

  • i hate ppl like this

    1. get a fuckin recording program like hypercam or camstudio

    2. for good images change sound recording default to stereo mix

    3. ur a f***ing noob

  • @NicroLife Ha! way to read the description.

  • @NicroLife

    stop hating on him

  • @NicroLife i bet you are the biggest noob here commenting on other behind you're pc

  • i just started looking at all this ratman stuff and i think that all this sstv stuff is REALY cool i dotn care if you say "Its unclear" blah blah and stuff

  • IT IS CAVE JOHNSON?

  • whose fucked up idea was this at valve? Seriously, most creepy thing in a game....ever....

  • @Aleksandar998 iiiiiiii kkkkkknowww.....

  • Valve is so mysterious it scary!

  • Does anyone know how to do the reverse (Encoding an image)?

  • Which folder did you find the files?

  • You have a snowball.

  • where can i download a free software to decode this that will work with a mac?

  • @moon77123 : Google a programme called "MUltiscan" (written like that).

  • When I do it, the image is verry unclear. :s:s verry new to this

  • could you give me a link to the sight you downloaded the program from. The name isn't coming up with responsive downloads

  • This video helped me a lot, you won't believe how much. Thanks!

  • I just found this video trying to find software to decode the sound from the one radio in Portal 2. I was getting a bit frustrated at not knowing what to look for in software, until I saw this video. It took me seconds. Thank you very much. :)

  • even woks through your camcorder albe it degraded I can still see the image

  • That's what I meant. This is one signal from one radio in one level, correct.

  • Is this just the one sound? Or did it require a compilation of all the sounds to make this image?

  • @ijtheibert

from 0:00 to 0:53 is 1 image decoded from Robot 36.

    it depends what your asking.

just one wav/mp3 file to make 1 image

  • What is this for and btw where appears that sounds

  • Damn Valve, you scary!

  • @simsfreak555 That skelleton come near my house I'll kill it!

  • Old test subject I guess.. :P

  • you managed to figure out how to do this, but can't use a screen recorder...

  • @boredkid1235 I just wanted to show how sstv works and how it can still be interpreted from an imperfect analog transmission (between my headphones and my microphone). But yeah, a screen capture probably would have been fine :P

  • @marqmike2 and how can you show microphone and headphones if you use a screen capture software? I think using camera pointing into screen is better for this demonstration

  • @marqmike2 ya know i think that you are inncorect (or i am) but the thing is i did the same thing and mine was a companion cube on the moon

  • @boredkid1235 Cut him some slack.

  • Are all the video artifacts a result of the encoding process or actually in the picture?

  • @Hiyaguy Good question. I wouldn't be surprised if they messed around with the picture a bit before converting it into a SSTV signal. It does seem like a good portion of the visual noise comes from the audio noise that they added to the signal. I'm no expert on how such a signal works though, so I can't know for sure.

  • can you encode sstv images with this? is this program safe to use?

  • We should sue valve for sending threats over the internet :3

  • you guys want something creepy, throw a radio into the blue force field thing at the end. ear rape.

  • That's a nifty device you got there

  • Becaus THATS not horrifying at all.

  • Hey dudes please THUMB ME UP,if zou agree that "VALVE" is PURE AWESOMENESS !!

  • i wish i could yous this... i could send secret pics to friends and if caught they cant figure it out lol

  • wth? i tried this with robot 36 aswel nothing happens apart from random colours

  • O SHIT

  • Sweet man, thats pretty awesome! Thanks

  • how can you get the image without putting the headphones on a microphone. i have the sounds and the software but my mic and headphones are all in one so it would be easier just to play the sound into MMSSTV, if thats possible.

  • The image is a skull! :o

  • Hey, this is pretty cool! I didn't know something like this existed :)

  • Use GCF scape to extract the sounds from the game files.

  • I am listaning to still alive as I have just beat portal, the sounds come from hiden radios including the one in the first part of the game by bringing them to diferent areas and they start making noises

  • where do u find the sounds?

  • @TheElvemagee In the game there are radios all over the game and when you find one you gotta go to a place where the radio turns on and begins to play some strange noises.

  • is that really what comes out? O_O

  • Gabe Newell discovered crack. Oh god help us all.

  • how do you get the sound plz tell me

  • its portal 2 images

  • omfg D:,valve is a mysterious :O

  • Grado SR80s! An audio guy after my own heart. :-)

  • Where did u get the program?

  • Wow really awesome way to advertise for a game ^^

  • whoa thast something new

  • Valve is so mysterious.

  • what is te name of th program? i need to decode this

p.s. any morse code translation programs up your sleeves?

  • @killer21334 The program is called MMSSTV. As for decoding morse code, I'm sure there are some programs out there to do it, but I just used a pen and paper and decoded it by hand.

  • @marqmike2 How do you import wav files?

  • that's fuckin epic!

  • OMG DOCTOR ASSISTED HOMICIDE

  • That image is giving me eternal creeps.

  • @Samuka97 The image is a lie.

  • I have a snowball too! :D

  • You can change the extension of the file from .wav to .mmv and then go to "File>Play sound from the file..."

  • so what program is this

  • @cazyforlegos This is MM-SSTV

  • how do you play the sounds straight into the program? without having to go through the mic?

  • @AdamHawkins94 Normally you need some sort of "stereo mix" input available. Not all sound cards have this.

  • Sounds like ZX spectrum loading a program from a tape

  • OHHhh are those Grado's?

  • @RandomSkratch Yup, SR-80's and I love them!

  • thats pretty damn cool

  • Lol skull

  • @herespaul Skulls mean bad medicine!

  • Interesting!

  • thanks for the vid, interesting to watch
