  • is there any limitation to the NOR memory? I dont really understand the difference, except the instant-load. Cant I just out all my games to the NOR memory? It would be much more comfortable

  • @ImThePangolin

I know there's a limited NOR capacity on the EZ-Flash IV... but I'm not exactly sure what it is, but I don't think you can put more than one game on your NOR memory, anyway.

I know it's large enough to fit Mother 3 (Earthbound 2) for GBA, which has a file size of 32MB (that's the single largest game I've seen). =P

  • @WildWolfG Thank you for your response! However, keep on making good videos, really helped me a lot!

  • @ImThePangolin

    No problem, bro!

I should be making videos again real soon, though not TOO actively.

I have to get a job real soon, and I'll have to be dedicating a lot of my free time to my senior project at school- we're making a game and I'm in charge of a lot of its design.

It's turning out pretty amazing so far! I just have to remain this dedicated so that, in October when it comes time to present our game, it IS as amazing as we designed it to be. ^_^

  • coughs every ten seconds lol wtf jeez

i wish the cart cud be like an r4i like being able to save and cheat everything easily,,, or like the psp have savestates easily and multiples

  • @DjStiv3

lol I was feeling pretty crappy when I recorded these last couple videos... but yeah.

And yeah, I wish the EZ Flash IV had some better compatability, but... for about $30, I still don't regret buying it, if only to play GBA games.

By the way, someone said they figured out how to get GB/GBC games to save properly..!

I have yet to test it out (been super busy these past 2 months), but if his method DOES work, I'll be remaking those two tutorials!

  • @WildWolfG well when compared to a ds cart its like wow this big gba cart cant do much but a smaller nds cart can do everything except gba games (that kinda sucks)... but an r4 can do snes gensesis gb gbc nes on top of ds games

ez4 can do just nes gb gbc (problems tho) and gba games

i like it and have had it over a year but i regret buying it cuz its not worth 30 bucks i actualy paid 40 for mine and had to ship it back cuz it was cracked (no refund for shipping back price) and got another

  • @DjStiv3

Yeah. I guess if you already have an R4, you don't really need an EZ-Flash IV (unless you really want to play some GBA games).

But the main reason I bought my EZ-Flash was because I wanted to be able to play it on my new Famicom GB micro. =P

    I love my Micro! >_<^

  • thanks for the replies man, helped me figure out all the stuff I need to do as soon as that card will be delivered to my sweet mail box =P

I've checked different forums and the save for GB,GBC,NES is an issue, I'll check it out too

oh and performing a *normal* save in GBA (like saving in a checkpoint) will only actually save it into the SD when the gameboy will turn off/on right? how long is that interval there for?

  • @miloakil

    No problem!

Good luck on figuring out how to get it all to save. =P

Let me know if you're able to figure it out! I'll update my videos if you do.

And yeah, I think the file in the saver folder (your actual save file) only updates when the GBA is turned off and on again.

I'm not really sure how long you can leave it off without losing your "new" save data. I always just turn it off and on real fast, let the file update, and turn it off again... just to be safe. =P

  • @milokil

    6. I haven't saved any links to the forums I've looked at in researching all of this, but I've done a LOT of researching... and still, I haven't been able to figure out how to get NES, GB, and GBC games to save.

I'm currently trying a NEW method of saving GBC games, though... I'll let you know how it turns out.

    7. lol No problem, man. You might've actually gotten me to finally figure out how to save GBC games. >_<b

  • @miloakil

    3. For GB, GBC, and NES games:

    L+R: opens up the menu.

R+Select: saves to the current savestate.

    R+Start: loads the current savestate.

I'm not aware of any in-game shortcuts for GBA games.

    4. I did a battery test on it once (while playing Final Fantasy Tactics Advance), and I was able to get 5 1/2 hours of battery life.

    5. If you try to patch multiple games at a time, expect to see some weird file names. This is why I always patched my games individually.

  • @miloakil

    lol Thanks a lot, man.

Glad I was able to help. =P

    1. I don't have any direct experience with any other flash cart, but check this out:

    tinyurl(DOT)(COM)/miloakil

It seems like the Supercard Mini SD has the same issue as the EZ Flash IV.

    2. For all intents/purposes, NO GAMES support savestates. Saving GBA games normally (the way you'd save them on a normal cartridge) is the ONLY thing that seems to work just fine. For this reason, I don't even play GB, GBC, or NES games on my GBA. =(

  • 2. how is the situation regarding save and savestates for GBA, GB, GBC, NES?

3.a quicklist of all the ingame shortcuts please (A)

    4.confirm battery life on this?

    5. issues you've experienced with some games? playing or patching them

    6. any helpful link or forum link in the quest for more? =P

    7. sorry again for all these questions hahah

  • @miloakil

Nope, that other method for saving GBC games I tried doesn't work either. -_-

  • man I can't stress how much well these videos were made, congrats on the awesome job you've done. I happen to have the same exact gameboy micro and boy it is AWESOME! :D went out to take a smoke before writing, saw all the videos after one another hehe =P

now if you don't mind I'm gonna kill you with questions :P

    well here it goes:

    1. done some research and looked your videos, still is this the best card you can get for the micro and how does it fare against say supercard mini sd

  • Thanks for making this video! I been looking for a way to get the ugly Vador skin off when I first got it months back.

  • @TheAi5uzu

    No problem, man!

  • Thank you so much more informative than the spanish one (even if I could speak the language).

  • @jakeh2034

    lol No problem, bro.

    Glad I could help! *_*b

  • Thanks :D

I didn't know I had to press the R button.

  • @JorisKanters

    No problem ^_^b
