@DaxShaw yes. Sadly often when people fall in love, the world narrows to them and the object of their affection, which is why Ste's guilt is infrequent and fleeting. I guess my problem with Rae comes down to poor writing? We know enough of Ste's background and current situation(abuse, lack of current friends etc..) to know why he would fall blindly for Brendan despite the big flashing warning signs. Rae ignoring them makes no sense, and just seems more like 'grab a man and hang on'.
