  • Awesome explanation! Helped me tremedously with my electric motor project. Thanks!

  • this is awsome

  • this video is fake !!

  • @ByMoDeRaToR u penis is a fake

  • @EuVoceEoZobomafo ok its not fake i understand how it is working,i compared it with normal 2 pole motor but this has one pole i analsy it its possible to work DEAR MANDINGO :)

  • @ByMoDeRaToR sorry my bad English:(

  • i did this with a 9v battery and all it did was burn the paper clip :)

  • DAT MUSIC !!!!!!!!

  • whats the song????

  • I am very happy to see the vidoe The Tabletop Explainer is an intermittent educational vlog presenting answers to viewer questions, brief science lessons, and ideas for teachers and students after you give this

  • I Love The Video It Can Increase My Knowledge The Tabletop Explainer is an intermittent educational vlog presenting answers to viewer questions, brief science lessons, and ideas for teachers and students

  • 240pisses me off youtube

  • w its helpful when u speed it up :)

  • I dropped by

  • What gauge is the wire?

  • WHAT GAUGE WIRE IS IT ??

  • is " the screen" the magnet?

  • What do you mean, "leave insulation on half the wire"? Can you clear this up for me please?

  • My motor doesn't work. I have all the materials you have and I set it up like you did and NOTHING. Any help?

  • @spiveyscookie

check your wire if you scratched it..

  • Hantu

  • too fast to learn how it is done, especialyy how to connect the wire.

  • what size wire gauge do you use

  • @restez1963 i find 21 guage to work good

  • @317andrew317

    THANK YOU

  • @jh78ghbn56 no problem

  • how fast does the wire spin

  • @MsMarvens crazy fast

  • I dont have that alligator clips, can i substitute something else? please reply! :D

  • @spurrya yes you can use a substitute for aligator clips. obviously it has to be a conductor.

  • I would like to make this. I want to use some other battery i do not have as this one.

How many v have this one?

If i use a.g. battery of 1.5v what then? Do i need smaller magnets or a less wire?

    Please give me explain.

  • Way too fast...

  • @Snemelk yes it was so fast but it tells you want you need

  • This is not really a motor .Its effectively a short circuit which will flatten the battery very quickly .

  • and what i can do with this ?

  • Should have been Narrorated by..

    Barry White...

    Awwwww Yeah...

Baby , I wanna feel yor electrons...

Lets strip down and loop together..

  • @dcolarusso hey can't we use copper wires instead?

  • dam it way way to fast

  • how is this 80's porn music? have you really watched a porn video from the 80s so much that you could remember the music in 2011?

  • @planetoftheapez agree with you man this is funk music not porn

  • the most amazing video I've ever seen

  • From my understanding this is a synchronous motor, right?

  • what song is this ?

  • Pena que é ingles

  • yupss....thnks for animation

  • wont the coil spin if we place the coil in between 2 opposite poles of magnet and generate current without the battery

    please reply

  • @adithyanj32 for current to flow the coil or magnets must move

  • @gocrazy432

    thnx man !!!!!!!!!!!

  • wont the coil spin if we place the coil in between 2 opposite poles of magnet

    please reply

  • I built a dirt hut in minecraft today

  • so fast idiot !¡

  • cool

  • Nerd ;o

  • hey can u do this with a type of battery, plz tell me

  • i wonder if there is still music thats not used in porn.

  • i feel like im about to watch superbad cuz of the music

  • Comment removed

  • but you use a lot of energy to produce that simple thing , -troll face- just kidding

    anyway good job!

  • The background music is to keep people like, quagmire, entertained.

  • nice vid

  • The music is horrendous

  • yay for induction!

  • Too fast :S

  • I think i'll try this.

    Timmy

  • Its very well informatinos.

  • When you try to scratch the copper to take out the coating, does it make you want to grind your teeth?

  • @simpleb6 OMG YES!

  • It's great! i like this clip.

  • what.... i cant see how it works

  • hO Yea!!

  • perfect thought for a dual-shaft motor... well..if it was more powerful.

  • easier said than done

  • this was stupid

  • i keep tring & trying until i failed

  • vi um parecido no mundo de beckamam

  • that wire is magnetic??

  • I didn't see how to make it =p

  • the wire is too thin it wouldn't stay at the top, always drop and stick with the magnet .

  • PLEASE. someone can help me to translate (spanish) or put subtitles to this amazing video.

    i will be so grateful

  • i have a question and please answer it. How can you get an armature for example to turn without having to give it a push at the beginning?

  • @GotxMilk22 make the coil parallel with the direction of the magentic field so it will look like its upright in this one, if the magnets were on the sides of the coil it would be lying flat, this give it max torque at that point.

  • this is wrong, they forgot that you have to have another magent to create a magnetic feild

  • @johnny1iang are you saying one magnet has no magnetic field? get an education mate.

  • @johnny1iang

    Ever heard of electromagnetism?

  • I got a question: Lets say i take a wire with a cross-section area of 5mm^2 and rap it round in 2 loops of radius r, and send 1 ampere of current though. Then a second wire with cross-section area of 10mm^2, now just one loop, same radius r and same current 1 ampere. Would the magnetic fields created be of equal magnitude or would the one with 2 loops be the stronger one? If so, is it then because the current being forced through a smaller cross-section area 5mm^2 thus magnifying the effect??

  • where can i buy that battery (how much) and the cell and leads(howmuch)

  • nice job

  • the half striped wire act ar the commontator and i dont think it needs to be striped on both sides of the coil where it touched paperclips ,but im not 100% sure,i remember doing a sinilar project using a cork and 2 large safety pins instead of just a loop and the paper clips,

  • porn music

  • @elijohua thats jazz u stupid

  • Answers to your questions:

    1. To make and break the connection to the battery.

    2. Strip so that, at rest, the current can flow through the coil.

    3. Stronger field.

    4. Higher voltage, more wire turns, thinner wire, stronger magnets, lower mechanical resistance

  • chuck norris could do this in 1 second!

  • @aleeeex1055 no one cares

  • @aleeeex1055 wrong, chuck norris doesnt even need magnets and energy to turn the wire, he only needs to stare to the wire, and it will automatically move.

  • @rockiller00615 you have a point

  • Top rated comment-Arabic Its means Talmo my brothers the Arabs or Arabs know my brothers

  • @sirral11 too bad all 80's music is pron music.

  • @sirral11 I think its seen as just "music" these days though I also agree - The Americans have weird music

  • @oioioi3000

Considering most of the world emulates, personifies and copies American culture, wouldn't be fair to say that the world has weird music?

  • @turokdarkstar Pathetic, deluded idiot!

  • @UncleKennybobs

    RahRahRah! =)

  • @sirral11 hahaha literally just scrolled down to comment on how the music sounds like its from a porno- then I saw your comment lmao!

  • @sirral11 Are you creazy??????.

  • The highest rates comment is in another language.... :( ): I think its urdu or arabic!

  • make it slower dumb ass

  • How about making one that could turn a small wheel so I can bring it in for tech, can we make it wind powered too?

  • what is the point of making electric motor and what dose it do just spin ???

  • thanks it helped me alot

  • This is a terrible video. What is the stage at 1:29? Ugh, this could have been such a good video. The music sucks too.

  • aduh! meni sae pisan..

  • aduh! meni sae pisan...

  • sae pisan..resep ningalina!

  • sae pisan..resep ningalina!

  • wth ur video is to fast!!!

  • awesome ....!!!

  • what kind of insulating wire copper ? and how big

  • @dcolarusso

Why does it rotate in only one direction? It should rotate in both the directions depending upon which side the pole of the coil is initially.

  • @forestinfullbloom I'm not quite sure if you're answering your own question there, but essentially what you said (if I understand what you did say) is correct. The wire would spin in the opposite direction if the connections to the cell were reversed (or, also, if the magnetic field direction was reversed). I trust the reasons for this are explained in the previous video.

  • no entendi

  • Joe Biden claimed that the $862 Billion failed stimulus ($400 remains unspent) “created or saved” 750,000 jobs. Economists don’t recognize jobs saved, and the jobs saved may have been keep local agencies afloat. When the money ran out, the people lost their jobs. Currently States are considering filing bankruptcy for spending. watch?v=IqmeT5ykKf0

The Govt owns 61% of GM, GOOGLE, “GM's electric-car fantasy running out of gas” and read links. The Green Movement should be free market driven

  • Slow DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • whats with the 70's porn music

  • okay so i understand most, but what is cell and leads ?

  • Comment removed

  • @Sonyoooo3 NO. As long as you have a potential voltage, or applied pressure you will have rotation. As soon as the voltage source is removed it will stop the motion. There is no such thing as free energy. It either exisists or it does not. More importantly it can only be converted.

  • Comment removed

  • Convential theory taught us that you need a north & south pole in a DC motor. That being the stator. The rotor(the part that actually turns) needed a commutator. to provide the alternate current flow via segments, to attract and repel, thereby inducing motion. This vid shows that magnetic fields can be used in a myriad of ways to obtain motion

  • @rapunserl u kno too muchnot tryin 2 start somethin but yea u kno 2 much thats a good thing

  • shit... i had to make this just with 2 motors in a parallel circuit with 3 different resisters... I feel crazy now, magnets how do they work?

  • It's not working for me :s I realized that it wasn't working and just emitting sparks is that i had a lot of wires touching each other.. I tried singling out one copper wire then wrapping it in that insulating tape.. I looped it and it wouldn't spin :s the magnets have no effect on what I'm doing.. When I move it beneath the wire, i could feel the pull, but that's it... someone.. help?:s

  • how could i make this alot bigger and alot stronger?

  • @Voilamox

More current. But there is no practical use to this besides it looking cool.

  • @INDEPENDENTPRODUCTS i dont think so because the wire is copper and as you can see, they had placed magnets UNDER the wire. anyways,... insulation around the wire.

  • DOES THE WIRE HAVE TO BE MAGNETIC?!??!?!?!?! ANSWER!!!!

  • @INDEPENDENTPRODUCTS No, I don't think so. That's the point of having the magnets.. Besides there's insulation around the wire

  • DOES THE WIRE HAVE TO BE MAGNETIC?!??!?!?!?! ANSWER!!!

  • DOES THE WIRE HAVE TO BE MAGNETIC?!??!?!?!?! ANSWER!!!!

  • @Mitchell070Hw wow cos thats still funny

  • @proffesor98 yea it is bitch

  • it work!!! :)

  • I have an ac motor this works by a rotateing magnetic feild and uses 50hz to keep my clock right.

  • in a generator the magnetic change(flux if you will) creates a flow in the electrons of the wire. the electrons never run out because they never actually leave the wire. it is a continuous loop

  • I have a question of a curious nature. Say you have an electrical generator that keeps running and running, producing an electrical current continuously. Where do the Electrons come from? Where do the electrons keep coming from that are produced by the Generator? Do they come from the windings of the generator, and if so, wouldn't the generator soon run out of electrons? If not, then where are they coming from? Any information would be appreciated, I am quite curious about this.

  • @Jdonovanford i sorta had this idea the other day, please dont judge, if you were to start up the generator which is by a crank, what if it could set a portion of the electricity to power it self

  • @terryeddyterry Mmm... don't get it. Does that answer to my question?

  • @Jdonovanford we yes and no basicly it powers itself by turning the crank itself wich in return would power it again

  • @terryeddyterry What does it mean "turning the crank itself"?

  • @Jdonovanford and also power the calculator.

  • @terryeddyterry well picture this, a solar powered calculator that uses the power for calculation and the rest to power an led light on top which will power itself. turning the crank is like a metaphor for me.

  • جيد

  • I didn't know one can build an electric motor like that!

  • The video makes me want to build a small electric motor. The audio (music) makes me want to star in a porno.

  • music is more lyk: "Time to Fuck" lol

  • Wonderful My teenage sons got a kick out of this experiment. It took only a couple of minutes to make the motor also. It worked perfectly instantly!

    Thank you

Bengt the father of two teenage boys.

  • so if you want to make the motor faster and stronger, would you have to put more wire

  • @KsHoOt3r7 No, you just add more batteries...

  • PLEASE: Watch my Electrinium Battery videos, godspeed to you all.

  • Where would you purchase the cell and the insulated wire?

  • @azx100ful Talmo my brothers the Arabs?

  • @donnytstordock you have the same translator as i do
