Im starting construction on my raised beds this weekend which will include PVC hoophouses so I can grow greens deeper into the winter months. Good stuff though.

Yes! Please check out my front yard kitchen garden on my channel! It's my first year with things in the ground instead of just containers and going great!
John Kohler hired someone to build his raised beds for him, AND he hires gardeners to take care of his plants for him, but he acts like he did it all himself. :))
I did not do it all myself. I will be the first to admit that I don't garden as much as I like because I have so many projects, such as the Raw Health Expo, Running my business & my 3 youtube channels. I do most all the research & I am constantly checking my plants and directing the gardeners on what to do, etc. So I am a hands on gardener even if my hands aren't always dirty. Its important with me to have a nice "model" garden to show others what is possible, so I made it happen with help.
Great interview, John is so wise! beautiful beds too! I have a God gifted and given garden which is the highlight of my life... well, Jesus is but my garden is pretty important to me too. It's such a prize, I am so grateful that God has blessed it (and me) so well this year. I'm growing all sorts of lovely organic goodies! Speaking of, yesterday I picked up new plant friends which I will be attending to in my garden today! Shiso and cinnamon basil, yum! Love and blessings to you my friends!
Before buying wood from the hardware store, check that it is not chemically treated wood. We almost made that mistake. We thought it was just plain wood. Luckily, the guy asked us what we were using it for. He told us not to use any of the construction wood because it is treated with poisonous chemicals that prevent it from rotting out.
yes, we have a garden here in the mid-west. First year having a "real" garden (normally just grew some tomatoes)..
growing well: tomatoes, marketmore 71 cucumbers, green zucchini, scarlet nantes carrots, bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, bulgarian carrot peppers, yellow parma onions, broccoli, sequoia strawberries.
not growing so well: cauliflower (planted too late in season.. too warm), Black Beauty eggplant (still hope here), spinich (also too late).. few others.

@bytor356 Endless studies back it up. You can murder yourself and no one will care but dont give such horrible advice to others.

I'd like to know what Mr. Kohler and your guys think about HR 875. There needs to be a movement from the Raw Food and Vegetarian world about this.
