@BARNYVAZQUEZ Kind of. In The Suffering, you definitely are focused more on attacks and transforming into the monster, as well as escaping the island/prison. Silent Hill is more about puzzles and riddles, but still a horror game like The Suffering. I would definitely recommend it to you.

Gameplay-wise this is the best in the series. Although it's pretty unrealistic making some weapons breakable after 9 hits or so. Particularly the fullmetal ones. I mean, it would have been reasonable with the throwing weapons but even with Huge-ass wrenches and swords? O.o

The shotguns sucks though. It focuses on only one enemy at a time even when there's a swarm in front of you...

You should get origins. Shattered Memories (Coming from someone who played this and all silent hill's) just doesnt seem to live up to the expections. Origins was preety good and it explains the events before Silent Hill for the Playstation so you should get that one instead. But that is just my opinion...

And you haven't played 3?! It's arguably the best of the series, right along with 2. Definitely play it if you're looking for the ultimate "Silent Hill experience".

I thought this was not a good game because people were talking bad about it but after the Sanitarium I'm convinced it is a good SH game. You shouldn't link this to SH1 at all.

The game your seeing in that trailer never got released. It was scrapped and replaced by a game made by climax. Climax changed a lot of things about it. You would probably be better off linking this to the "reimagining" of SH1 that climax is making. They'll share more similarities.

Bullshit Silent Hill isn't scary.

I would go as far as to say that Silent has always been, and WILL always be, scarier than Resident Evil. Mostly because Resident Evil is centered around zombies, while Silent Hill is centered around psychological fear/nightmares.
