Thanks for posting!!! first heard of them in '86 or '87 when I was working at WNUR, Northwestern University's "underground" radio station. Loved them, played them, and many years later am grateful the internet allowed me to find their vinyl-only stuff! Wish I had the funds to hire them to come to Chicago to play...it would be so awesome!
the intro about people moving to austin and clubs closing is so eerie now. i admit i was one of those people who moved to austin in the early 80s, but i'm also someone who was sad to see her favorite clubs gone forever. terrible.
angrylambie...my crush on kathy was nothing compared to my crush on brian. ;o)
You too? I friggin' loved these guys. They'd come to Philly a couple times a year, and I'd have to drag my half-dead carcass to work the next day. I even went to see 'em at some U of P frat house once. It was DUTY!
Hey, that was my frat house. They played there every time they came through town...something like 3-4 times. I got the translucent yellow vinyl version of this record...signed. It was awsome times. Love the fretless bass.
remember them from San Francisco tours, they were often teamed with Game Theory (I did GTs photography) - had a crush on Kathy (and who didn't?) and always loved these guys! - especially live
I saw these guys in Little Rock, AR back in the day. They were so different people didn't know what to think of their freaky rhythms and use of dissonance. Their CDs rock. You have to listen to them several times before you "get" a lot of it. I like them more and more every time I listen to them. I heard they're back together recently. Austin music rocks.

So crazy, that Kathy ended up getting married with Dave, the guy Daniel Johnston is sending a shout out to at the end of the video.

Highlarious. I love this angular stuff. And it's (some) of the people from the movie Slackers, which makes it even better.

The drummer, keyboardist and Guitarist were all in the movie Slacker. Slackers had Jason Schwartzman in it.
