  • it's ok...you could have did more to it like a landscape....

  • cool...

  • Does she have a lisp?:P

  • Comment removed

  • I was thinking about making this as a night light for a child as well and I scrolled down and looked at the comments...my reaction:.........Guess I'm not so creative(:......(as in someone else thought of it too)

  • the light would have looked beter if you had used a white background inside the lamp. the light would then reflect beter on the way up the window.

  • I think you are hot !!

  • I did this project awhile back because it looked very fun and the end result would be really pretty. It caused me some trouble though because I wanted it to match my room, so I spray painted the back panel light blue. When I had already nailed the back on and everything, I turned the light on and you couldn't see what part of the glass was frosted and what wasn't. I took it apart and repainted the back black & it's very beautiful now. I can see the designs now. SAVE TIME! PAINT THE BACK DARKER!!

  • geekanoid.. nice hammering..

  • they shoulda put a penis on it LAWLLS

  • it would have been better if it opened so u can put stuff in it

  • hello

  • cute :)

  • This is like an advanced version of the crafts I used to do from Highlights magazine as a kid.

  • What a clever idea! I just love getting new ideas for things that might have ended up in a junk pile. I do decorative art on old, unwanted furniture (mostly yard sale treasures). It's amazing what can be done with recycled stuff. I love it!

  • how cool would it be to make a couple circular windows and instead of flowers do seaweed and sea creatures instead(different fish, sharks, shells etc) and attach a running light behind all of them

  • well she said they were trying it out .. so shes not gonna make sumthing extravagant if it might be a waste

  • reckon lets now tell the truth. That is a neat project. And you did not find the sash in a barn. See when the foundation is lies it cheapens the whole project. Now when you post such a thing with lies I have reason to believe the rest is true

  • We like her!

  • i wanna do one to look like a fireplace flame..

  • great!!

  • lol I just love how she makes it seem so easy, Oh I just did this, and just did that...lol like everyone knows how to do this and that..lol

  • This is really cute!!!!

  • WOW !!! really creative. love it

  • And she is cute too!

  • HOW COME SPRAY PAINT RUNS. Ppl don't read instructions. Always be 14 inches from Object. Start to spray off object then pass over object ,then stop. Make your2nd. pass with half of it covering half of last pass .

Repeat this for one light coat . let set 10 -15 minutes and repeat. each coat you spray across a little slower to allow more paint to build up. "KRYLON" IS THE BEST SPRAY PAINT on earth. I've used 1,000 cans , some has lasted 15 yrs. Yep it's that good.

  • That is neat project. Add moon & stars on the top part with another light that will be awesome too. Hard to find old windows these days but I'm sure I will find some at yard sales & flea markets.

  • Wonderfull. I found the answer of my life's qustion.

    The Answer is:

    Clap On - Clap Off.

    Thx...

  • OMGosh, you are now my newest best friend! We are going to do this with smaller frames for our stairwell in our new addition! Love it!!!!

  • That would be cute to do cartoons rather then flowers and use it as a night light in a childs room. Very fun looking project.

I'll have to give this a shot.

  • very good idea

  • How about a second track of lites shining from the top?

  • How did you click the light on?

  • They had it attached to one of those clappers.

    Clap on.

    Clap off.

    Cla... you get it.

Also... why paint the back so dark?

You know, the whole "the darker the color the more it absorbs light..."

I'd think for doing a "light box" you would want it to reflect as much light as possible for the greatest illumination potential? (white background)

  • Eh, nevermind, I realized the etchings wouldn't have shown had it all been white... but still, the upper part could have been white making it two tone to give more light to the top... The top just seemed a bit too dark to me.

  • @St0pTheNoise it was actually a joke when she was clapping. Somebody was actually turning the light on and off lol. I actually think it was better to put a dark background, especially seeing how everything was white anyway. I hear what you're saying about absorbing light but at the same time it's good 2 put a dark colour at the back of a light one. Also with that art piece u actually don't want to much light, sometimes subtle is better than full on. Peace!

  • @mentor32

Basically the backboard ended up creating a black top that was unlit that seemed to be more of a focal point (or a distraction) than the flowers she worked hard on.

That or add another light strip at the top to introduce more light to the project- or make a gradient from dark at the bottom to white at the top so it looked like it wasn't "burned out"

  • @St0pTheNoise Would the box still work if she used a reflective surface of some kind? Like if she had a mirror just lying around in her garage or something?

  • @twentytwentyeight The only thing I could see making a mirror work is if you actually etched the backing off of the mirror for the front, unless you mean where she put the backing board.

If you mean in place of the backing board then yeah, a mirror probably would do well.

  • Since it's glass, the flower I guess...."cutouts" is the right term? Would have shown white, right? And the frosted glass is already a white color, so I feel like you would have lost a lot of the definition.

    Or....I'm completely wrong.

  • @St0pTheNoise well yeah, that's true, but she might just have wanted a nice glowing window instead of a full-on facewash of light, but it just depends on the personal preference and the look you're going for.

  • @epit0me A big thing that turns me off about this is the fact the flowers are drowned out by the glare of the light at the bottom and the dark pit above them distracts the eye.

Perhaps if she made it a gradient backdrop with white being the top and brown being the bottom it would have worked better. The flowers were just way too bright and the top section was way too dark & distracting.

Don't get me wrong, I think her idea is brilliant but to me the backing just seems to dull down the piece.

  • @St0pTheNoise i guess with a bright background you caouldnt see the "flowers" as good as with a dark one...

  • my friend doesnt make lights and crap but she found some old busted up windows and paints them and fixes them up, then makes collages and gives each pane a different theme its amazing and so beautiful!

  • your talking is so cool I like it

  • like this

  • I love your videos they are very helpful and you have a pleasing personality.

    thank you

  • Very pretty. I love it.

  • cool indeeed!!!!

  • Cool, I wish I had a window...

  • Do you live under a stair case by chance?

Great video btw :) I like the hesitation at the end

  • Kinda ugly...But a good idea

  • Well it was a fast video

if it was a longer video im sure she would've had something way more creative
