EQ had the most badass looking spells. I played for a long time. I remember logging in and actually being in Norrath. Logging in and out in what seemed liked and hour ended up being 2 days haha. I will always miss EQ. The original theme song was amazing.

I too still play EverQuest or as its called in my city EverCrack. Have been since RoK and still love the game to this day. I play between this and EverQuest 2. It is still personally the best MMO. I can say this as I've tried WAR/ AOC/ WoW/ EVE online/ and MxO online as well as SWG. EverQuest could still have the market and will make a rise back to top MMORPG of the year.

SOE is just issuing the copyrights on the EQ pictures on the EQclassic website, but developpement has never stopped and is progressing fast and well. EQ classic is doing great so just hang on and be patient !

EQClassic is not dead, but is had definately run into legal issues with Sony. Work is still being continued underground and EQCDB has some information, you can access the IRC from there which is still the best place to be to figure out what is going on. When the time is right more information will be posted, one of the big challenges right now is finding a good location to host the server, obviously it will have to be outside of the US. Or there still is a chance Sony will open a classic server.

Before planes of power,the armor was good but the raids were still fun and the people were alot nicer then for some odd reason.
The people started worrying more about grinding xp and getting gear than having fun and it became all about getting gear and stepping on as many people as they need to get it.I loved the classic days of velius and kunark.Those were some of the best moments of eq for me.
My friends who loved Classic EQ (1999-2001) it is coming back! Google EQClassic it is coming back :P over 1500 people signed up on the forums... it is going to be my last RPGs.. screw WoW/Warhammer/AoC they are rehashes of EQ's incredible break through in the RPG industry.

I think it will be hard to dupleicate the feeling and true excitement we all had with eq.
The whole genre was so new then that of course it had those feelings, but now, we are experienced gamers and have seen so much and done so much, it is simply to hard to go back with as much as we all expect from these games.
I will always miss those old eq days, I really enjoy eq2, have played wow and other mmos and have yet to feel that eqlive feeling.
We will get another game that is as fresh and insanly epic as eq was in time.. WoW definatly isn't that game tho.. I'm afriad vanguard isn't either. but it will come.. I know it will.
It is a mmorpg that reached a peak a few years back. A massive time sink that required exstensive hours of playa for often little gain. It was back in the glory days before mmorpgs held your hand. Brings back good memories.
